Melanie G irritates the hell out of me. She's so embarrassed now, to have gotten carried away with Lori and chad, that she tries to distance herself from it all as she tells her story. I think she knew more at the time, and was fine, till the cops called her. Then she backpedaled hard!

She's not embarrassed, I don't think. She's trying to distance herself to stay out of prison. It's clear she was deeply involved.

Melanie's testimony is so valuable. At the same time, all of her dissembling and "searching" her memory about dates and activities is infuriating. She *has* to know the exact timeline of events! It's probably the main thing she's thought about for three years, and she's told this stort many times. It's obvious that she's uncomfortable about admitting how close she was to what Lori did. Melanie knows even more than what she is willing to divulge. She was fully on board and I think she knew that the children were going to die. Once she sensed that Lori was in trouble with the law, she acted in her best interest.

Agree. Human nature would have her thinking about this a lot. She’s rehearsed it over and over and she’s scared she’ll be charged as an accessory. All of those gals should be concerned. The reason Melanie was the one to break the pact is because Lori and Chad yanked her in with the lie of JJ’s whereabouts. I would hope any of the other gals would have done the same.

Lori Dumbbell explained that zombies had to die 2 other zombies were already dead so when she said that JJ was a zombie that woman should have picked up the phone and she didn't. Damn her soul. She could have saved that baby. I can't even look at his papa without crying. I'm all about the true crime but never has a case so incensed me. The level of malignant narcissism is unimaginable. If anyone in your life presents with a God complex you must take action. Chandler P.D. failed Charles Tylee and JJ. That cop was like...well I'm attracted to you so you must be okay. Melanie Gibb is INFURIATING me with all of her “I don’t recalls.” Girl, you’ve thought about every detail of this case everyday for three years! She knows every date and detail but is trying to downplay HER involvement in their beliefs and her LACK of involvement in speaking up for the children. The MINUTE she heard that the kids were dark and zombies, she SHOULD HAVE REPORTED IT TO CPS AND THE AUTHORITIES! She has some culpability in all of the death and destruction in my opinion.

I live in Australia and i was able to answer some of the questions that the police "couldnt recall" the State needs to get on top of their witnesses before they get on the stand. There is insurmountable evidence proving the case against them. Now no one remembers anything. For Christs sake you know when your going to testify as a witness so why wouldnt you review your case files or statements anything and everything you have too make sure you can answer all and any questions asked. This is the worst trial ive ever watched. Hopefully the jury can see the truth between all the "something like that" " i cant recall" "not to my knowledge. Its really pretty cut and dry. The kids went missing in September found murdered 9 months later in June on Chads property, she went on leading her best life not looking for her children just living life case closed. GUILTY as charged and a lot more.

Unbelievable bullshit, the only reason she video taped that call is because law enforcement was now involved, that's the only reason she did that was because she thought she would be in trouble, and guess what sweetheart, you should be......I hope you see their sweet faces every day of your waking life, knowing your just as guilty knowing everything ypu did. I get the frustration but unfortunately, this is actually a very typical thing for a cult. They suck people in, even intelligent and smart people. The smarter folks get kinda dazed and don't quite realize exactly how far down a deep dark tunnel they've gotten. Usually, the common way they get woken up from the "spell" of the leaders is when something happens that shocks them on a very personal, moral level. In this case, a special needs boy going missing. A common explanation for why they didn't get out sooner is often "Yeah I knew what this meant in theory but I couldn't fathom they would actually physically do this to someone." Often, the smarter folks have red flags but the point of cultism is that people are reprogrammed to dismiss those red flags and do what the leaders say regardless. There are professors who specialize in studying how intelligent, normal people can get sucked into cults. Melanie's testimony is so freaking frustrating to listen to because she could've done something but when you look at the science and the work of people with multiple doctorates who research this stuff, it's actually very normal for a person like her to get sucked into it and not do anything until something catastrophic happened. It's crazy how this stuff works, and scary!

That call was recorded on 12/8/2019, in 4 days after Chad and Lori were alerted that Alex may be a risk, he is dead. Alex died on 12/12/2019. This is a cooincidence? He died of a Pulmonary Embolism. Chad's ideas are so unoriginal. Multiple probations seems to be a fancy term for reincarnation. It is an ancient belief, but it seems these 2 had a very simplistic interpretation of it - one that matched their story of self importance. People must learn from this that religiousness does not make you a good person. Only YOU make you a good person by the way that you act in this world.
Religion may make you feel as if you're a good person, but if you believe that JC died for your sins, then you also know that whatever you do - even the most hienous acts will be forgiven as long as you pray and ask for forgiveness. Religion makes people shift responsibility for their own negative acts. It causes a kind of schizophrenia. People believe themselves to be holier than thou, when in actual fact they could be as hienous as these 2. Only you, by the honest, positive choices that you make, make you the person that you are. So each time you do good, you are more of that - authentically. These people are totally deranged as are so many religious cult leaders. It sounds like they mixed New Age drivel with some version of their previous faith. The castings for Charles was Lori's way of justifying killings those she did not like. Lori is a very low IQ person with a highly narcissistic personality. She is an evil, vengeful woman. She wanted other people's devotion and money with her so called prophet, It was all about profit and sex and power.

I wonder if she is gloating to herself over that prosecutor’s family members death. the first thing I thought of when I heard that, was whether Lori is still putting the hex on people from her cell? I can’t be the only one who made that connection.Or in her mind she’s thinking their castings are still working. I seriously don’t think their group has moved on from their ideology.

Yes, she's done alot of "I don't remember" and "I can't recall" ... funny because I've watched her interview with nate and her police interviews multiple times and I could have answered all the questions she was asked. She doesn't want to self incriminate.

Is this 144,000 a real thing in the Book of Mormon? Some of these people named in scripture I’m not sure who they are. I put a ton of blame on Melanie. The slogan “ see something say someone “ . She should have been backing Charles and maybe everyone would still be alive. She knew so much and I have no respect for her at all.
Her not picking up for law enforcement because she didn’t know what to do? How would you not know what to do? Your innocent right? She’s such a liar.

Mormonism is mostly a west coast thing centered around their little mecca of Salt Lake City. In fact, when Mormonism got started, they were lynched and thrown out of cities on the East Coast because people hated them and their blasphemy.
Most Americans don't like Mormons, but it's unfair to blame people that get raised into it because they don't realize how insane it actually is.
Mormonism should be put in the DSM as a recognized mental illness.
