- We are off on our biannual houseboat holiday with a group total of nine people. We leave for this trip in early July 2022 to leave from Mannum South Australia where we will spend a total of seven nights aboard the Unforgettable 5 houseboat.
From Mannum, we head upstream towards Walkers Flat where we only manage to travel for 32 kilometres before we then turn back for Mannum. It isn’t the distance that we travel each day that makes the holiday worthwhile, it is the way we use our time that makes it an enjoyable time away.

That’s what a holiday in my opinion should be , relax exactly how you want . Looked very nice , that boat was better than my house . Jealous of you puppy sitting , we have three older dogs . They are wonderful and I’m very thankful to have them.🥰🐾👍👍❤great video thank you
Glad you liked it Sassy, it would have to have been one of the most relaxed times away we have had for some time. We lose the two dogs today only to get another two in a few days time, what we do as parents for our kids👍❤❤👍

There are some very nice boats out there for hire.
We had a family reunion (we filled 2 x 4 bedroom house boats) out of Morgan. Still one of our families most talked about adventures! Thanks for sharing!

My late Brother inlaw and hid father the Pritchards from Cudlee Creek had a shack at Teal Flat back in the 50's

River Boats eh, gee I can remember seeing the Marion and Merle back late 40's
Yes some of them have been around for a very long time now. It is good to see them still going down the rivers.

@@dougtilley5977 you might be correct. The Marion is always moored at Mannum when we are there, I have never seen it going down the river.
@@justcruisinwithmicksally837 Major restoration work was undertaken with great love and attention to detail. This work has involved many tens of thousands of volunteer man hours. The superstructure has been restored to what it was in her heyday as a passenger steamer, with cabins, lounges, dining room, galley and bathrooms. Marion was recommissioned in November 1994.

Thanks wim, another truck video will be hard to do without something different happening along the way as each trip is the same and there are location restrictions on filming where we deliver to making it hard to get varied content. As soon as an opportunity arises to record, rest assured it will happen.

Nice VLOG. What was total distanced travelled. How fast did you go up stream and down stream. What was hourly burn on the engines.
We only went approximately 30kms upstream which did use more fuel than I would have thought but we enjoyed our time and that is what counts. The amount of fuel used I cant recall now, sorry.
I haven't been on a houseboat for years, reminded me of how enjoyable, relaxing and an opportunity to just unwind and connect with friends and family. Although, my Uncle drove last time and smashed one of the bathroom windows trying to moor too close to some dead fallen trees lol. Great vid Mick, some of those sunrises and sunsets were magical and there's just something mystical about a cool foggy morning on the river.

A normal car licence allows you to take control of a houseboat.
Those scones looked amazing ,do you think the ladies could share their recipe ,oh and the boat ride looked great too

Annette, the scone recipe is called Basic Scones with the following ingredients used.
Plain flour for dusting
3 cups self-raising flour
80g butter, chilled and cubed
1-1 1/4 cups milk
Jam to serve
Whipped cream to serve
Enjoy the scones, we certainly did.
hello may i ask how the electricity system work? is it all from the boat engine? or need additional power appliance like solar panels ?
It is all run from a automatic battery bank that is charged via a generator.
in curiosity how much does a houseboat cost to hire
It will depend on how big they are, room numbers and layouts. They can range from 1k to 3k or perhaps even more for a week's hire. This will also change depending on what time of the year you hire them for.
The Unforgettable fleet are terrible these days. Mark & Lee-Anne Flanagan built an amazing fleet of boats and since they sold the company they’ve never looked good. Just look at all the paint chipped railing. You won’t see that on any of the boats in the Kia Marina fleet. Next time look at Moon Dance or Liquid Gold.
A friend went on an unforgettable boat and the spa cover was broken, water stains on the interior ceiling and a dodgy port side outboard. Worst holiday they had. At least you had a good experience.
It is very hard to find a company that has been sold to be as good as it original owners, not saying that this is always the case but normally is. We did have a great holiday but in saying that I did find the boat to be not as good as I had expected.
Women just love making Scones
They are masters at making them.
