Never worked with Leather much less did a bible rebind, I had a vintage 60 year old bible with the brittle cover literally crumbling apart, got my materials & tools (under $40) & did my Bible in a sheepskin cover, paste down leather liner, new ribbons & custom letters on cover. Took me a few hours for 2 days (about 6 hours total) I’m super happy with the results & it’s only possible because of you’re EXTREMELY informative & detailed video. Huge thanks Mr Frost. God bless you brother you’ve allowed me to use my Bible again 👍🏻

Did u already have some of the tools? Specifically how did you do the letters? Did u already have that press?
I’m sure that has to cost more than $40

@@MansterBear I cut corners for the letters I used my Cricut cutter & foil iron on (which I already had) the sheepskin leather was literally $7 on Amazon, glue $2, ribbons $4 & some miscellaneous tools like Xacto knife etc. really wasn’t hard or expensive (even if I didn’t have the Cricut my Bible would’ve just been letter-less. I didn’t not stitch I did not tool I did not do a 100% true rebind but it’s pretty close for the time energy cost & effort I put in. Which like I originally said was MINIMAL

@@Danny_Servant_of_God that’s awesome. My wife has an old KJV passed down thru her family that’s starting to fall apart.

I have a Bible that was given to me as a birthday gift 46 years ago. It definitely needs rebinding, and I thought that I might like to give it a try. But after watching this video I think I'll just put that Bible away in a safe place, 'cause this is much more difficult than I want to deal with. You do good work! Keep it up!

More decades ago than I care to remember, I earned my bookbinding merit badge in the Boy Scouts. The task turned the paperback Boy Scout handbook into a linen hardback. We were taught by a man who bound the books in the basement of the main New Orleans library. I have my finished handbook unto this day (50+ years). As much as I love that old book, it looks nothing like the craftsmanship we see here.
A couple of years ago, I found Frost Leather on the net. At that time, I had an off the shelf Zondervan Thompson Chain Reference NASB whose exterior was nothing to write home about. It was far from being a beautiful thing. Frost changed all that! After watching this video and seeing all the steps involved, I’m convinced that I got the best end of the bargain. If any of you out there are like me and do not have the equipment or talent required for this level of work, I can recommend this young man without reservation. I now have a family heirloom to leave to my children.

I've used my machine on leather in the past and I know it will stitch well but I'm considering using a 100% polyester quilting thread since that is what I have on hand but since I want to do this right what should I be using? Why anyone would rebind a cambridge goatskin is beyond my comprehension, but I am impressed by your work. I will be contacting you soon. Do you have Bibles that you sell? Thats funny. Im actually not a drummer, but can spin a pen around like a drummer. Thank you for your kind words! I don't currently have any editions for sell, Just trying to keep up with orders with little time for other projects. Using thin leathers is a way to avoid having to skive, but greatly limits you on what leathers and styles you are able to do.

This is so cool. I’ve done a very small amount of leather work. Coolest thing I’ve made is a cover for my camping hatchet.
But my wife and I have about 18 bibles in the house…
One of them is a super old KJV. I swear the paper in it is thicker/better than résumé paper. It was passed down from her grandfather to her, and has some pages sewn in for officiating weddings. But no one in her family knows where the Bible came from before her grandfather or why those pages are in there.
This is making me want to practice on a few of the extras, then surprise her by rebinding that one when I feel I’m good enough and know I won’t ruin it.
The cover is also old cheap imitation leather and starting to fall apart.
Thank you for sharing this awesome info. I know you’ve put so much time and sweat into what you’ve learned. It’s great that you bless others by freely sharing it. God bless brother!

