Uprated, but for context, the G20 protests in Toronto in 2010 were Star Wars Empire level crackdown as well. There was rampant stop & frisk, unlawful searches, carding, etc harassing techniques used on the public.
The MSM will point to the "looting and torching of downtown Toronto" but if you find footage online, take notice of what's burning - RBC bank had a park bench thrown through front window, BMO bank HQ heavily vandalized, Chapters (monopoly) book store burning, but corner convenience store owned by family untouched, even the potted plants outside untouched. Also, footage shows there was only one instance of looting, a Bell cellphone store, but that was quickly stopped by other citizens who threw the stolen phones back in the store after apprehending the looters. There was lots of fake MSM news, even back then.

I'm 🇨🇦 and there are RCMP (cops) that have been arrested themselves, in the thousands over the past 2 decades, for various crimes, and that's well-documented and publicly accessible.
I have only had 3 minor interactions with them as a young guy, over 20 years ago. Every single time, whatever money I had on me, wasn't given back, and every time they told me that I didn't have any money on me, so they stole it without hesitation.

I'm American. I was in Peterborough ON at the time of the truck protest in Ottawa. There was a huge difference between the police the night before then the ones that showed up to "deal" with the truckers peacefully protesting. Many believe Tradue brought in UN police and put Canadian like uniforms on them. Canadians are not like this. I'm wondering if the same crap is happening. I disagree with their protest, but they don't need to be treated this way.
If the people stand together, anything is possible. Greater numbers win the physical struggles 💪 that we see when the cops show up, were already in restraints when the first &!^!%!$@^# opens his or her mouth and says "peaceful protest". You think they show up in those vehicles of war, looking like a soldier, for peaceful protesters? It's intimidating. It works every time. People don't gather 300 style ( that's a movie ) to push back.

I believe they were Canadian citizens, technically speaking, (so NOT UN) but if you grow up in the big metropolitan cities of virtually any country, quite often you do not grow up in a proper community setting, and there is little chance you are instilled with community values or national pride.
An example of this was the Indonesian occupying force of East Timor: most of the Indonesian soldiers were picked from the slums of Jakarta. Their only loyalty was to their paymaster, and they acted with impunity. They were quite brutal.
But this also goes for London, Paris, Toronto, NY, LA, Mexico City, the Favelas of Rio DJ and Sao Paulo, etc, etc.
You could even have cops who grew up from a bad neighborhood, end up viciously policing that neighborhood, even if their own families were victims of police brutality.
This is the globalized world we live in by design: no grounding, no sense of community or nationhood, people desperate to be apart of something.

There's a recent story out about cops holding a womans face down in a fire ant hill, as she screams & begs them, as a swarm of ants are chewing up her face. The cop just holds her there deliberately, while a whole handful of others just stand there, placidly watching. They didn't even have a reason to be arresting her.

I'm Canadian, our cop culture is as disgusting as USA's. All my schoolmates who became cops were either bullies or being bullied in school (mostly the second). The only "advantage" we have over our Southern neighbor is that since most of us don't carry guns, our cops are slightly less trigger-happy. Not because they're better people, just because they don't feel threatened.
This shit makes me want to protest to express my right to protest.

this has happened for years but there were no phones to film it back then, these officers think they will be safe by doing the masters bidding, but when they have finished all the plans, they will be next. one does not gain respect by doing what one is asked, if you are going against a moral code.
This isn’t new in Canada. I remember being in a club on new years and saw buses of armed police coming downtown. We left as they were infiltrating the bars. That was 2000.
