I have never played this song, but it is sure making me fell nostalgic to being in high school marching band. It has been 20 years since those days. This is so good.
Ah, i love this piece... we played some years ago and it's still one of my all time favorites. Can't wait for practicing "Saga Candida" from Appermont next saison!
In my own opinion, the beginning trumpet solo could add more stops between the tercet, and the speed of part2 "the parade of animal"could be played faster since its theme are joy and the vivacity of the animals. But in general, the orchestra did a really good job! They express the emotions perfectly. A great performance!😊
@Fuenteclarinet i dont know what the instrument's called, but its a long, soft and bendy tube ( most are made from plastic ) and when you swing it, it creates a howling sound like the wind(: almost most of the time, more than one is used to create a more prominent effect^^
Well mostly they used "the wind' instrument/machine by the percussion.. but for most band they just made a cup with their hand and just blow it, coz it's stated in the conductor score..
Playing things slow is actually very challenging. You gotta hold yourself back from playing it faster. Which not many are able to do tbh. I'd pay some respect to this orchestra rather than complaining about BPM.
I'm playing this with my Orchestra for a Norwegian championship in Janitsjar band. I play Tuba while my Aunt plays clarinett. And a good friend of mine plays the oboe there. The storm is my fav because I can actually play.
You should have recorded a video and uploaded it on UA-cam cos only looking at the title "Noah's Ark" and hear you guys blowing the air out making it really boring and I have to turn it off and click on something more interesting!
0:02 - The Message
1:15 - Parade Of The Animals
3:05 - The Storm
5:40 - Song Of Hope
8:21 - Best Part (although the horns didn't play loud enough) xD
The best part is the storm - a tuba Player. (Because we can actually play.)
Horns sound terrific!! Too bad they weren't mic'd very well.
I Like Parade Of Animals

@Fuenteclarinet The wind is made with an instrument called 'Wind Machine'
The original piece by Bert Appermont makes teh Oboe's and flutes do the wind (played it mysefl (oboe) under conduction of Bert Appermont)
I hv played this piece during the practice of my skus wind band, the wind sound is made by ppl by blowing winds with our mouth
The wind sound is the best sound. Solid, strong and able to make you cry. I play the trumpet :)
Can also be loud and obnoxious. i.e Xerxes
we built a machine in our orchestra

@Fuenteclarinet While the woodwinds have a 26-bar rest, they blow air. literally.

where are the french horns?❤🤘
It's the greatestst stuff, I 'will owen!
Why is the music so slow at some parts? It's meant to be faster. I mean at the 'parade of the animals' part. If you have the score, you will know.
+Bryan Koh Score says 72 for a quarter, so they actually play it faster than written
Bryan Koh yeahhh
I hate songs that are under 80 BPM for the Majority of the song, i'd speed it up as well

GOOD!!!!
all the non playing orchestra members just blow wind through their instruments
you should mention the composer... :-(

How is the Wind effect done?
My band make the wind effect by waving aluminum foil
