On an emulator, you should see a tab that says cheats, when you click the tab it should say something like “add cheat” click add cheat and there you can paste the cheat code, name it, then save. it can also help if I know which emulator you're using so I can give you a more brief description.

Hi! I tried it on melon ds and it worked. so I think you should make sure you checked the box to activate the cheat and that you copied the whole code down, also remember you have to press B to use it. I hope this helps!🙂

Idk why but it unlocks everyone except R.O.B. I might get a better cheat code that will unlock R.O.B
