my uni have made us continue with the semester as if nothing has changed- but I have only had 2 weeks of lectures since January because of strikes. It’s frustrating that they expect us to be motivated and do well when we have been so messed around this year! I’m still doing the uni work- but taking a lot of time for random hobbies at the moment! xx

There's an app called Discord and you can search for language servers online. I'm in 2 general language servers and 2 specifically French servers. Good for finding new friends and practicing with learners and natives alike :)
please could you give some advice to year 12's because you said we aren't in A-level revision season but idk whether I should be doing an intense easter holidays of revision like I did last year for GCSE's or whether I should just do more chill revision but risk being caught out if we end up doing mocks soon 😬😅
Hi, I’m a uni student and I would recommend doing a more chill revision period. If you do end up going back soon and are given mocks (which is looking quite unlikely) you’ll be forgiven for not performing to your usual standard. I know it’s really frustrating but hopefully this helps - don’t wear yourself out! If you’re really uncertain about your specific sixth form/college I’d suggest emailing a tutor/teacher and asking for guidance☺️

I'm in final year and was supposed to have exams the end of this month. Yesterday we were told all our exams were being converted to assignments so I now have to write 14,000 words (10 extra essays) in less than a month. To anyone else who's struggling I feel you, and I just want to let everyone know that things will be okay
Eve, you're officially a lifesaver! I'm a first year Graphic Design student and I am currently physically unable to do my work at home. I discovered, to my horror, that my laptop isn't compatible with the current Adobe software so I've unfortunately had to bite the bullet and invest in a MacBook. However, due to the situation, I don't know when that's arriving so I literally have NOTHING to do! I made a quarantine goal list at the beginning of all this but I struggled to find the motivation for it. I'm hoping your method will help to remedy that!

I’ve changed the structure of my day to fit quarantine better and while not ideal to go to sleep at 1 and wake up at 9:30 the structure is there. And also completely get it with the work, I do an entirely coursework based course and we still need to complete everything for the same date with no grade considerations so I’ve been binge watching motivational videos 😭😂

the day they announced exams to be cancelled i spent an hour crying and stressing about a level revision and how there was so much, I built myself up to then be mentally low but please do things you love and spend time with those you love (in your household lol) :)))

Hey, I'm a year 13 student and I'd say that the unis will definitely understand, and there are still lots of things you can do to help your application. Most universities and courses don't need any work experience (except medicine etc) so you could spend some of the free time reading books on your subject or taking a future learn course, which are free :) even watching relevant videos is something you can write about on your personal statement, as they want to see what you've taken from your experiences rather than the experience itself. Even though it all feels shit now, I'm sure things will be fine once this is all over :)

Believe me, go for a walk now that you can. I have not been able to leave my house for about 25 days because in my country we literally can't, and I swear to GOD I would do anything to be able to go for a 5 minute walk
I am terrified about how they are picking GCSE grades because I hadn't been doing great (as in failing quite a few subjects) but I know that I would have done so much better in the real exams and got 5's and 6's which isn't amazing but it's better than failing. Now they have said about resitting in autumn and not next summer, I don't now whether to keep working as I feel I may have to resit a few exams. However, if I work and don't have to resit it would have been a waste of time but if I don't work and need to resit then i am 100% dead.
Alexis I can understand where you are coming from. As an examiner I would suggest that if you know you’re not in a good position then do definitely continue with your work (even though it may seem like it’s impossible) the truth is that there is nothing exciting happening around us which should realistically make it easier to knuckle down and when things do getter at least you can then reward yourself by going out - check out my vids for more tips on this: ua-cam.com/video/OolnWLM_X8M/v-deo.html

Think of it this way: the other year 12s are in the same boat. No one is able to get work experience. It will be ok.
