- The Ducati Panigale V2 - the review by KNOX
The Ducati Panigale V2 is one of, if not the most beautiful motorcycle on Earth! Emerson said:
“Never lose an opportunity of seeing anything beautiful, for beauty is God's handwriting.”
The Ducati Panigale V2 personifies this quote, this is a beautiful motorcycle and it makes you take every opportunity to take that in. Absorbing its beauty from different angles, seeing it pop against breath-taking scenery’s, watching others admire it on ride outs.
Ducati got the aesthetic of this bike so right, it is simply jaw dropping.… but the fact that it rides so well - well that’s another story altogether!
The drama felt when you look at it matches the way it rides. From initial turn of the ignition, you are met with the thunder of the v-twin and its loud exhaust note. In person the V2 sounds different to what I imagined it from seeing other online footage, its loud and sounds incredible on full gas, the thing just booms.
The Panigale V2 is powerful. Anyone thinking this is a poor relation to a Panigale V4 is mistaken. The V2 may be a relation, but its not a poor relation to anything - its rapid! The 955cc SuperQuadro v-twin pumps out 155hp and 77lb-ft of torque. There is a lump of torque down low, but it doesn’t run out of puff like a traditional V-twin might, the V2 delivers some serious urgency at the top of the rev range. The road going appeal of a 1000cc superbike is the feeling of power that you don’t get with smaller capacity sports bikes. The V2 has a lot of the lower speed urgency and grunt that makes it an incredibly engaging bike to ride at realistic road going speeds, and it’s in gear performance is excellent!
We clocked the V2 acceleration at 0-60mph in 3 seconds, 0-100mph in 6 seconds and 0-140mph in 9.7 seconds - all very impressive numbers!
Handling wise, the V2 is amazing, showa big piston forks and a sachs shock providing the suspension set up. This is a fairly plush set up as it is, really nice at handling road going bumps and undulations, for track, Id probably want to stiffen it up, in particular the shock, but it’s all adjustable. The riding position is on the aggressive side of sporty, quite a bit more sporty than a GSXR for example, with a jacked up rear seat and high rear set position. This wouldn’t be a bike I’d like to do long milage on, but for shorter blasts, it’s awesome, and for track days, it would be fantastic!
Completing the handling package is a fantastic brake and tyre set up!
Of course, no bike is perfect and the Ducati Panigale has a couple of things we noticed, but they are minor blemishes in an otherwise incredible package and forgotten the moment you cast eyes on it again!
To say we enjoyed this review, from riding it, to shooting it through to editing is an understatement and we hope you enjoy it too!

Runs very nicely on silkolene

@@KnoxArmour Great Video!! Price aside would you go for the Ducati Panigale v2 or Panigale V4S, if you were doing mostly street riding? Thanks in advance for your answer.
@@curiousdreamer546 For mostly street riding, the V2 would be a much better bike.
So glad they made this bike. Really don't need 200+hp for the street and this has plugged a big gap in the market. Needless to say, it's absolutely stunning!
Couldn't agree more!
Love this bike, it's a dream come true and I feel so fortunate to have gotten to a point in my life where I can buy a ducati and this is what they are producing. It's the perfect motorcycle.
I have this bike and this is the best review i have seen

The amount of production went into the making of this video, unbelievable outcome! One of the finest ways to provide a review without just talking numbers. Impressive as always! Keep the good work on👍
This is best review I’ve ever seen. Other channels have videos 10-15-20 minutes long but they just talk about specs which we can find anywhere. Keep it up buddy
Many thanks, really appreciate the kind feedback, we try our best! Aaron KNOX
This is not a UA-cam video - it’s a masterful mini documentary. Kudos Knox. I bought a V2 in March (on the basis of @themissendenflyer review) & I absolutely adore it. First sports bike at age 54 (to compliment an s1000R). The first hour makes you feel 20. After the second hr you feel 90 😂. Today I’m in Dorset having ridden 2 hrs yesterday to get here & everyone comments on the bike. Especially people who don’t ride. This bike just looks like everyone’s idea of what a motorcycle should look like. And riding it makes you feel something that’s hard to describe. It’s just special. And this video captures just how special this bike is. Not on stats etc. But as a motorcycle & an object of desire.
Many thanks, really appreciate your kind feedback, we put a lot into these productions and its good to have your comment! All the best, Aaron KNOX
I got mine in May and I absolutely agree.
The best Ducati Panigale V2 review out there. Great Job !!! 👍
Proud to be the owner of this gorgeous machine
Hi James, thinking of buying one seriously. Only thing I am disappointed with is the heat under the seat. Does it toast balls that too much as mentioned everywhere? I like my balls 🤣 thanks
@@zbynekskrampal8530 It does heat up but it won't toast your balls... Just install heat shield and it will be fine
@@tjthomas37 OK, good to know. Otherwise you are satisfied? I am looking for some sportbike with around 130-150bhp and the offer is very poor right now. So I guess this could be the sweetspot, except the price of course :)
This Panigale v2 L-Twin is just amazing. It really is so modernized with all the tech and improvement on the L-Twin engine. This motorcycle has very useful power, on road and on track. I can't believe how much attention it draw on the street too. The motorcycle comes out with top quality components and and modifications are very limited to the motorcycle, unless you want to add carbon and more expensive aftermarket parts of course.
Now that is what you call proper video production. Love the aspect ratio and cinematography. Good man
stunning shots, the commentary was brilliant! enjoyed every single second of this video……JUST WOW!
Many thanks, really appreciate your kind feedback! Aaron Knox
Fantastic video Mr Knox, beautiful production 👏
I would consider choosing this over the V4. The V2 is so raw. At almost $17k in the U.S., it might be a couple of years for me to own one. But it will happen someday.
Don't forget about insurance. Insurance for this bike will probably make you sad.
Cheaper = MV F3 800 and RS 660
$22,000 in Australia...
@@Everendlesss I got AAA insurance, comprehensive and full coverage for $624/year. Not bad at all.
@@FaRRWestGee If i remember correctly mv is bringing back the f4 next year and after 10 years finally updating for the f3/f4 line with that.

