As someone who grew up in Oxford, its crazy watching you explore it… things I’m so used to seeing and took for granted.
Lucky you! I have lived in California all my life where nothing is old. I have wanted to live I in the UK since
I can remember. It’s just stunning
Funny ! I’ve always wanted to live in USA ❤
I know what you mean. My Yorkshire Mum went to Switzerland and the kind people were so used to the magnificence, the ultimate cleanliness of towns and cities !!!
I to, am from Oxford originally. Watching this makes me realise the same thing. Mad how we don't always appreciate what's around us.
i grew up just down the road to oxford in bicester, but back in the late 70s, i do represent oxford in atheletics running the 1500m and cross country in the winter, our home track, which you will know well was ifley road where roger bannister broke the 4 minute mile, i also respresented oxfordhire in cricket and football during my school years, i ran for oxford juniors at crystal palace in the AAA's 2 years running
It's wonderful to see Andrew's growth from a fun, goofy and dramatic kid ( in the best way possible) to a young man full of excitement, knowledge and love for England's history. ❤
Nicely written! ❤😉
@@rebeccagilman2020 Thank you. 💞
I love how much pride they have to keep buildings and homes taken care of so much that they last that long.
There are programs on UA-cam about restoration of buildings in the UK , I dare say that there are some in the USA , there are about 4 categories of buildings the top ones being Grade 1 and Grade 2 .
1 being the top and the councils ( even the government ) have very special people that control what you can and can't do ranging what paint colour , clay , bricks , type of timber and it's colour and fixings and it's just not the inside but also the external as well , if bricks are used even the mortar colour between the bricks 😂
Look on UA-cam for the programs ,
Everything was so clean, orderly, pretty and peaceful! There were no noisy planes, trains and automobiles! That was very nice. I am thankful that you all are enjoying Andrew's trip😊
Too quiet for me- I ❤️ London👏
In just a few weeks time it won't be at all peaceful. You won't be able to move for tourists. Although the weather looked a bit grim the Knorpps picked a good time of year to visit.
Like all countries, we have plenty of noisy places should you desire!!!
@@essanjay8604 yes it will be noisy and packed for most of the summer
Thank you, Knorpp family, for all the wonderful experiences you have made available to all of us. Andrew picked some great places to visit. I’m too old to do much traveling now but I get to go/do a lot of things through your videos. It’s like having a family to be with in adventures.❤️
I’m always blown away by how much beautiful architecture there is in Britain. It’s incredible! I’m sure it is even more breathtaking seeing it all in person. I sure hope to visit Europe someday.
It is so interesting how each of your seniors choose a country reflective of their personalities and interests.
I never tire of seeing my local area through others’ eyes! I was born and raised in the north Cotswolds and grew up in a Cotswold stone cottage that was built in the mid 18th century. I worked for many years in Oxford too which was wonderful. I now live in the southern Cotswolds, near to Bath, and it’s stunning. My family has come from this area for about 350 years so it’s in my blood now 😂. Glad you enjoyed the trip….💚🧡
We were taking a family trip next week to London but due to medical issues I will stay back. Your vlogs have dampened the blow and I feel like it was God’s little way of giving me the beautiful sites which warms my heart. I am so thankful ♥️
I think what I appreciate the most about your trip to England, is how clean it is. The stone cottages and old roads, etc. Absolutely beautiful! Thanks again for taking us to England with you all! They for sure built houses, cottages, roads and churches to last a long, long, time!
Don't be fooled - we have plenty of rundown scruffy areas too! The Cotswolds is just one small area that has been preserved for the benefit of tourists.
@@essanjay8604 thank you for the information. Hopefully, one day, I will get to see and experience England for myself!
@@essanjay8604 What nonsense. Britain is packed full of beautiful old towns and villages. For the best part of a century all old buildings have been protected by law, and the British countryside has been protected from being spoiled by having new buildings erected on it. It's nothing to do with benefitting tourists. Stephanie - come over!