*What's sad is none of you realize you're working on what has been magically changed by the AC into his UNholy word because you didn't hide God's word in your hearts like He commanded. It's not too late to learn though. First read Amos **8:11** then type in (proof of bible change residue junkie) AND HANG ON TO YOUR SEAT!!!*
*Otherwise you will hear Jesus explain this standing at the Gate crying before He sends you all on your way.*

    • @residuejunkie4321
      @residuejunkie4321 10 місяців тому +1

*What The Father has spoken will never change, His promises are still good and our prayers are still answered! Hallelujah!!! But as impossible as this sounds, like so many of the true stories in scripture, our bibles have all been supernaturally changed by Satan in the last several years, right in our homes, in the fulfillment of prophecy. It's being done to prepare for the reign of the antichrist. All languages and all translations have been changed along with concordances, encyclopedias, dictionaries, history books, the original Hebrew, Greek, Latin and Aramaic manuscripts. Even the Dead Sea Scrolls have been changed!*
*I'm 70, was saved when I was 10, and have read only the exact same copy of the King James bible my church gave me in 1961. (This does not mean I was a King James onlyist but now I'm glad I never read other ones or I might not have noticed the changes as soon.) I had memorized many scriptures from it through the years. Then in 2014 I started seeing changes in it that I couldn't explain. I had never owned a computer or heard of the Mandela Effect back then. But after being given my first computer in 2016 I finally found out why I had been noticing all of the oddities that I couldn't explain. I then started diligently studying what should actually be called the "Daniel 7:25 effect". That's where God said He would give the antichrist the power to do this. (Change times and laws, history and scripture) We're seeing many end times prophecies being fulfilled SUPERNATURALLY! This is some of the "lying signs and wonders" God told us He would give the AC power to perform which would even deceive His very elect, if it were possible in 2nd Thessalonians chapter two!*
*God said in the end of days, (NOW!) that He would send us a famine for hearing His words in Amos **8:11** and that He would give the antichrist the ability to do this in Daniel 7:25. In Daniel 12:4 & 12:9 He told him to seal his book until the end days. He told John **_not_** to seal his book because the end time is at hand in Revelation 22:10. One of the Greek definitions of seal in Strongs concordance is “to protect from Satan”. He also told us to “write His words in our hearts”, which meant memorize, if not word for word at least the essence of what was written, because He knew this was going to happen.*
*God commanded us to "prove all things", and people **_better_** obey Him, especially on this subject. I urge you to research this. There are many brothers and sisters making videos about the changes with more proof of what was originally written and I have lots more about this in my playlist 👉 which can be found by typing in (proof of bible change residue junkie)* 👈
      ua-cam.com/play/PLOTw4zBND_NPf66nKUONLoe2MNFLb5LQr.html
*I've continued stay in God's word by reading what has been documented to be what used to be written and what Satan has been changing. Soon Amos **8:12** will be fulfilled too and we won't be able to find God's word anymore, and the only way it can happen is by not being able to see these videos that document what used to be written in our bibles.*
*_May God bless all who read this with eyes to see this incredible faith strengthener, and how close we are to our Saviour's return!!!!_*
*P.S. Everyone is going to learn about this one way or the other. I'm just trying to save people from hearing Jesus explain it to them at the Gate. If you ask for them at the address on my about page I will send you links for 15 films that absolutely prove the snake bite is the mark. And yt hates me and won't post my replies so write me at my private address for lots more info yt would never allow you to see.* ❤✝️💪

I have been a leather worker for 15 years. I am not a believer and would have little business with those who need bibles being rebound. I admire every bit of this skill and your passion. I think providing this service for your clients is worth so very much. You have forgotten more about leather binding then I will learn. Thank you for this video.
Two comments, if I may. You talked about your interior step being perfect. Forgive yourself for being slightly off if you can. The discipline seems to be the goal. Within your own metaphysical system - you cannot be perfect - you can only strive. That seems the appropriate goal.
Secondly, the result was SO worth your work. That is heirloom quality and such a good watch.

I have several Bibles which need rebinding. I could not follow the steps and no explanations of how He makes his measurements. I became completely lost early in the the video. Can't consider joining His patron page for having the same issues and not learning. I really want to rebind my Bibles as they have much sentimental value and countless hours of preparing for a message. There is nothing like having the Lord to speak a Word and write His Inspirations of the pages. No new Bible can replace the experience.

I am wanting to rebind my bible. But the issue I'm having is the cover that came with the Bible completely fell off. So I don't have any of that extra binding from the factory. Is there a way I can reinforce The binding before I put on the new leather cover?

@@frostLeather Just wondering, the skiving knife you use in this video looks like it only has a single bevel, and the knife you have linked on your patreon labelled as yours is the double bevel knife. Just curious if you only sharpen one side or something like that or if the camera angle just makes it look different? Thanks!
