Hair color, tattoos, and “odd” piercings do not change a person’s professionalism! But I believe we are making a lot of progress lately with that! Here’s hoping anyway!
I very much agree! In most work fields we're not there yet but I'm happy to work at a creative agency in the Netherlands where we rock tattoos, piercings and hair in all colors of the rainbow. No need to hide it. It sometimes clashes a little when we work with super corporate brands, but we're great in what we do so there is always mutual respect.

THANK YOU for treating curly hair right 😭 you have no idea how frustrating it is going to a hair stylist that doesn’t know how to work with curly hair :(
Exactly! I’ve been to so many who try to give me wet cuts or beg to straighten my hair because it’s “easier to cut” but they don’t understand that when my hair curls again, it’s going to look uneven
For real, I always kind of feel hurt when salon ladies immediately complain about how thick and curly my hair is the moment I walk in. Like what does complaining about it do? Should I go back in time and change my dna so I won’t have this thick curly hair? I can’t control how I was born! I stopped going to the more known salons because they made me feel bad for making them cut or do anything to my hair and now I go to the lady who cuts my dads hair. She is not the best but since she’s a fellow Latina and she runs a humble little salon she’s always been nice to me and is always willing to try out new things I tell her about. In my area we don’t have any professional curly hair stylist (like the devacurl ones) but I’ve always wanted to try a dry cut and once I explained it to her she was happy to do it. And I she recently bleached my hair so I could dye it pink and she even asked me to send her a picture once I get the dye in my hair so she can see if I did it right or if I need help. She may not be the best hair stylist but the treatment I get from other salons makes me prefer to give her my money since she doesn’t complain or cry just from looking at me walk in the salon.

I know you think the green because it has yellow in it is more flattering around her face but I think some streaks of the blue around her face would be nice to break up all of that green.
I’ve learn more about natural hair in 20 minutes (and I know a good amount about natural hair) then I’ve ever learned in two years of cosmetology school. Thank you sooo much for this video, as a black girl who went to a Predominantly white cosmetology school, I’ve bearly learned about natural. I’ve had to teach myself with my own hair or my friends, and when I finally did learn me (the student) had to teach my class what I know. I will definitely invest in some of these products for myself and my clients
@@chandlergreen124 this helps curly guys and gals and everyone in between because curly hair can’t take as much chemical damage as straight hair. This helps us Tempe what to look for in a local stylist and how to communicate our wants and needs to them.
As a natural hairstylist / instructor I'm so glad you did this.... please keep this vids coming to show the masses how you bleach, color and care for texture hair, thank you❤
I didn’t know you lost texture or curl when you lightened curly or textured hair. I’ve lightened lots of curly and textured hair I’ve just never noticed. Cool! Never stop learning!
Emily Spitznagel generally the hair will break off before you will have total loss of curl pattern. But it can definitely soften and loosen the curl pattern and in very loose or wavy textures it is more noticeable.
I know someone who bleached her hair at home and she had these curls, and when I saw pictures of her hair, it ended up extremely frizzy and w almost no curls, some pieces were straight up straight
I LOVE the colors and curls in her hair! I grew up associating green with Kermit the frog and plants and animals. My grandmothers always complained that I didn't like "girly" colors like pink and purple and yellow but I always knew I looked best in autumn colors and love greens, blues, oranges (and have colored my corkscrew curls with green or orange occasionally.)
Thank you for doing this Guy Tang!! As a curly hair gal I always felt ashamed walking into a salon to get my hair colored because the stylist would often complain on how my hair was “difficult “ or “hard to work with” and would always be questioning how to style and color it when it was curly. The confidence a stylist needs to show really does effect the client as I would always feel uneasy during the whole process with all the uncertainty they would show and express. I’m grateful for you posting so that there is more education with lightening curly hair gals so I can find more amazing stylists like you! Thank you again!!!
Guy is such a warm person. He makes everybody feel comfortable, while still making them laugh. I'd love getting my hair dony by him just to be able to talk to such a radiant person! 💙
Love the green! I've had green hair for a few month only and after trying the whole ranbow I can say it's my favorite color to wear on my hair. Something about it screams of energy and feeling proud and empowered and fierce! People always make a face when I tell them I've had green hair and picture something muddy and ugly but greens can be so bright and shiny! I miss it now!
That's right no stereo typing! I can't stand when people do that. I wear or fix my hair to the way i want and don't care what people say. To me people do that are bullies. I raised to love people for who they are out side and inside. I love how you talk about stuff and give people positive stuff. I love love love to watch your videos! Keep it up! 🤘❤️💙💚💛🧡💜💕💞
If I was a professional colourist, I'd be exclusive to Guy Tang products, I swear! Instead, I'm a stuck-at-home-quarantined amateur, wishing I had collagen powder.
