Dear Professor, your Fluid Mechanics textbook is my favourite. Sir, I am writing to you, thinking to use a concept of Thermodynamics as an analogy, to defend the case of our Christian Faith, especially in front of muslims and other non trinitarians I mean, using the concept of TRIPLE POINT to explain the Trinity, so water in its 3 states exist together, just like God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Since all the three states coexist, so the arguments of Modalism and Partialism dont apply. If I give the example of say, I am standing on a freezing/frozen lake, there is water beneath the surface, and while I am standing , the air I am breathing in, still has 1.5 to 2% of water vapour even at 0 degrees Celsius. So again water in its 3 states is existing together simultaneously. What do you think about this?? Plz do reply🙏 Sending good wishes from India
Sounds good. i have heard the Trinity analogy with water before (solid, liquid, and vapor). Thermodynamically, the triple point may be a better analogy. Your example of standing on ice is not at the triple point, though. Thank you for your comment. I am glad that my videos have been useful to you! Please tell your friends and colleagues about my UA-cam channel where there are almost 500 free videos about the Bible, fluid mechanics, science, math, Excel, statistics, air pollution, and other topics. I would greatly appreciate it.
@johncimbala yes prof. indeed, standing on a frozen lake is not an example of Triple point, I thought of this example later. Actually all this while, people who didn't accept the water analogy, may have thought that water vapour exists only at 100 degrees Celsius, but that is not the case actually. Actually, I came across a few muslims who always rejected the Trinity, and the Trinity is straightaway rejected in the Quran(so is crucifixion). Yesterday, I was watching Bart Ehrman speak on the Trinity, frankly he lacked any substance. He said the Trinity appears only once 1 John, but if you study carefully, the Trinity is found at many places even in the Old Testament , God appearing as a human or angel form . I have challenged his position. It would be nice, if highly learned people like you refute the likes of Bart Ehrman. Thanks for your reply Professor 🙏 P.S.: Sir, I also post instrumental church music like hymns, played on the organ, on my UA-cam channel. Would urge you to check that
@@johncimbala at 0 deg celsius, the percentage of water vapour in the air is not zero, though it is in small amount. Sir what about fog over a freezing lake?? fog is ofcourse water vapour(about to condense) suspended in the air
@@apurvnandy Yes, I am aware of that. I just am saying not to say it is the triple point for your example. Here is the definition of triple point: "A "thermodynamic triple point" refers to the specific temperature and pressure at which all three phases of a substance (solid, liquid, and gas) can coexist in thermodynamic equilibrium, meaning they are all present simultaneously at that exact point on a phase diagram; it's where the lines representing the phase transitions between solid-liquid, liquid-gas, and solid-gas meet." For water the triple point is 0.01 C but at very low pressure, 611.73 pascals.
@@johncimbala Sir, the concept of Triple point is difficult to understand for people without a background in science. I had an argument with a Muslim guy, I told him about the Triple point, maybe he did some research, so he said, "Oh it's a special case", so I countered him by saying that water doesn't boil at 100 degrees Celsius universally, it boils at 100 degrees Celsius only at 1 atm pressure. Effect of gravity is also not same everywhere. So, then I gave him this lake example. Earlier they refused to accept the water analogy, by arguing that it the heresy of Modalism or Partialism, but if you give them the Triple point example, those arguments don't stand . Now I am waiting for Bart Ehrman's reply... Thanks to you Sir, for replying to me🙏
