My A806 just got (hopefully) a new lease on life...For the first time in its 40 year life, it got some tlc these past few weeks...A new starter/ballast for the fluorescent light, a new timer and new lid switch...and belts too. Now with the lid switch working, the unit switches off when lid is opened and the light in the bin works now. With the new timer, the hum is gone after it fills for rinse cycle...it used to hum for about 15 seconds after filling.. This washer will have to be dragged out of this house over my dead body.
Ive got one of these washing machines! not sure of the year looks around early 1970's. just fixed a minor hose leak and noticed the socket and lamp for the drum (which I see is working in this video) I was wondering if anyone knew the wattage of the bulb and if i can buy a generic one or I have to goto maytag parts to get it. just curious...