I love their conversation about the negative stereotypes about green hair, it's so true. Green is my favorite color and I've always wanted to dye my hair a dark forest green, but never been brave enough. I had dyed a little bit of my bangs green once in high school and someone called it shit green so now I've always been afraid to dye it all green. :/ Her hair turned out so beautiful though and Guy did an amazing job to preserve her gorgeous natural texture
honestly, I think the reason why green is always related to something negative in movies and stuff because green is considered the color of envy so that may be why.
I bleached my hair last night and I was cursing myself for not having any Olaplex to protect my curls (my hair didn’t all start lifting at the same time, and I had no idea I wasn’t supposed to brush out my hair [did that to make the sectioning and application easier, and I wish I hadn’t]). COVID has really messed with my money or else I would’ve had that Olaplex and the MyHero set to protect my hair. What can I do to boost my hair health again so there’s no breakage? Also, wanted to thank you for having a channel, good products, and making variety videos so everyone can get a little look at what their hair should be like after bleaching and dyeing!
chocolate buttafly thank you so much. I went to Sally’s today and got a toner for the brassy color, and a repair intensive conditioner. If the r.i. isnt quite the right thing, do you have any particular product you recommend for bleached curls?
@@ashleyhorn5381 You can try ORS or aphogee two step treatment and be very careful when using this it makes your hair extremely hard so don't comb or brush it when its dry it's a very strong protein so u cant use it often and aphogee curlific this one is an elasticized it helps with elasticity let me know if this helps
Amazing treatment of curly hair! Her curls are so beautiful. I’m more into soft purple, pinks, etc., but I can appreciate your art using these colors. Thank you Guy.
Her hair is beautiful. The colors really pop. Guy, I love that you can do different hair types. That you are not limited. Awesome! Loving the new song. My sister asked me. Who you were. I was listening to it. I was proud, to brag. He is pure talent. She loves your sound.😊😘
Absolutely incredible result! I was in shock that her curl pattern was still intact! It looked just as healthy and bouncy at the end! Beautiful work guy ❤️❤️
Definitely been afraid to dye my natural hair because I don’t want to lose the curl pattern. I wear colorful wigs instead but I’m kinda over it. Super happy I came across it, but now I’m curious how I’d go about maintenancing my curls with it dyed. Also very curious how long this process took you! I feel like like a lot of stylist never share that aspect but you should because y’all put in the tiiiiime!!! People should appreciate it more. Also, I wonder what this style looks like flat ironed too 😇🖤✨
Just shampoo the roots, unless you have product buildup. Use a leave in conditioner and a curl cream every time it's wet. Use satin pillow cases or head wraps for in between hair washes, and try not to wash your hair more than you need to. If your hair needs extra love and care, use coconut oil in the shower. I prefer to rinse mine out so it's not too oily. I dye and bleach my hair all the time, and I have very thick textured hair, and these tips keep my hair healthy without having to spend money on expensive products.
Peoples natural curl patterns are different when wet. I’d use the term “more defined” or “more relaxed” cause some African American people, or anyone with tight curly patterns, will be offended by the term “noodles”. Just food for thought. Blessings!
@@kemmli don't worry, it happens! Last day I was SO MAD at my life and I, without thinking at all about how people would've interpret my words, wrote mean words! I really didn't even know why I wrote something THAT stupid. When I am fine I would just say it in a different way or not say it at all. Sometimes emotion make you say/do things you didn't mean to communicate!
I remember when you posted the video of Unique with the purple and pink hair and she said something along the lines of her daughter being embarrassed cause she’s trying to be a cool mom (I’ll have to go back and watch it) but she looked SOO BEAUTIFUL. I hope her daughter is proud of how awesome of a mom she has 😭💕
I 100% agree with what your saying about looking unprofessional with vibrant colored hair. Hair color doesn’t and will never affect the way you work. I’ve been thinking of coloring my own hair but hesitant because of dress code at my workplace. We’re only allowed to have NATURAL colored hair.
If you ever want a Guinea pig with curly hair, I’M YOUR GIRL! I’m I believe a level 3, curly hair, all virgin hair. I’ve gone red years ago, and I got to a level 9/10 very easily and quickly in one setting, I love crazy colours. I’ve been wanting to go a emerald green for years, but I’ve yet to find a stylist that I feel my curls are safe with. I’ve been following you for a long time, and can’t wait until the day I can get my hair dyed by you. So if you ever want someone to let you just freestyle and do whatever colours, I’m happy to let you play with my curls.
