I used to collect Depression glass and have several sets so I found your dishes so interesting. Not many of the younger people seem to be interested in old "stuff" like I was in the 70's and 80's. Thanks for showing.
I loved your find! I grew up with Butterfly Gold, so that struck me. I don't remember the glasses, so that would be such a good find. Now you have to look for the pitcher!! Thank you for showing!
So many pretties but I especially love the Butterfly gold glasses!!!! It's my favourite pattern and I have never seen those glasses before. Probably won't ever see them around here but I love living vicariously through your videos!! Thanks for sharing Michelle xox
This was, as always, an awesome haul. The milk glass plates are, imo, the best pick. I love them! You have the best luck & inspire me to get to my local thrift stores more often. Thanks, Michelle!
Pie plates in general can be quite collectible. My sister collects vintage Homer Laughlin pie plates. Certain colors are worth more, but always fun to pick up regardless of the maker. Someone will always want to add to their collection.
I love those Fire King Plates and I've never seen that pattern either! I usually see the Primrose or the Fleurette patterns. I really should be listing right now dang it!
Hi there, Michelle! That turquoise vase and the honeysuckle Fire King plates are so fun!! Also, just as an fyi, a lot of times the #s on the back of porcelain plates are pattern #s or decorator #s. Great weekend haul. : )
Thanks D....I thought maybe they were the pattern numbers also, I read on the Meakin website that they were used to keep track of employees..thats kinda like the decorator I guess xoxo michelle
Your "cameraman" does an excellent job of filming you and your collections. It's a pleasure to watch your videos. I love glass and the same pieces you do! 🌺🌺🌺thank u for the info, makes me happy too!
Thanks Beauty Lover!!! Cameraman is very happy to be appreciated he said thank you xo. Glad you enjoy my vidoes so kind of you to comment xoxo michelle :)
Yes, I saw the wall and my heart sank! Glad it's not keeping you down. It's great that Cameraman is able to fix it himself. The refrigerator dish is lovely. I found a clear one but not sure of its age. I also found a yellow pyrex bowl in a square shape! I had never known that such a bowl existed. Apparently, it came with a lid, originally. It wasn't in the best shape,so I tried BKF-- it took some of the colour off,so I stopped. Hope you have a good week.
Hi Lorna..thank you..the winds and rain that followed after the hurricane were so much worse then the storm itself..what are ya gonna do right? Thank you for your kind words...I have the square red bowl! Try "Peek" to polish up the yellow piece, I have a yellow bowl and used that and it looks great! xox Michelle
What is SPC? I had the Lady with the umbrella. We had a store. In my city 30 years ago, that sold figurines. I think it was called The Collection Series. I started a collection, but over time, either sold or gave away. I recognized the Lady with The Umbrella and maybe The Lady with Flowers. So often, now,I see items that were either in my family, or items,I purchssed. Now,I have been downsizing for sometime and often get nostalgic, when I see these items on the Thrifters. One day,my daughters will, probably sell everyrhing!!. I love ANTIQUES, VINTAGE, ART DECO NOUVEAU, MORE THAN MODERN, BUT I NEVER ESTABLISHED A SPECIFIC TASTE. I LOVE ALL OF YOUR PURCHASES. I WOULD LOVE THE FRUIT TOO,CHERRY PYREX CASSEROLE DISH.
Thanks Lillian...I think you are referring the SPCA..I might have said it wrong...humane society...I also love so many different things! My kids already told me they don't want anything..I am currently working on my 4 yr old granddaughter lolol...xo
Michelle, how can you tell if a Corningware Cornflower blue is brand new or vintage? Is the stamp different? I recently saw several pieces at a local thrift store but couldn’t tell if they were older or new! Cornflower pattern is still being produced today. Added: love seeing all of your finds!!
