Hi guys, I want to do more of these comparisons for people, its one of the things on the channel that I really enjoy and that I think helps make people make more informed decisions when we put headphones against each other. With that said if you want to see comparisons of anything I have previously reviewed on the channel leave a comment down below of which models. Remember I can only comment on stuff I have because I want to do real AB head to heads, I won't speculate on stuff. The other thing is that to get the most out these comparisons it helps if you have similar tastes to me. Someone who like different stuff may not agree, I'm basing them purely on what I prefer and in these videos I will list the reasons why. Again thank you so much for the support and get ready for the 11.11 deals video dropping today or tomorrow. Lots of money to be saved.
Thanks for putting in the effort to make a very thoughtful video. Can I make one request/suggestion, please try saying “this one” less. It was a little distracting and made the video a little harder to follow.
Well, I only own Timeless from the list, but I'm in love. Fit-wise they work for me perfectly and for some reason since I've never seen such design it works, they sure are unique. But I can totally get why people are annoyed. I'm just happy they fit me so well hehe. As for sound.. just wow. I've honestly haven't expected them to sound that good. I think I own enough of a flatter sounding earphones that I wanted something more fun and beautiful sounding and oh my, they deliver for sure.
I love the look and feel of the Timeless. It looks how it sounds to me. Round and full bodied and very technical. They fit me personally so well I forget they're in my ears. That's from someone who has trouble with comfort from lots of iems. Quirky design that just works
Just listened to my P1 (Azla crystal+Moto G Play+UAPP+Xduoo XD-05 Basic on high gain) for the first time in a month reminded me of how good these are when driven properly even with bass heavy tracks. Also have the XINHS version of that blue cable on my KBear Believe, awesome combo.
The 7hz timeless scales amazingly if you plug it into a good DAC/AMP.... I plugged a Timeless into a Smyth Realiser A16 the other day and it was just amazing... I couldn't stop listening to it.... again... the 7hz Timeless scales very very good with good source equipment... while playing them I couldn't even see the absurd disc shape... :-)
Thank you for the comparison. I'm not a basshead per se ,but I prefer bassy IEMs since they tend to inject some warmth and body to midrange and notes. Unfortunately most IEMs tend to be tuned more upper mids oriented these days and a lot of them come off as shouty to me.
Its actually very true that companies are targeting curves. Very rarely do we get pure basshead IEM's but there's plenty of options for you if you want wamth. Whats your budget and genres?
I have that P1 since day 1, have had up to 3 pairs. To amp the Tin Hifi P1 properly, you need at least 150mW @32ohms. Ideally 200mW and above ; I can say that because I've tested many many different DAPs (in 3 differents stores, for hours). So yes, most little DAP won't be enough. No dongle will amp the P1 properly (I have a Hidizs S9 Pro, volume is more than loud, but quality wise, it's not enough). So if you buy a pair of P1, you should have a good power source, and you'll probably need to change the original cable for a balanced one (most DAP offers more power in Balanced mode). I have two P1, a P2, a Moondrop Blessing2, a JVC HA-FDX1, a KBear Believe...the P1 is my favorite IEMS (then the Kbear Believe). The P2 is technically better, but needs EQ to be better than the P1 (and EQ is a pain, specially on Android).
If you like the P1s and KBear Believe you should try the 7 Hz Timeless. I have all three, the Timeless had a similar overall presentation to the Believe, but adds a touch of the realism the P1s have.
@@Grrrr3FKAGrrrrGrrrrGrrrr Hi, I've got the Timeless for about a week :) It's more detailed than the P1, much easier to amp, but IMO, the low end section is too elevated. I have to EQ it to really enjoy it (which is a pain).
You should really label the models with a piece of paper underneath or tape or something because the P1 and P1+ look almost identical so when you say "this one" is better I don't know which one that is. Many people can't tell a lot of the other IEM's apart as well. Great videos though, just a future suggestion.
I have no problem with the comfort of the 7 Hz Timeless, but what does bother me about the symmetrical design is that I have to pause and scratch my head working out which if left and right. The supplied cable does not have colour coding like many do, I'm now using red and blue foam tips on them. I love the Timeless, but I find that the P1s (original) best them when it comes to the lucidity of the midrange, it is that quality that defines 'planar magnetic sound' to me , my references being my Audeze LCD2 and my brother's Magnepan speakers. Timeless are better than the P1s for soundstage size and bass weight. The Timeless does definitely have a sound that I think could only come from planar drivers though, unlike my HifiMan 400i which might as well have moving coil drivers to my ears.
Hi, really enjoy your channel though that is maybe in part due to someone talkink about audio equipment who has an accent like my own. Anyway, I am considering buying my first set of tribrid iem's. I have a budget of around £300 and was wondering which pair you would recommend. Would also consider the P1's but do not yet have an amp from source to do them justice.
Hi Audiolevels, I have here Q3 balanced output gives me 300mW… I want to get something more powerful … but meantime with balanced cable can it drive the P1 so I can have some fun…❓BTW it seems to me from what you say that the og P1 with the “weird dip in the treble” might be more interesting then the new smooth treble Thank you✌️🙋♂️
No problem driving with that. Yes actually that's a point a didn't make clear in the video so thanks for bringing it up. When I used the original first for a few hours then switched to the plus it was the plus that sounded weird (because it was different to what I am used to) however switching to the LZ and timeless it felt more normal and going back to the original P1 then felt like it was the one with a difference. Whatever goes on with the treble on the original I can't say its unpleasant at all, I really like that headphone. Im still undecided as to which one I'll keep using in the long run.
I would like to know how does the timeless 7hz compare with mangrid tea, is it more bassier are the harmonics less sharp and the detail more or less refined?
The planars in the IEM's represent the sound very differently than the way I hear them in full size cans. In IEM's I'm getting this 3D presentation and and insane amount of detail. The dynamics when tuned right have and advantage of producing deep sub bass. You can get very good dynamics, usually with coatings or made from materials that stiffen up the diaphragm to reduce distortion across the diaphragm. Recently though we see tribrids taking centre stage which combines 3 driver technologies in one IEM (Electrostatic, BA and dynamic driver) The advantage of that is that you take advantage of each driver technologies strengths in certain frequencies. It makes up for deficiencies in other bands.
I know this is off topic, somewhat, but my RHA t20 iems died on me.(damn mmcx connector crapped out on the left iem). Without having to think intently about it, what would you recommend in the 150.00 or less range for some daily drivers that need to hold up to daily use. Im looking at the fiio fh3 but only because i have the fh7 and love that set. I would appreciate your input and any suggestions you may have. I will say i do need a detachable cable, because i use mobile dac/amps like the fiio q5s and btr5 etc, always with a balanced cable and prefer mmcx connections. My music tastes are very varied from classical to alternative to classic rock etc. thanks for any suggestions by you or by anyone else who may want to answer as well, all will be appreciated!!!!
I'll do a side-by-side, but off the top of my head, it's a very normal hybrid sound vs something quite unique in the planar. Less detail on the mid-bass with the Shangri la, also Shangri la drive easier.
p1 is hard to drive on smartphone because it's high resistance. You need an amp to drive normally. You will end up max volume and sound not loud enough on smart phone. After I see this clip, I am going to order timeless because of how unique it is.