It’s so refreshing to see someone respectfully work with curls, not disparage the hair texture but want to work with it and preserve it as well, I hope more professionals like him pop up in England cause here it’s hard finding ppl who know how to properly work with curly hair
I must say you did a great job preserving her curls. I've had my hair bleached professionally but their lack of experience with textured hair resulted in the complete destruction of my hair. Im talking about bone straight dry hair. 😖
This is just so adorable. I can’t stop looking at this. This is definitely my favorite color you have done on her. Now my daughter wants this on her naturally curly hair. Your products work amazing on all hair types. My money piece has the magenta, purple and blue mystique in it. My hair feels like silk and I’m relaxed and lifted. I get so many compliments. Love you @Guytang‼️‼️
Pretty lady! I love the colours she chose and her curls are amazing. I have the most enormous respect for all those natural hair ladies out there, their hair is beautiful but so much work!
It’s so nice to see a hairstylist working with a black client with curly hair because it’s rare to see that! I think the hair color came out very vibrant and the curls are still in tact😊👏🏽
Either UA-cam is officially watching and listening or this is Kismet! For the first time in 15 years I actually have taken great pains to make sure that I don't damage or lose my curl pattern when I bleach my hair for an aquamarine and ocean blue summer spectacular! Thank you guy, fantastic information and a truly lovely client.
I worked in EMS for 12 years & I dyed my hair pink & had to wear a wig working because of the dress code I get it but at the same time I don’t I was a professional 24-7 Literally . I’m grateful living in a time of massive positive change
Art theory time! Green is typically used in the color schemes of villains in comics because non-primary colors have a less clean look. Heroes will have a lot of red/blue/white/yellow because these colors are crisp and eye catching. Hulk, who was originally cast as a villain, has green and purple color schemes, i.e., non primary colors. Superman, spiderman, captain america have blue/red/white color stories by comparison. I have always been interested in this, so I asked my artist friends about it.
The reason people associate green with bad is because of the phrase “x maxes me green with envy” and envy is usually associated with evil or being rotten. Her hair looks amazing though great job!
I love it Guy, she's so beautiful. Those curls and colours are gorgeous and fun. I feel great thanks for asking. You're an amazing human being I just love you and everything you do and stand for, a genuinely good man 💕💕💕💕
That's 🔥. You KNOW hair. And her hair is still healthy, even after all that processing. Please do more videos on women w/ textured hair. I am in love with her color, especially that blue & purple.
The shrinkage is extreme. And I love the color. I’ve been watching your videos for years and I know you don’t get too many natural hair clients, but I still love your videos. I get more excited when you have a natural hair client. I know you are great at your work and don’t listen to the naysayers
I’ve been dying to see you do curly hair! I’ve been watching you for years. Seeing you transform beautiful hair to all colors of the rainbow. But I’ve never seen you color natural curly hair. I have natural curly hair and I’ve always wanted to color it. I wish I was in California to have you do it! That is totally in my bucket list now! Do you have any stylist in Houston you could recommend for curly hair and who may also use your products?
Unique hair is stunning. Beautiful curls and colours. As Im a Gen X I even remember the punk era as a child and edgy 1980s..so I never been judgemental about someone's look colour or hair. Each to their own. It what is on the inside that counts.
I have curly hair and there’s times when I’ve been bored of my dark brown hair and I want to go lighter but I’m terrified of getting my curls ruined because I’ve been it happen before. I love that you are educated and more hair stylist should be
GUY TANG you give ME so much LIFE!!!!!!! Thank YOU for being YOU!!! Gorgeous thank you for showing me that I can be BEAUTIFUL too!!! Keep being YOU. I see you.
I have curly hair too, but I love fun colors too much not to bleach it. My curls have softened a bit, but I honestly like them this way too. And having blue and green in my hair atm is the best thing I ever did. Don't be afraid of color!

I know someone who bleached her hair at home and she had these curls, and when I saw pictures of her hair, it ended up extremely frizzy and w almost no curls, some pieces were straight up straight
It more so loosens.
Love that you did a video on black hair! Thank you.
Her smile said everything. I loved the way the colors brought out the best in each other. Beautiful!!!
Protein treatments
chocolate buttafly thank you so much.
Did anyone peep he called his gloves hand condoms? 😂
🤣🤣
He calls capes body condoms too 😂 I'm about to make all my clients uncomfortable with these lovely new terms 😭
Your knowledge of all types of hair is amazing ❤️❤️
Amazing treatment of curly hair! Her curls are so beautiful. I’m more into soft purple, pinks, etc., but I can appreciate your art using these colors. Thank you Guy.
The Green Lantern is a good guy as is Aqua Man. they are both green and green blue.
Yassssssssss I love Greeeeeennn so much
I love her hair when it was bleached it looked like Roman noddles and I love Roman noodles
X2 🥺
Roman noodles hhh
Her curls were perfectly preserved!!! This is the standard. I need an appointment next
I LOVE that you talk chemistry and process... it is not babble, it is helpful... every time! Thank you Thank you.
