It would have liked to see the clothes on women who actually HAVE a tummy... everything looks good on the models here :( for example: if I am short, not skinny and want to hide the tummy, some flowy things will just make me look pregnant.
Shevie Chen I am petite and... in the pictures I showed of me after baby, I definitely have a tummy that I'm hiding. I think it's all about proportion. Find flowy tops that are not too long (hip bone is a good bench mark) and not too much fabric. If it's too flowy, and not skimming the body enough, you are right, you will look knocked up...which is not a good look, unless you are, in fact, knocked up. ;) Thanks so much for watching! Erin xo

When us ladies are going through our sweats, hormones being a pain, wearing shape wear or body wear can really makes the sweating issue worse! But wearing a cooler flowing blouse ot top helps & wearing a nice cool slip top underneath is better. In my opinion. But thank you for your advice X

I may be totally wrong, but perhaps switching to manual focus on this type of video will keep it from refocusing every few seconds. I say this not because of noise, but the constant focusing was a big deterrent. Aside from that :) ... Great topic to conquer..enjoyed it!

Erin I overlooked the sound and lil blurriness because I was more interested in what you had to say!! As I'm loosing and yes we (hubby and I) workout 3-4 days a week .. Dr is pushing me harder because one of my BS meds causes weight gain .. My problem is the lower part of my stomach .. I'm working on that and right now focusing on loosing 20 pounds before sept vacation trip... I do most of what you mentioned.. I haven't bought any new jeans yet because I'm waiting to see how this workout/loss goes .. And with summer I'm in comfy shirts most of the time.. But was glad to know the tops I've chosen were the right idea for me!! Always love your vlogs!! And yours and Marnies new Clinique video was really good!! Of makeup.. Lipstick/glosses is my weakness!! Carol

Hey Erin...thanks for the great video!! Uhm...does the under the bust Spanx have a trap door for...you know...those occasions?? I'm not an expert but my son has a You Tube channel and he educates me. It seems that your new lens is very sensitive to focusing to subjects which is good for some applications but not for this. Also the "froggy"...hehe noise we hear is a result of the lens moving in and out when focusing...sorry. Hope this helps. BTW...love your lipstick! Can you share the color? Thanks again

Yes, pointed toe pumps and flats will be elongating for sure, but often more narrow through toes. Nothing wrong with a more classic, rounded toe. Erin xo
Thank you for the great tips. I have to wear a brown corset style suede top for an upcoming film. I can pick the dress pants/skirt/ palazzo and top that goes under it, but I can't wear black. How can I wear this corset and still look slim (especially around the tummy) and hopefully look taller at the same time?

Loved this video! It was so helpful! Thank you! As a mom of 4, one set of twins in there, my tummy has become my nemesis! While I don't have a weight issue, I do have a height issue. I am 5'11" and need the extra length, 35" inseam work best and I don't see that NYDJ has tall sizes. Do you have any suggestions? Secondly, on the shapewear, I am a size 8 or 10 in most clothing, so between the two sizes of M or L for the shapewear. When in doubt, should I go smaller or larger in the shapewear sizing? Great content but how do you buy shape wear to keep it from rolling up on the thighs and butt? I am very curvy in the butt and thighs and my slip shaper always rides up and my spanx type pants shapers always roll up on my thighs. Ultimately I end up cutting the legs off but then they are constricting in the crease of my thighs...sigh. P. S. I like my curves and not trying to minimize my rear just my tummy area and smooth everything out.
I've tried spanx tops and bottoms and I've found that the second I move, they either roll down (when wearing briefs) or roll up (w/ Camis) - so uncomfortable! Is it just me? I'm petite, 5'2" 115 lbs and sometimes just want to cinch in my midsection.

Be encouraged. I have a tummy and no children to show! Hiding my tummy is important for that (non) reason! (Hereditary belly-fat curse I'm trying to break!) Everywhere seems to get smaller but the belly! A sedentary job of sitting over several years will get you that shape, too! It seems to swell during the day, but when I awake on mornings, it's flatter, though.
Tamera Weeks Some women have lean elastic skin that snaps back into place, Nothing moves them! Some have inelastic skin - when it moves out of place...it stays there! My mother made six as well, and tummy remained.