I really like the design of the P1, it has a sort of 50s rocket age look. Agree about that disc on the timeless, absurd.
I don't like the p1 fit compared to the timeless, but I have bigger ears. I had hoped the p1 pro would change the shape/fit.

@@AudioLevels Oh, I'm not in the market for something really. Just browsing around to see if something special comes along. I got too many as is. haha
This is actually what has me interested in the P1 Plus, going by the FR graph. It's probably the flattest curve I've seen on an IEM.
If yall want bass, you can never go wrong with the Fiio Fh5 (or even Fh3 for the budget conscious)
Just got the p1 + love them. Love that neutral sound with all that details. Bass isn't a issue with me just need to find some good eartips.
What eartips did you settle on...✌️ 😁
@@jaroslavfricek7772 i forgot its been awhile since i played around with my iems

The real question: How do these stack up to the Blessing 2!? Is this price point to the peak of the value/performance?
I would also like to know this.
I'd like to hear more about the monarch vs monarch mk2

I need an iem thet sounds like lcd x or hd 600 or something in between even better..Hope they will make one..
Does timeless produce better sound quality vs tri i3/pro which has the advantage of combining planar, dd and ba drivers?

I never used a Planar magnetic
What is the difference between a good single DD and a planar magnetic? any difference in tonality and texture?

Can a Lotoo Paw S1 dongle DAC effectively drive the 7Hz Timeless ?
Nice video
I listen to a lot of “busy” rock/prog rock (TOOL). Which is the best choice for that?
Timeless
How would you compare the lz a4 to the a7?
How does 7Hz Timeless compare to HiFiMAN HE400SE? I am new to planar magnetic. Not sure which one should I get.
I own both.... very different Soundstage and experience. Timeless is like sitting in the middle of the stage with the band close to you/around you.
Tin hifi p1 doesn't play on a smartphone?