Thanks Over 50! Good question. The older cornflower blue is made of pyroceram and the newer produced into the 80's was made of stoneware, stoneware is NOT to be used on stovetop and usually states this. It is usually stamped on bottom. They continued to make cornflower blue under the simple name of "Cornflower" until 1996 but I do not believe they made casseroles then. It can be very tricky though...I hope this helps! There is soooo much of it out there and most of it in my house lolol.....thanks for the question and I appreciated your watching!!! xoxo Michelle
What a great haul! I love the pie plate because I collect that pattern. I hope to find one too someday. That turquoise vase is lovely, and that little Mexican canister is adorable. Honestly, I love it all. Will share on my Facebook page! I am staying up to do laundry and bake applesauce muffins. Wish you were here. I'd give you and cameraman each one for such a fun video. Love from Iowa ❤️ ~ Lori ~
Awe thanks Lori....I love muffins wish I was there too!!! I am totally in love with the canister! and the Vase also. Let me know if ya don't find the pie plate, Christmas is coming :) Michelle xox
Hi Michelle! I love the Corning ware pie plate!! I have not seen one before. I would have run to that refrigerator dish too! I have the set in the olive green daisy pattern, my own original dishes from 1975 along with the nesting mixing bowls (wedding gift) and the other mixing bowls I purchased to match. Love them!! Did you have damage other than the roof leaking? Talk to you soon!
Hi Janet! I couldn't believe that fridge dish was so cheap in a antique store..right place right time :) Do have the spring blossom crazy daisy set? I seem to be starting a collection of them lol :) We have to replace some carpets also....xo Michelle
You are amazing! I love thrifting myself and have enjoyed learning so much from you. I am very inspired by you and subscribed this morning. Thank you and have a beautiful day :)
Professional Cameraman pay them EXTRA! You did a awesome! Great Finds, Happy Shopping! Have a Happy Happy New Year in 2019. I need to learn how to sell on Ebay! USA- Baltimore, MD
Excellent haul! I love that green butter dish. Did it turn out to be vaseline glass? Man, Michelle, you could make a mint by consulting on what's what. As people come out of the Goodwill, you could identify what they bought & charge them a buck apiece.
LOL Linda that would be great! Sometimes people come up to me in Goodwill looking for advice...I love that! I swear that butter dish does glow under black light, but I see so many exactly like it that are "retro" remakes xoxo Michelle
@@thrifting101...identifybuy3 Thank you . Im binging your video's. Ive always loved glass items, china. Ive bought the milk white glass ive always loved it never knew what it was called lol
Did the glasses have any marking on them? I could not tell. I ran across some similar in style but did not get as there was no marking - I think I made a big mistake on that! what kind were they again? I didn't understand what you said, sorry.
I went to the thrift store I had to really refrain myself saw many great items. Have no place to put the item. Pyrex with lids, covered cobalt with gold with lids
Oh Cele...believe me it is not for lack of looking!! In all my travels I have only run across one and it was not at a thrift store but an antique store. I was quite expensive and I passed, although I did go back to buy it for myself and it was gone...that was a few years ago and I still regret not purchasing it!! Thanks for commenting Cele and maybe I will find one soon!! xo :)
Hi Kathy! I always try to ship in a flat rate box, that way you can pack the heck out of em.....also I try to break up into smaller lots, I do not like to ship fragiles in large groups...Good Luck!! xo Michelle :)
Hi Michelle, new subbie and really enjoying your videos. I too love glass, especially such durable cookware as Pyrex, Anchor Hocking and Corningware. Enjoy the walks down memory lane, seeing items from the 50's on. I'm curious about "wooden nickel". Sounds like a shop, but you also mention it like a discount token in other vids. What is that? TIA
Hi Guinevere and welcome! Thank you so much for the sub and the kind words...its all about memory lane!! The "wooden nickel" is a wooden coin you purchase for a one time fee for $5 and you use it for whatever is on sale that day!! I have 2 for 2 different charitable thrift stores...you can get sometimes up to 75% off :)
First time on your channel. I enjoyed seeing your finds. I used to have two clear glass fridge dishes (I guess that's what they were) but dropped the lids and broke them. I enjoy using glass instead of plastic, but handling them makes me nervous....because I drop them! ;*/ Do you actually make sales on eBay? It makes me wonder if buyers are looking for something in particular when they shop on eBay or if they never get out to thrift stores. Thank you!
Hi Denise So glad you found and enjoy my channel! I also am a "dropper" lol...I DO sell on ebay, seems to go in spurts...some days I sell a lot then I can go days without a sale...xo Michelle
Hi Michelle the vasaline butter dish and ruby bowl are absolutely superb on those 2 pieces if you could message me with as much info as possible I can see if I can help
