      Certainly!! Gandlaf would not have fallen as Bill would have told the Balrog to jog on - but then Gandalf would not have defeated Saruman the White - and Gandalf knew this, so he told Sam to get rid of the pony to not be shown up by him - Legend!

    Ace vid he looks brill, I’m having trouble layering over speed paint as it keeps picking up the speed paint even if I use medium instead of water. kinda feel like I wasted my money tbh. Picked up 2 of the 2.0 to try see if it makes a difference

    • @SwordsandBrushes
      @SwordsandBrushes  Рік тому +1

      Thank you, yes the 1.0 will do that and it is nit great at all if you want to paint white on top.
      I did a test for the 2.0 ones (i have the metallic range) and they did not at all which was pretty good!
      I hope to get the full set of the 2.0 some point soon as i want to put them through it's paces to see what they are all about :)

    4:47 you seem to be talking about shading the bags, but actually washing the green areas with speed paint but then never go on to mention that step

    • @SwordsandBrushes
      @SwordsandBrushes  Рік тому

      Oh crikey! Very good spot! It must have been nudged out of place when i was editing - i say that sentence on the 4 minute mark.
      So the shading on the bags occur before the highlights.
      And the green shade on the coat is where its supposed to be - but without the voice over sentence - gosh know where that went to! :):)

    Love the video. Quick question, combining with your basing video. Do you base these figures after painting them or cut them off and glue them to pre-made bases?

    • @SwordsandBrushes
      @SwordsandBrushes  Рік тому

      Thank you very much! :):)
      I tend to paint nearly everything separately to the base - i just found a method that works for me and saves time.
      For the majority of plastic minis i just use super glue. depending how much surface are with the feet will attach to the base.
      For metal minis i mainly glue them onto the base first before sanding.
      But i also do the method of using masking tape to cover the slotta hole on bases, batch paint them and then create a small hole where the masking tape is.
      And for the metal mini clip off the majority of the tab that the feet are on and leave a bit under one foot - this creates a good strong wedge once its glued into the hole of the slotta base :)
      Little things like that saves me time, and on a grand scale of a whole army - i have saved even more :):)

    Bill the pony is a really nice model from Forgeworld. I painted mine while going through the entire fellowship and painted all the luggage at the same time I was painting them on the fellowship to keep the colours consistent. This made painting the model a lot less daunting.

    • @SwordsandBrushes
      @SwordsandBrushes  2 роки тому

      An excellent idea! I have to say Bill is a brilliant sculpt from them, the details are lovely. Have you got a stand out model from the Fellowship that i like the most? :)

    • @Dimanti88
      @Dimanti88 2 роки тому +1

      @@SwordsandBrushes My personal favourite model is my metal Aragorn from the old school and pretty rare three hunters set. But I think Pippin was the most fun to paint out of the Fellowship.

      @@SwordsandBrushesSame, I'm a sucker for the old metal sculpts. In fact, my painted fellowship is metal and I even have an unpainted "Breaking of the Fellowship" version (the ones with all elven cloaks) stil left to put some colour on. Do you have a good colour recipe for elven cloaks using Citadel colours?

    • @SwordsandBrushes
      @SwordsandBrushes  2 роки тому +1

      Ah awesome!! They are all such lovely miniatures, great alternative poses too.
      Ah yes elven cloaks - i answered that every question on my Ko-fi creator page - there is the Citadel and army painter colours as well as a reference photo too which could help you.
      I cant link it here in the comments, but if you go either into the video description or click the link in the channel banner it will take you there.
      It's just a page where people can ask me specific things and then i help them out with either photos or make a separate video to answer questions :)
      Hope it helps :):)