Ladies...if you hv a tummy problem, & I do...lose the weight. I know none of us want to hear that, but trying to suck your tummy in with spandex & wearing empire or flowing garments is a temporary fix. But it's still there. I had 5 children, twins last. I had no trouble losing my tummy. I did breast feed & ate what I only needed to focusing on my children & their needs. With the children gone, I now do less & eat more. But in 4 months or less, you can lose 20 lbs. Walk everyday...7 days a week 30-45 minutes. Stay away from sugar & eat sensibly. You don't hv to do sit ups. Hanging leg lifts are better. It works. You may say..then why do you hv a tummy now. Because I fell off the wagon😳. It happens. I'm back to walking & eating better. Ladies...look to yourself. You are the only one who can fix this problem

I know you probably don't have a crystal ball, but regarding high-waisted jeans/pants, I know several years back the thought of these made everyone think 'Mom jeans, oh no!' and now for the past few years they have been back in style-thankfully! Just wondering if your opinion is that they're here to stay now?

Yes, pointed toe pumps and flats will be elongating for sure, but often more narrow through toes. Nothing wrong with a more classic, rounded toe. Erin xo

Loved this video! It was so helpful! Thank you! As a mom of 4, one set of twins in there, my tummy has become my nemesis! While I don't have a weight issue, I do have a height issue. I am 5'11" and need the extra length, 35" inseam work best and I don't see that NYDJ has tall sizes. Do you have any suggestions? Secondly, on the shapewear, I am a size 8 or 10 in most clothing, so between the two sizes of M or L for the shapewear. When in doubt, should I go smaller or larger in the shapewear sizing? Please do what shoes to wear with bootcut jeans and pants, in skinny jeans I can do anything, and on bootcut jeans k have my entire outfit on point and my shoes are just bad

Great content but how do you buy shape wear to keep it from rolling up on the thighs and butt? I am very curvy in the butt and thighs and my slip shaper always rides up and my spanx type pants shapers always roll up on my thighs. Ultimately I end up cutting the legs off but then they are constricting in the crease of my thighs...sigh. P. S. I like my curves and not trying to minimize my rear just my tummy area and smooth everything out.
Just do the skirt slip... I think that should stay put!! Yes, show off the curves and work with what momma gave you!! 😉
I've tried spanx tops and bottoms and I've found that the second I move, they either roll down (when wearing briefs) or roll up (w/ Camis) - so uncomfortable! Is it just me? I'm petite, 5'2" 115 lbs and sometimes just want to cinch in my midsection.
Try the ones with straps that go under your bust.. It won't roll down! Erin xo

+Busbee Style ha ha ha That made me laugh! They are all older now. Their ages range from 27 - 13. It's much much easier to manage now. :) When they were younger it was just a lot of chaos. lol
Be encouraged. I have a tummy and no children to show! Hiding my tummy is important for that (non) reason! (Hereditary belly-fat curse I'm trying to break!) Everywhere seems to get smaller but the belly! A sedentary job of sitting over several years will get you that shape, too! It seems to swell during the day, but when I awake on mornings, it's flatter, though.

Tamera Weeks Some women have lean elastic skin that snaps back into place, Nothing moves them! Some have inelastic skin - when it moves out of place...it stays there! My mother made six as well, and tummy remained.

Ladies...if you hv a tummy problem, & I do...lose the weight. I know none of us want to hear that, but trying to suck your tummy in with spandex & wearing empire or flowing garments is a temporary fix. But it's still there. I had 5 children, twins last. I had no trouble losing my tummy. I did breast feed & ate what I only needed to focusing on my children & their needs.
With the children gone, I now do less & eat more. But in 4 months or less, you can lose 20 lbs. Walk everyday...7 days a week 30-45 minutes. Stay away from sugar & eat sensibly. You don't hv to do sit ups. Hanging leg lifts are better. It works. You may say..then why do you hv a tummy now. Because I fell off the wagon😳. It happens. I'm back to walking & eating better. Ladies...look to yourself. You are the only one who can fix this problem
Can ppl with a leftover pregnancy tummy lol wear skirts? I am really skinny all over and still have some tummy which makes me look I am few months pregnant again ;) can you suggest what kind of skirts will look good...
Avoid pleats or anything with gathering and lots of fabric. Try a sleek pencil skirt or a minimal, a-line skirt! Erin xo
