I just did a hydro mod on my AE 1500. It was very legible before however, now it’s crazy readable! I like my 1500 as much as my mudmans or square metal gshocks. It’s absolutely amazing!
@ All I did was use 100 percent silicone oil with a low viscosity I bought from Micheal’s in the art section. Then I filled up a small container with oil, took module while everything submerged. I then assembled everything underneath oil. It was super easy and not a single bubble. Yes, you can read it from across room.
@@Bear-nu8xm When you say "...took module while everything submerged...", I am just not following. Can you give more details and also what kind of silicone oil you used?
@ Apologies. I took the module out from the bezel. The module is the digital portion with battery and screen. I separated that from case of watch. The case part is outside with glass portion and buttons. I then put both in the oil and kept them underneath the oil entire time. I reassembled the module back into the outer portion that has glass, buttons and writing with illuminator and ten year battery written on it. I made sure to keep everything under oil when I put it back together. As for the type of oil, I know it says 100 percent silicone oil with low viscosity written on it. I got oil from art section at craft store. I’m at work now so don’t know exact wording on oil bottle.
@ There’s many tutorials on UA-cam on how to hydro mod watches. I just watched those. I haven’t come across anyone doing it to this model however, it worked perfectly for me. If you keep everything submerged while reassembling, you should be fine
I haven't had my hands on the other watch yet but I do not regret buying the GD 010 it's on my wrist right now and it has been for the past 4 days the dual LED lights in it are super bright in pitch darkness it's comfortable on the wrist it's not sticking in anywhere or uncomfortable at all so I don't have to change the strap nato I would not recommend getting the negative display though even though it has a beautiful orange if you do buy the green and black one too and swap screens put a positive inside the orange and then just sell the other one

It's really not hard at all to swap out the battery. It requires extreme levels of incompetance to do damage to the watch during such a simple task.