@thegroovetube3247 We have plenty of run down scruffy areas too - as I said. The majority of places are nothing like the Costwolds. When you visit in summer it feels like a theme park absolutely stuffed with coachloads of tourists.
Throughout your renovation series, I’ve been thinking Megan would love an Oxfordshire country kitchen. So happy you got to see one! Happy Saturday, Knorpps ✨
Thank You all so much, for taking us on the trip with you. I may never get to visit all the places I’ve dreamed of. But seeing some of them through the lens of some of my favorite UA-camr’s is a great blessing. I pray you all had a wonderful time. As always I look forward to seeing your future posts. God Bless.
So delighted you're enjoying the Cotswolds and the UK! One of the prettiest parts of the UK. It's just your kind of place Megan, so I'm delighted you got the chance to go there! It's great to see the place again through your eyes! It's where we got married in a beautiful old English church and where my Hubby's family live. For information, it's called Millionaire Shortbread and the stone roofs are made of slate. Enjoy! 🥰💜👍
Thank You for taking us on your amazing trip as it enables those of us who cannot travel enjoy the trips through your lens😊
It’s pronounced bye- bury, Bi - bury :) sons father grew up in that village, it’s beautiful. Thanks for sharing! Oh and the old row of cottages is where they filmed the movie stardust!
Who knew! Love that
Thanks for sharing. Great movie (better book ha ha)
OMG that cottage and village were so quaint. Felt like I had time travelled back 500 years. Do not know how you were able to leave such beauty. I could not have.....
Something I never considered as a Brit on the rules around food. Pasties (like what you got at the village shop) are normally eaten by hand, pies (like what Andrew ordered at the restaurant) with cutlery. 😂
We call them pasties here in NZ too. Most of our normal pies are eaten by hand as well as alot of people buy them in dairys(like 7 elevens)and eat them on the go.
Is it about size?
@@livvehult8119 I haven’t got a clue. 😂 Its just what we do.
Yeah, I was thinking the same!
The crust on a pastie was made to be discarded. Working men (eg farmers) would eat them (with less than clean hands) then throw the crust to the birds. Clever idea hey?
Fun fact the pie that Mike had was more a pasty the miners used to take them and hold the crust with their dirty hands and then discard it once the pasty had been eaten. The thing with chocolate on is called millionaire's shortbread. Shortbread biscuit base, caramel then topped with chocolate 🥰
My favourite… yum yum 😋
2 of my faves Pasties and Millionaire Shortbread! 🤤
I am loving England! It truly looks like a fairytale. The area your cottage is in actually gave me goosebumps when I saw it. Thank you for sharing.
Andrew sure has matured and he's grown into such a very handsome young man! I'm so glad he chose England with its amazing history.
Welc9me to our gorgeous country. The "hand pies" are pasties. Traditional to Cornwall. The minors took them down the pit, underground. They held them by the thick pastry crust and ate the pasty, discarding the thick pastry bit they held as it would be dirty from their hands. Xx 🇬🇧
They also put sweet in one end and savoury in the other. So they say 😊
Yeah tell them to go to STOKE,LEICESTER, SHEFFIELD,HULL,GRIMSBY or LUTON then people will see how our country isn't all beautiful with rainbows and unicorns.. Lols
Wow I hope you enjoy the Cotswold I live in Cotswold myself i here for 36 years so all my life
Andrew has such an old timey soul this fits him perfectly and goes with his ghost walk tours. Only day 2 I feel like y'all done so much already.
Megan when she swirled ☺️
Mike looks a little 🤏 rested
Enjoy and safe travels 💕
England is sooo Andrew. 🥰👏🏻👏🏻
What an amazing trip. I have always wanted to see England, but this is the next best thing. Thank you for sharing your trip, Andrew. So much history and these quaint villages are just beautiful! Looking forward to the next installment!
As a Brit, I'd like to say this is just a small snapshot of the UK. Not all of it looks like that. There's a lot of newer buildings too
@@calm98And Absolute dumps..
