I think it would be a cool idea for you to do a video on just sends. Different ways to use them etc. it could end up being a full series
If enough people thumbs up this comment I’ll do it!

@@joeymusic Please do so.
Such a good idea
@@joeymusic 10 out of 10 want this video.
Also would love a video explaining where plugins should go for various tricks. The track? A bus? A send? Should I reverb the track and the send to a parallel reverb? Should I even be doing parallel reverbs?? So many questions I don't know the answer to!
I don’t even use sends, I make separate tracks for shit.. tbh I don’t really understand the concept too well. Obv I know what a send is supposed to do, but I’m not sure how to correctly do it in pro tools. The one time I’ve tried it didn’t exactly work correctly. Idk what I did wrong, but learning sends have been in the back of my mind A LOT lately.
I was legit saying “that’s quite an effects chain for reverb” Then you had to remind me I have 5 stages of compression on just about everything 💣💥
Great vid! I feel like reverb is often overlooked, not in terms of underused, like as you said, slapping it on the end of an fx chain and calling it a day. There's a ton of untapped creative potential for a lot of us in it!
Glad you enjoyed it my friend!

Extremely helpful and I must say, that Sky Box is a pretty tempting purchase.
would have stopped after EQ. Thanks for sharing this. MI Mi MIAMI!!!
What up Miami thanks for the talk at NAMM. I would have actually pulled up neural DSP reverb and then left it alone after that and continued on with my writing. Shows how much I know. Thanks for the vid, will be immediately applying this right now lol.
Strongest intro to a video ever oh my goodness
she is such a nice vocalist man
Yeah!
This band isn't really my drift, but I'm consistently impressed by how clean the raw vocal takes are. Credit where credit is due.
What song is this that you're mixing? It's fire!
Chemicals by Conquer Divide!

One thing creators like this don’t do, and I really wish they would, is songwriting 101. Bc I’ve worked briefly with Andrew wade and a few others and there are similarities in writing that industry producers know and do when it comes to song writing that your every day bedroom producer wouldn’t know, bc they’ve never made hits.
I guess what I’m getting at is, can you do a video about lyrical structure, song writing and track development from a writing standpoint instead of a production one. what makes some producers better writers than others. What are your tips and tricks for writing bangers in a productive time frame?
I’m sorry if my comment is confusing. I just want to be the best songwriter I can be. I know it comes with practice but I feel like there has to be some kind of theory to it that separates pros from joes.
Awesome channel
Awesome tips and song. Thank you!
ok. these transition game lines are amazing. Miami dunking on the lurkers 😎
Woot! It was about time I said SOMETHING! Lol
-Miami
Sometimes, I like to insert a delay before the reverb to give predelay 💖 and combining different reverbs is the best thing ever 😍😁
Your transitions are epic.
Appreciate you, Wesley!

Most of the time I prefer cutting some ’air’ from reverb, not boosting it. Makes the dry signal cut through while reverb acts more in that 1k area. Widening seemed like a cool tip! It might sound less metallic if the widener is before the reverb in the bus, just a thought!
I love the work you guys do, You set the standard for metal production and what you’re doing with these videos and plug-ins is invaluable, but I can’t believe people are still making music that sounds like that in 2022 lmao.
It still slaps tho!

You totally didn't catch me slippin-- already subscribed :) Thank you so much for the tips!
And tysm for the support, Eric!

