This movie is based on the first book of a series, in which it also is made clear that he's well.

And not only that, at the end of the movie, he said he returned a year later after Arrietty and her family left, and he said that stuff had been disappearing.

Yea. Spirited Away was great. My Neighbor Totoro was banging and of course Howel's Moving Castle is a master piece.

Yeah if they could live in harmony with other humans arrietty's family could have done everything they've only dreamed of before.. like arrietty's mom seeing the ocean for the first time, living in the doll house. The ending makes me sad but it wouldnt feel as nostalgic if it was a perfectly happy ending like any other children's movies. Thats why i love the ghibli

I didn't expect that Arriety will leave with her family and Spiller, i thought they would live in the Dollhouse. And i cried when Sho is running just for Arriety, damn Shawn i hope his surgery goes well.
His surgery actually went really well. But Sho and her never met again. That was the last time they met. But, Sho survived yeah. :)

It's been 8 years since I've seen this, it beings back memories. My adopted big brother got the CD for this movie in his local library and brought it home for me since he thought I'd like it, (since I was a very energetic girl who couldn't sit still so watching something would settle me down lol) it was my first time ever seeing a Ghibli movie or even a Japanese animation. I watched it and fell in LOVE with it, every time I come back from school I'll change and go straight to the tv put in the cd and watch it till it ends, I watched it so many times that I lost count (this is where all my artistic nature began), when my brother had to return it I cried bc I thought I'd never see it again. Time passed and I watched my very first anime which was DB on tv, it came around 7pm so I'd stayed at that time to watch it, it had 4 ep each day so I loved it. As I grew I started watching naruto, bleach and other animes and at that time I had completely forgotten about Arrietty and it was in only 3 years. Now I found it again and I am so thankful this was created bc with out this film I would of never loved animation, art, anime, etc I never would of became an artist this movie is the reason for who I am today. Damn I feel like crying...

The studio isn't known for making sequels, but if I had the power to do so. I would take a similar book series The Littles and implement elements of that series into a a sequel for this movie.

I think I had a crush on Sho when he caught Arriety taking the tissue paper at night. He looks so beautiful and calm lying there my heart literally raced when he stared without blinking.

Almost 9 years old, and still one of the best and most memorable anime I've seen and hold to my heart.
This is one of the best Studio ghibli films i have ever seen, the plot may be simple, but their connection together really touched me in my heart, if you haven't seen this, PLEASE, by all means, watch it, you WONT regret it!

It's a Ghibli film, and Miyazaki helped with the adaptation of the book, but this was the first directing role for Ghibli animator Hiromasa Yonebayashi.
I watched this beautiful movie 2 times, I just love Studio Ghibli so much. Those guys produce real masterpieces 😍
Among the male characters in Ghibli movies, I fell in love and get attached with Sho. He's so calm yet so sweet. An ideal man. His voice, the one I want to hear every morning.

I just watched this film for the first time and it’s so lovely!! I love how even tiny people living by scraps manage to have a way better house than I do lmao. I love the backgrounds there and whenever they’re wandering to parts of the house walking on the nails

OMG! I saw this movie when I was a kid. The setting has been in so many of my dreams and I didn’t know if it was even real or not. I searched for a movie that had the setting I always see in dreams and I found the movie ‘when marnie was here’ it had a similar setting so it half satisfied my curiosity and I guessed that it was the one. But I saw this trailer and I know this is it! I’m so glad because I could never remember the film that I saw in my dreams so often after years off curiosity!

This is actually my favorite of all the Ghibli films so far. It was a beautiful blend of excitement, danger and beautiful surroundings (although the film itself actually played it all in a very relaxing way.)

I love this movie! It's my favorite, the animation is amazing, the songs are beautiful and sometimes I wish I was that small, and the best part is I own it on DVD, and I watch it over and over again.

* Sho is so kind. Figuratively, he has a good heart.
And for me, the saddest part of the film is the idea that Arriety's family is leaving that old house. Sho's grandfather is so kind, they want to leave in the doll house. Arriety's family is part of the house, and it's history. In short, when they leave, that house miss a piece of itself.

actually this anime is the result of a collaboration between Studio Ghibli, Toho Company, Walt Disney Company, and several other companies.
The Toho Company handles distribution in Japan, while distribution in France, Canada and the United States is handled by the Walt Disney Company.

@@ghaveduproi7412 I think it's based on a book so the ending isn't really Studio Ghibli's fault. It isn't bad in my opinion, quite original actually but just doesn't give one closure.
I was thinking........ do you know that story of the man from the 17th or 18th century who got lost at sea one night then woke up, to find little people, soldiers, binding him with ropes?
Then they took him to their leader... it's an old one.
I was thinking...... what if Ghibli animated that one, then made another story for Arrietty? Maybe she and her family would hear of the island kingdom of little people, they'd have an adventure to reach there and discover the place. Would be nice to see her again.

This movie has such a beautiful and delicate atmosfere. While it may not be the best studio ghibli movie, it's definitely one of the most memorable ones. Plus I love the soundtrack.

I’m cried after I watched this story, I feel like my mind became so empty, the storyline is very good and I like Arrietty and Sho, and I am sad because they have to separate, I hope they can meet again. I love that what make me felt touched is after the ending, they have an ‘aftertaste’ that stay in your heart.

Watch the British Dub of Arriety. It has natural sounding VAs, and suits better since Arriety is based of the british novel 'The Borrowers'. Trust.