You guys need to visit The Jurrasic Coast. It's a world heritage sight where you can find dinosaur fossils! in Dorset! My home town! (Lulworth Cove, Durdle door, Bournemouth, Christchurch, Weymouth, Lyme Regis! IT WON'T DISAPPOINT!
You were so close to me!! (20min drive) I hope you had an amazing time.
Thank you for taking us with you.Sitting down for a quick break before the open house for our second child and youngest daughter begins. She’s graduating high school tonight.
The cake is called a Millionaire's shortbread or caramel shortbread. It's a classic Scottish dessert. My husband is Scottish and he loves them😊
My mum was Scottish and she loved them too. In Australia we call them caramel slice. :)
I love them too yum yum 😋
Heart warming to see you enjoying england.
So odd to watch others visit and explore my hometown, Oxford. So glad you visit the covered market!
Why??
15:37 Arlington Row, Henry Ford tried to buy that street and ship it stone by stone back to the USA and rebuild it, he didn't obviously. He did buy one cottage (dates from 1619) though and that is on display in the Greenfield Village section of the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Michigan.
Those hand pies are actually Pastie’s delicious it’s a stunning area so glad you had such fun the quaintest of places and Harry Potter heaven beautiful stunning cottage Great choice Andrew
I hope you got to go thrifting at least once. Thank you for taking us along on y'all's adventure. I can just imagine how this is sparking Megan's creativity and her house plans. ❤
I L❤ve this so much!!! I Must Get There with my girls (now 24 & 18) AND Must Make Pasties!!! This is actually one of my favorite of your videos, so picturesque and history rich!!! ❤🎉
I love seeing my local area through another perspective, so I'm super pleased you all had a great time. I'm from the Cotswolds and regularly visit Oxford, so I easily take the area for granted.
The chocolate square you had when you had ‘meat pies’ is called ‘Millionaire’s Shortbread’
Love Andrew , such an intelligent and polite boy .. god bless him xx❤❤❤
Come to think of it, it was very quiet wasn't it. I love those cottages, Also love the little villages. When you showed the Churches, I felt like I could just go sit down and have a quiet think about whatever. I love to do that in an old church, where there is no one inside. So peaceful. Enjoy that trip, it's all beautiful.
I've never been this fast!! I get so excited to get the video notifications. I live an hour away from Oxford and have never gotten the chance to explore it. It's so beautiful 😍😍. I really need to go one day, I literally only go there for the Oxford Eye Hospital.
Loved it!! Thank you for taking the time to share!! ❤
Megan, I want you to make a month of hand pies! Please!
Yaaaaas!!!!😂
Thank you for sharing this. I now know why my mother loved England so much.
Beautiful indeed!!
Oh I could watch you video this for hours. Thank you so much for taking us along looking forward to more
Always love the way you photograph your trips and show us what you are seeing. It’s like you are reading my mind and showing exactly what I want to see. Thank you for taking us along on your trips. Love this channel so much.
Beautiful, cute, amazing, breathtaking…there are simply not enough words to describe what we are seeing! Thank you Andrew for picking such a magnificent place to visit! ❤️
Love the Dutch door I had one years ago. Beautiful villages and houses.
Such a pretty area! The old buildings are so beautiful and quaint.
The Air BNB home is so awesome! Glad to see you are all having such a nice time.
The Cotswolds really are beautiful. I got engaged there almost exactly 5 years ago, it was dreamy.
pie is eaten with a knife and fork ;) and in the UK when cute meets beautiful it's 'Quaint' :) love your vids and lovely that your in my home country... :)
Hi Ryan's mom Sam here...i live in the UK and watch your vlogs to see what you get up to in America now you are in my country and i get to watch you admire and love our beautiful countryside and history 😂 enjoy the rest of your trip xx
WOW, Thank you so very much. I love these tours. I love history and architecture. Just love you taking me with you on your trips. 😊
If it's rainy/cold you're getting the true feel of England!