Very cool stuff Miami. Typically I’m using fabfilter’s reverb and am able to do some of those steps inside just that one plug-in. But adding chorus and shimmer on top of the reverb is pretty cool. Haven’t thought to do that. Definitely will be playing around with it now.
I high and low pass the reverb and call it a day. Will give this process a go and see what happens.
I like really lush wet sounding tracks but can never get the reverb audible without it swamping everything and sounding muddy.
Actually, the more I learn and practice mixing, the more I think it's a better idea to get a professional to mix my stuff for me. 😅
the dunning kruger effect

LOVE Conquer Divide :]
Like your content very much...Thanks
Thanks!
Definitely stopping after EQing and maybe widening if if needs be! IT's cool that SkyBox has a built in widener feature though so you don't have to use a separate plugin
also ducking and tremolo ar very cool effects if used smart with reverb. ok tremolo is a more for electronic music. awesome content as always.
Ducking can def be awesome in certain circumstances! And thanks so much

Actualy i barely touch my main reverb and delay (at least on vocals), most of the times I change some eq settings on them and automate them. That's how Itreat them. But that's just on some types. I use experimental reverbs most of the time on boring stuff ore to create ear candy: I love shimmer on acoustic guitars, piano and synths. Lately I've been using room reverbs a lot, especialy Room404 from Analog Obsession (+ Pixelator on reverb for dull synths)
I love room reverb on specific things. Mostly like when I want something to feel intimate, or if I’m trying to have a “teen screaming in my bedroom” kind of vocal.
-Miami
I don't own SkyBox, but cool that you can use all the reverb styles in one instance.
Would of stopped at EQ but damn this was a good class 👏
Thank you for the great, informative video!
Anytime my friend!
-Miami
Double like! I'm hip to sending to another track and basic EQ moves but I learned that I'm a bit conservative with my high end. Love the chorus and width ideas, cant wait to give it a try. As always, many thanks and I will check out Joey's video detailing the different types of verb. Cheers! btw- I liked the spring reverb best until you put the vocal in the mix. Cloud sounded amazing in the mix
Thanks Pete! Let me know what you think once you try it out!
-Miami
will do!
When you added the chorus through Skybox, was that on a different send from the first or? I'm not very fluent with sends but sounds awesome
Transition game still crazy
It’s time to level it up in the second half of 2022

Yesersky
Bro, THANK you! I legit have been struggling with reverb for years. Literally didn't make sense to me until you just showed these concepts. Thank you so much.
Glad to help out fam
-Miami
Miamis got a better transition game on his videos than some bands do in their songs 😂👀
Woot woot! Appreciate that fam
-Miami
Loving it! One question, Are you layering the different reverb characters on separate aux’s or just changing the settings of one instance of sky box?
I’m loading separate instances of skybox on the same send
-Miami
Bro I love your videos, but would adding chorus introduce any phase issues? Would dig a little clarification:)
Thnx my dude 💪🏼
Little heavy on the de-essing on the dialogue in this video lol. Good content as always tho
We gotchu next time, Seamus!
-Miami
Cool to see the skybox used in a few different ways. Love this plugin. Do you use it on snare?
I do! And I love it on snare
-Miami
I would have stopped after the widener. I didn't like the shimmer. Maybe at the chorus.
Awesome vid :) Just wondering why you decided to go for a cut rather than using a high pass on the reverb/eq?
I never have looked at reverbs from a 'creative' point of view as I normally use them for front to back positioning and getting instruments in the 'same space'. But this is cool. The most I do is EQ the reverb bus with a HPF and a High Shelf.
I probably would have stopped after the second step. That cloud mode sounds etheral!
With a name like sonic conscience it makes sense you dig the ethereal vibes 😀
-Miami
It seems to me like you need to dust off some "reverb" from your desk and monitors...🤣 (sorry, I couldn't help it)
Lmao you aren’t lying. Too busy making Videos, but I’ll get back to it once the dust settles 😏
-Miami
Cute hat
If it sounds good, it is good... that's all you need to know about mixing. doesn't matter how you go about achieving that affect, multiple compressors, a bunch of effects on a reverb... who cares.
Man reverb can definitely ruin the mix! Cool video!
Glad you enjoyed it! And it really can, gotta be cautious
-Miami
Hey Miami question on the send is it going pre or post FX on the actual track. What is best in your opinion.
Что за трек? Понравился 🤗
This channel should be doing way better. The UA-cam algorithm is shitting on these guys. Not cool.
