Raga Lalit on the Sarod I Pt. Tejendra Narayan Majumdar I BCMF 2012

Pt. Tejendra Narayan Majumdar is one of the best known sarod players of his generation and a standard bearer of the Senia Maihar Gharana. He rendered Raag Lalit in the sarod, in the maiden Bengal Classical Music Festival held in 2012, at Dhaka. The highly emotive rendition was steeped in the devotional and serene essence of the raga. In the later phases, it was accentuated by a striking rhythmic play of notes. The audiences could experience and enjoy Pt. Majumdar’s remarkable blend of tantrakari and gayaki stylisation. Pt Subhankar Banerjee's brilliant tabla accompaniment made the performance more enjoyable.
