Thank you so much Lisa - I’ve always loved Charles James and his ability to elevate fashion into another realm! I’m so glad you enjoyed! Happy Holidays and stay safe!
I just love the Taxi dress- I would order it in every colour !! lol Scott , once again a fantastic video and may I wish you a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year.... lets hope the covid will just disappear !
Dear Mr Schiavone, thank you for the best presentation of Charles James life and work.I first learned of this genius watching another UA-camr HauteLeMode today! This is followed by researching more Charles James. Your narrative is informative and most entertaining. I am inspired .I taught myself to sew and now enhance and embellished everything I wear.I'm presently working on a Mari Gras costume and head dress. Sincerely Your Texas Gal Lillian
Thank you so much for reaching out! I’m glad you enjoyed my video. Congratulations on your Mardi Gras costume! I’m working on a new video which should be out mid-January- watch this space! ❤️x
BRAVO Scott! You outdid yourself on this episode, visually, artistically, educationally etc. I have to watch it multiple times just so I can pause it to appreciate every dress. OMG I wish I could have seen that museum experience, they would have had to throw me out at closing, lol. Needless to say I look forward to every episode! Please say safe and even with lock-down enjoy the holiday season, Merry Christmas and a sincere wishes for a wonderful New Year.
Wow! I’m so impressed by your knowledge on fashion and Charles James is someone I’ve just started getting into so this is perfect timing for me 🖤 I’m loving your content.
Thank you so much! It takes a lot of research to produce each episode! I’m glad I made the information entertaining, that you enjoyed the video and that it came just at the right time for you! Charles James is a couture architect! He’s amazing... ENJOY!
Charles James actually suffered from OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) as well as probably Narcissism. That was why his businesses always failed. His OCD prevented him from leading a normal life. There are documented stories of him taking 5 years to deliver a dress. Or going to the customers house and taking a dress back to redo the sleeve. His obsessive perfectionism crippled his career.
Viewing James from a modern perspective, his dresses are both breathtaking and... stodgy? There is a stiffness to them that is currently very out of favor (although perfect for their era). But one can look at them and see the vast and lasting influence James has had on fashion. Siriano, Posen, even McQueen, and Tomoko Nakamichi, all nothing without James having come first.
Thank you so much for your kind words and for taking the time to watch it twice! Chanel is already on the list so stay tuned! Happy holidays and all the best for 2021
Damn I wish I could sew and drape like that.
