Don't feel bad about that fuel mileage. While I will be in the market for a car like this within the next 6-12 months, I currently drive a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee with the 4.0 inline six. While it is a reliable engine, it made less than 200hp new (even less than that now, in 2023 with 148k on the clock), and I average 13.3 MPG with about 60-70% surface street driving and 30-40% freeway driving.
Next time you think about how you hate the fuel efficiency, think about it like this. There are people out there driving cars with ~60% *_less_* power than a C63 AMG, and still getting *_worse_* mpg.
My personal philosophy is that, if I'm going to get 10-15mpg, it better make enough power to justify it, and unlike my Jeep, the C63 AMG makes enough power to justify getting 10-15mpg.

Had mine two weeks,2013 black coupe,64000 miles,
Have to say I love it,fuel is heavy but such a great car, double edged bonkers or cruiser,
I'm 51 and drive like an old fanny most of the time but I love the sound when I step on it.
Sures it old technology but what a machine.

      @swansmeister 2 роки тому

Thats because you only driven it and not owned it, I did own one and the fuel consumption is just retarded, I expected it ofc after having different M/// cars and fast Audi's but my s204 c63's consumption was just retarded, 110euro for a full gastank anbd did 300km with it. They also have many issues if you are unlucky, you litteraly have to hope yours doesnt have them. It's a beast of a car but thats about it.

Also, the suspension aint comfy at all, literally every reviewer said so and all press cars were delivered on 18 inch wheels because the 19 inch wheels made it feel like you were riding on wooden wheels it's that hard. I had one so can confirm it's not even close to a comfortable car, the Lotus exige s2 I had was more comfortable.

@@swansmeister I've had a 2012 c63 coupe with 19" wheels for 8 years now. Purely compared to other cars I have or currently own, I can say it's noticeably more comfortable (and much less tyre noise) than a 911 c2S gen 1. Compared to a 2014 BMW330d Msport it has a noticeably harder ride. You dont really notice at speed, but in town over pot holes its definitely not plush!

I've been spending the better part of 2 months now researching the W204 C63, the Lexus ISF, the 2nd Gen CTS-V, and the E92/E93 M3. Since all four of those cars cost around the same, and all of them have strong highpoints and low points, I simply can not decide which route I want to take. Everytime I learn something new I get pulled into one direction or another, and at the end of the day I NEVER know which one I would go for.
That said, based on everything I've seen *so far,* the BMW seems to be the best driving experience, but at the cost of risking being stranded due to catastrophic engine failure, the C63 has the best exhaust sound, and torque is pretty much on demand, but the fuel octane recommended by MB isn't even sold in my state, meaning every tank of gas needs a bottle of octane booster if I want 93 octane in a state that doesn't sell it, and LOTS of research is required to find one that hasn't been treated like shit or poorly maintained over 50k-150k miles.
The ISF seems to be the most reliable but isn't necessarily the best in *_any one_* specific department (aside from reliability marks), but *_is_* the most *_well-rounded_* car of the line-up, which would be good (possibly the best) for an evwry-day driver, and the CTS-V, while being the heaviest car of the four, it is also the only one that's packaged with a supercharger, and could be argued as having the most comfortable ride of the 4, even if only by a small margin.
That said, whatever issues these cars may have, there has been enough time for the manufacturer, _and the aftermarket_ to address, and find solutions to these problems.
Find the reliability issues with the E9x M3 scary and don't want to deal with them? Find one that's had the throttle actuator and rod bearings fixed.
Find the headbolt and overheating issue with the C63 daunting? Upgrade the cooling, and find one that's had the headbolts issue addressed and fixed.
Find the steering in the ISF numb? There's a multi-faceted solution that's worth investing in
Find the heat soak issue on the CTS-V annoying? You can replace the stock hood with a vented hood, and you can upgrade the cooling.
There is not ONE single known issue with ANY of these cars that DOESN'T have a solution available to them.
There's a lot more I could say here but I think you get my point.
For myself, I'm just going to have to test drive each and every one of those four cars before I can finally decide which one I actually decide to buy. It's hard for me now because *_all four_* of those cars are a dream car for me.

Only reason I dropped buying these is no manual trans option. Flipping paddles is boring and not the same experience. Sure auto tech is much faster than manuals these days but true enthusiasts don’t care. Mercedes and Audi keeps dropping the ball on this. At least bmw still offers manual for most of the M flagship cars.
