I have a 93 Korean telecaster with maple neck headstock has Fender with squire series on the tip serial number cn3 I replaced the neck with a MIM because of a knot at the heel caused it to twist I saved the original and now it seems to have straightened may try to use original again as it has that vintage look also has narrow fret wire also have a 93 squire MIM that plays like a dream
Beautiful guitar. I have same one. Serial M2705203. I was gonna strip out and replace with fender electronics but I plays so nice that I left it as is. Had to do the same with the neck though
That's my favorite Stratocaster combo just recently got a deal on a American standard white with maple neck been searching for years I do all my own setups they are probably not perfect but I'm not that picky
Regarding of the shimming of the neck, I've noticed that the bridge itself is very low, it looks they have try to neutralize the whammy bar. Maybe something you could check. Comparing with mine actually.
I had a very similar 80s Korean Strat... it was ply, but very very well manufactured. The neck was amazing, frets great, but those horrible horrible tuners let it down so much!
I've got a 92 Korean strat, I was lucky as it's got fender tuning pegs and bridge on it. I did have an old Aria pro 2 Andy Summers of the police style, got burgled and bought the squier as a make do, still got it and it plays and sounds great.
I don't think string rollers on the head are stock, I have the same exact guitar from the same year, M2 serial number, everything is stock on this one.
I have one,its a red strat.....Superb guitar plays like a dream

I have a 1991 in black. Awesome neck but weak pickups which I replaced with Alnico 5s.

Bingo, around 8:00, the piece of wood to block the trem.
nice guitar! Good to see someone doing the right fix (a shim) rather than messing with the truss rod
Yes, see to many people messing up neck relief trying to lower action etc
@@SpikeHart those grub screws in the saddles too - a huge sign that the neck tilt was off
It was quicker to just adjust it. So much work