Her hair is beautiful. The colors really pop. Guy, I love that you can do different hair types. That you are not limited. Awesome! Loving the new song. My sister asked me. Who you were. I was listening to it. I was proud, to brag. He is pure talent. She loves your sound.😊😘
You made my day thank you so much.
Proof you can lighten texture hair without frying it!! Love you Guy!! 💚💚
Absolutely incredible result! I was in shock that her curl pattern was still intact! It looked just as healthy and bouncy at the end! Beautiful work guy ❤️❤️
First thing I thought was mermaids. Unique has amazing hair and this is a beautiful outcome. Bravo! Brava!
9:20 looks like noodles
Finished the video now, and OH MY GOD, she looks GORGEOUS with those colours!!!
Peoples natural curl patterns are different when wet. I’d use the term “more defined” or “more relaxed” cause some African American people, or anyone with tight curly patterns, will be offended by the term “noodles”. Just food for thought. Blessings!
Honeybeedoeshair oh, goodness, sorry, I realise that can be a bit offensive now. I am hungry and too focused on food rn, I didn’t think it through.
Super cute! I wasn't convinced on the green in the mixing bowl but I love it and the colors flatter her so much!
omgggg her curls are so perfect, the coils look so juicy and plump and voluminous.
Her hair is so beautiful, love you guy!!! You're my favorite youtuber. 😊😊😊
She looks like the earth. 😊😌🌎💚💙
I wish this product was out before I destroyed my curl pattern with bleach. Beautiful results 💜
Hello from Russia! Excellent result. I think the client is happy. You are the best, Guy!👌🤗👍
Gorgeous! You are a true artist. I've been doing color for 41 yrs. I've learned so much from you! Love u! 💜💙💛💚❤✨💕🌹
Her hair looks sooooooo amazing! Like, omg!!!!! Those colors together look so good! Once again, you did an extraordinary job.
Amazing. I like that he talks the language of what BOTH the customer and stylist are concerned about to achieve optimal results
The reason people associate green with bad is because of the phrase “x maxes me green with envy” and envy is usually associated with evil or being rotten. Her hair looks amazing though great job!
Guy is really the natural girl hair legend! 💯🙌🏾💗💎🦋
Love that I am seeing a texture so similar to mine. It give me hope for my color goals and feels so inclusive. Thank you 😊
Hope to see more women of color with different hair textures on your channel I've been waiting for this and she looks awesome❤️
Do you have any stylist in Houston you could recommend for curly hair and who may also use your products?
wow you bleached her hair beautifully, her curl pattern didn't even change. I'm shook
Green hair = mother nature. Yes queen!!! She looks stunning 😍
Guy, you’re truly the top hairstylist on UA-cam. LOOK at those beautiful curls!
I love that you are educated and more hair stylist should be
Her hair looks delicious
16:09 her texture/curl pattern is beautiful 😍
It turned out beautifully!! She’s so pretty and her curls are flawless!! 😍
I'm so shocked that you don't have more views Guy, you are a hair god!
@I'MDEprEssEdaNDqUIrkY ! exactly!
I’m really excited you finally came out with a lightening line for ethnic hair too
😮😮😮😮 I am BLOWN AWAY!!! I had no idea you could bleach hair AND still have perfect curls. 😍😍😍 Guy is the BUSINESS! 😎
We stan a curly haired queen. Lovely
She looks so confident and glowing in her new hair. It’s beautiful and unique, just like her.
Yaaaaayyyy textures hairrrr aaaaahhhh 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Her curl pattern is gorgeous 😍 From the bleaching to the coloring everything look so perfect.
Where did you get you cuffs
He post the link to them on his Instagram :-)
She has AMAZING hair 😍 The way you touch and treat her hair gave me tingles,True Master,👑💯✔️

This is so important! You're such an inspiration to me and my channel. I love you Guy xx
Omg it looks so amazing! It's giving me mermaid vibes.
Do more curly hair vids! Yay! ❤💋
The riddler in Batman is green 😂 I love it.
Omg she's so pretty and the hair looks amazing and ILY
COME TO THE COOKOUT GUY! Shit come to the KICK BACK THE BABY SHOWER THE GIRLS NIGHT JUST COME TO EVERYTHING LMAOOO
I have curly hair too, but I love fun colors too much not to bleach it. My curls have softened a bit, but I honestly like them this way too. And having blue and green in my hair atm is the best thing I ever did. Don't be afraid of color!
love you so much guy, unlike others idolized for doing hair that don't know how to work with textures other than fine and straight you're a real hair stylist! so much love for what you do!
