Jerry is such a nice guy and a huge thanks to him for letting me through the shop again. I have a lot of new guitar videos on the way shot at Jerry's Lefty Guitars! Stay tuned for more. Check him out at jerrysleftyguitars.com
I've bought 2 guitars from this awesome man and I cant thank him enough to have given me the opportunity to do so. Also thanks to you Shane for making this good interview!
I am happy to know about this store. I know you are in transition right. l would love to know what city in Tennessee is nearest to the new store location.
4:48 So true. When we go into a guitar shop, we're looking for the ones we can play and looking at the clips from Jerry's and Southpaw's is like being in a parallel universe.
Going to Jerry’s is on my bucket list!!! What is so cool about his shop is the different brands he has that are awesome. We all love Fenders and Gibsons, but there are so many great brands out there and Jerry’s has the best variety for us southpaws!!! Great interview Shane!!!😎😎🎸🎸🎸🎸🤙🏾🤙🏾😉
Wow! This is unique! Never thought about it... So kinda rewarding that this is a 'review' that's not about something like the latest iteration of a Paul or Strat. Award/Medal! 🥇
Love Jerry! Purchased from him and I can't say enough amazing things about him. When I spoke to him, he mentioned you had to cancel a previous trip, so I'm so glad you were able to make it back. Thx for this Shane!
I was able to visit Jerry's in October of 2021 while in the area. What an extreme pleasure it is to be in a guitar store where you can grab anything off the wall and play it. I've been playing for 40 years and that's the first time I've experienced that. Nothing but absolute primo electrics and acoustics in the store. Jerry's the greatest! If you're a lefty you must visit Jerry's Lefty Guitars.
Jerry’s place is special. Glad to have been there a couple times and have bought a Gretsch there last winter. I’ll miss it when he’s gone to Tennessee!
Darn Shane I wish you could have traveled over to Jimmy's Vintage Music in Auburndale Florida while you were in Florida, just a unique store for used amps and guitars, Joe Bonamossa, Chris Stapleton, Rick Derringer, have all shopped there, only one lefty there right now though, anyway love your channel, been a sub for a long time.
I was surprised to hear Jerry say Eastman guitars are as good and in some cases better than Gibsons. I am a happy owner of an Eastman SB-59/v (though not a lefty!) and I was amazed by the quality of the instrument for a fraction of the price of the Gibson equivalent.
Lefty heaven- Sarasota- Jerry's Guitars- the only place to go uh. Well, it rhymes. Definitely a bucket list shop. Thanks, Shane, for revisiting Lefty Guitars Nirvana!

We needs more guitar builders for left hander. Hopefully we can see more of them. Too many times everything is right hander world left hander is the biggest and underserved market in guitars.
Anybody know where in TN he’s moving? I live close to Nashville and this is going to be terrible for my bank account…. I’m so excited by this news! Haha
It is great news! I live in central Ky, and a trip to Tennessee is a lot more do-able. I am gonna be so broke! Need to start saving up now for that first trip.
Great video Shane! I am in Canada and very few places to find unique lefties. I have purchased two lefties from Jerry and would never hesitate to buy from Jerry again, great to deal with and is an awesome guy. I purchased a custom 2012 Eastman E20D new from Jerry 10 years ago and that guitar is killer. Never have found an acoustic that can match it. Thanks for the vid! Cheers.
I’m kinda in the same boat with Jerry. I play lefty due to missing my left hand. When I first bought a lefty I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to play it or not. I just figured I’d sell it if I couldn’t play. Well that was 20 years ago and I’m still playing lefty’s today. I’d love to check out Jerry’s store.
Worth the trip to Florida alone. Thanks for doing this Shane & Jerry. Im guessing Paul MaCartney owns the other 3 ES guitars :) Ive got an Eastman T486 its an awesome guitar, i do wish they would put reverse taper pots in though and wire them to rotate in the correct direction.