Like walking through a Thomas Kincaid painting. Megan thank you so much for starting the tour of the Airb&b from across the street. It really gave a good sense of how amazing it all is. This was amazing!
Thank you so much for bringing us with you on this trip!!! So beautiful!
So beautiful! ❤ Thank you for taking us along your trip! I can’t wait for the next vlog! ☺️🤗
By far the best video I've seen. Love when you go on trips with each of your children. You 2 are very special parents. ❤
Wow, thanks for taking us along, breathtaking!!
What amazing memories for Andrew as well as y’all. Thx for sharing all the beauty.
That wasn’t a pie you ate at the community shop, it was a Pasty. They originated in Cornwall where it’s the national dish but copied all over the world. I am Cornish and eating a Pasty as I watch this video 😊 you are right when you said they are meant to eaten by hand. They were originally created for Cornish miners, they would eat it holding the crust, so only the crust got dirty which was then discarded. One end was savoury and the other was dessert.
Fun fact: The Awkward Hill Cottage place is owned by an author who writes Gardening books! I am so enjoying this trip!!!
Simply Lovely
Thank you for taking us along
Studied here for 3 weeks in May 2019! Never had the opportunity to film my travels and the fact that you are shared yours on UA-cam made by whole day. Brought back lots of memories!! Thank you
The opening driving scene brought back many memories of driving in different countries. In British Virgin Islands in the Caribbean they drive American cars using British road rules. Surprisingly the same thing happens in STThomas in USA Virgin Islands.
My Canadian brother i n law actually moved over on his front passenger seat and pulled his legs up once as he got a fright! I remember being horrified when I saw a lady totally focused on texting g...in the driver's seat coming towards us! Deep in the South Island of NZ the roads some times have white arrows painted on the road lanes to remind tourist!Airport pick up rentals can be challenging enough on there own from having to ask for help to find the hand break, (it was our first foot hand brake ) to trying to get out of the extensive car park!!
Loving your visit.
Another beautiful and amazing video! What an incredible trip you're having!
The buildings that you're talking about the stone that you like it looks like cobblestone like what they make the streets out of😊
Hey Knorrps glad you are enjoying Oxford. Glad you brought the weather with you. 😊
Have lots of fun and be safe❤❤❤
Oh my! One charming thing after another! Your little stone cottage was adorable...and beautiful! What a great trip.
I love the Cotswolds. We stayed in the same AirBNB last month whilst visiting family and had dinner at the Catherine Wheel. Arlington Row is just beautiful. I was born in the UK but live in Australia.
Wow, what a coincidence!
How I enjoyed this !!!
Thank you so much for sharing.
Fantastic trip👍😘

Another beautiful day in England. You’re making me want to go back! It’s been 18 years since I was last there!
All so amazing!!! Thank you for sharing!! 🥰👏🏻👌🏻
The scenery is so beautiful…at times it looks like a painting. Great trip Andrew!
Thank you Andrew, for letting us share in your spectacular adventure. Awesome find on the B&B Andrew.
Beautiful! Thank you!
As always thanks for sharing and glad you havung a good time despite the weather.
Just great!! Glad everyone is having a nice time.. Kindness ....Lochness Scottish Highlands..
Those things you called hand pies we would call pasties. The most famous ones are made in Cornwall and in the past the tin miners used to take one for their lunch- they could hold the edge crusts with their dirty hands, eat the middle bit and then throw the dirty crust to the sea gulls.
In Michigan and Montana (and probably other places in the US) they sell Cornish pasties with rutabaga (Swede) and potato and beef chunks. They are wonderful. My mother taught me to make them and I love them. I haven’t made them in ages and will do so immediately!
@@janetbyrne7765 sounds lovely could just eat on right now but will have to wait until August because am going on my first road trip across UK all way from east Yorkshire to Cornwall for weeks holiday going to take us 7 hours to get there wont get there until teatime setting off at 6am in morning