Great video man! I'm a lefty guitarists. Well, I'm a lefty at everything. Years before I picked up guitar I'd hold my dad's in lefty orientation and I'd play air guitar in lefty orientation. I knew who I was at that point. There were many points when I thought . "screw it, maybe I should just learn to play as a righty and not limit my guitar options". At the same time I knew I'd be limited physically so I kept at it. Now I have a small collection of guitars I enjoy playing, I recent ordered my first custom body and neck for a built and I am SLOWLY honing my woodworking skills so one day I can build my own from scratch. Because of the much improved availability of left handed guitars over the past 20 years I don't think nearly as much about it anymore. If I felt at the time, 19 years ago, I could play right handed, sure I would, but I knew then I couldn't then and that is only exacerbated after years of learning. For me the limited guitar options mean there are more opportunities. If the guitar I want doesn't come in lefty, I might have to build my own. If it doesn't come in the colour I want, I guess I need to repaint it. For those aspiring to play, I say that if playing right handed feels good, then play that way. If it feels horribly unnatural and backwards, then welcome to the rabbit hole of the lefty guitarist. You'll find your way!
Hey bro, just wondering if you’ve been in touch with Jerry since this? He’s been missing in action since 2022 and hasn’t responded on any of his business contact links.
I've had my lefty pre CBS Fender Mustang since 1982. My 61 lefty Les Paul Custom was in touched until I paid $175 for it in the late 80's . Lefties unite!
Jerry is the best. I made the trip to go see him in Sarasota a few years ago and I ended up buying a Tom Anderson. Jerry was so nice and accommodating. I’m looking forward to seeing Jerry move his shop to TN!
Holy S**T!!! This is my dream store!! As a lefty it is a little tricky sometimes to find guitars, at least w/out paying a bunch extra. I learned how to play (9 yrs old) on my dad’s right handed acoustic and his Fenders and Rickenbackers. It’s fun watching peoples reactions when I do pick up a RH guitar & start jamming away left handed…. But when I try and play a RH guitar right handed it’s a complete disaster 😅….🤘🎸
Great vedio. Having lived in north Georgia se Tennessee ,was thinking how neet it would be if he could commission some guitars to be made from the wood from his property. Lots of maple oak, popular walnut persimmon, cedar and hickory from that state. Also lots of luither talent.
I had no idea about Jerry's Lefty Guitars!!! I think that's fantastic. I'm also glad Moon made an appearance. I could tell Jerry was petting a dog, and am glad I got to see her. (Obviously I hadn't discovered Shane's Channel when he did the previous video.) As I've probably mentioned before, I do more things left handed than I do right-handed, but because the world is basically "built" for Right-Handers, in addition to a lot of "not so gentle" corrections when I'd try to do things Lefty, forcing me (I guess in their opinion) the "right" direction (with which I definitely disagree), I am fully aware of how difficult finding things for Lefty's is. Thank you, Jerry for filling that need. Also, thanks again to Jerry for facilitating this video. I'm looking forward to seeing your new location. Thanks for another great video, Shane. Please keep them coming!!
"The Chisels are calling, it's time to make sawdust..." Knopfler wrote a song about John Montelione. Great upload, a veritable Dream, a Guitar store for Southpaws. Thanks Shane.
So, a long time ago I was playing The House of Blues in New Orleans. The guy who was running things backstage introduced himself as "Lefty". When I noticed that he was actually right handed, I asked him why they call him lefty. He replied " Everyone is always saying that I ain't right." True story! :-)
Thank you for this wonderful interview. I'm up to 18 left-handed basses and guitars now. I am so glad Jerry is such a force in the left-handed world. Good luck on the move!
As a lefty in the UK, I find the availability comes in peaks and troughs every 10 years or so. It’s like all the manufacturers decide there isn’t a market all at once and scale back to one or two models, then we buy up the stuff on the walls and they decide to bring out of bunch of lefty models again. In 25 years I’ve managed to pick up a 12 string Rick, an EVH USA, a 10 top PRS, a Gibson V and Explorer, and some nice Gretsches including a Bo Diddley model, as well as the more typical shapes and brands. Currently we’re in a good place for lefties, but I’ve noticed Fender cutting some of their lines especially mid-range.
The million dollars question is ‘are left hand guitars necessary’? Short answer is no. Like the violin and flute everyone learns to play righthanded. Plus it’s a real pain in the rear end for a guitar company to produce left handed guitars. Long answer is yes. Because leftists will eventually find a niche market that caters to their needs. So the major guitar companies might as well make “some” money on leftists.
Jerry is such a nice guy and a huge thanks to him for letting me through the shop again. I have a lot of new guitar videos on the way shot at Jerry's Lefty Guitars! Stay tuned for more. Check him out at jerrysleftyguitars.com