I'm in love with my white panigale v2. nice review btw. Quick question, how do you turn off the circle light in front while you are rifind the bike? I can't find that option, thank you!
What a stunning bit of kit! Dream bike right there.
So gorgeous 😍
This has to be the best review of this super pretty bike! I really enjoyed the beautiful cinematics and had to re-watch it to actually listen to you talk about the bike 🤩I was lucky to test drive the white Panigale V2 for two days and now I am at the edge of my seat waiting to pick up my V2 Bayliss in a couple of days. Until then this is one of the videos that will be running on repeat!
Many thanks Olivier! The Bayliss edition with the Ohlins components will be a step up from the one we tested and should be absolutely amazing! Enjoy. Aaron KNOX

I get the impression that this bike has a soul. Excited to finally see the streetfighter V2 with this engine!
A streetfighter v2 would be amazing!
@@KnoxArmour they're announcing the V2 in about 5 weeks
Rode both last weekend. Streetfighter v2 is comfortable and lovely but I would take the Panigale V2 despite being wristy any day of the week for the excitement the handling the noise and the sheer joy of riding it!
Brilliant review! I would like to go to the air strip! Nicely done!
Great scenery & road, Hartside, Alston by the looks of it. Rode it many times as I only live 7 miles away.

Great video on the V2!
Great video. I have this bike in red. You seem to get it to wheelie easy. I’d like to know what settings you had it in and what gear you used to wheelie. Also, did you use the clutch up technique or what?
Your review was spot on.
Thanks, glad you thought so! We had it with traction control turned off. It should power wheelie in 1st no clutch (or with clutch). 2nd gear is hard to get a wheelie but you can do so over a crest. Thanks, Aaron KNOX
Beautifully shot Knox Team! Got a soft spot for this bike, just need the hard cash to follow up ;)

What a masterful review! Can't believe I only just saw it! Also you guys make the best gear there is. Please bring back the Ford jacket! 🙏
Do all sport bikes need regular battery charging just to get th engine to turn over? Did they not have alternators?

really the most beautiful sports bike I've ever seen. in the process of making it my next purchase.
Quality video. Beautiful looking bike, great for shorter weekend rides. Supersport will not be the same experience, but certainly comfier to sit on and better for longer rides. Will try them both as they are similar prices.

Hi! Can you help me a bit? I have a Panigale V2 I love the sound of the 2-cylinder, that's why I bought it, but it's simply so raw, so shaky that it's too much for me. Are there any 2-cylinder supersport engines that run smoother? or is this the case with all manufacturers?
Sweet video! I own one. What a beautiful machine. One question though. When you did the acceleration test, what was your exact set-up? As I'm never able to get a powerwheelie like you did haha. Thanks!
Thanks Kevin, glad you liked the video. We had it with traction control turned off. It should power wheelie in 1st no clutch (or with clutch). 2nd gear is hard to get a wheelie but you can do so over a crest. Thanks, Aaron KNOX
Wow that thing is amazing
Panigale V2 white and Ducati Supersport 950s white.
The 2 most beautiful sportbikes ever made.
Immaculate Production as usual.
Many thanks glad you thought so! Aaron Knox
I rode directly behind one of these on the Distinguished Gentlemens Ride on Sunday. Something tells me it's a little uncomfortable at slow stop, start riding because the rider bailed half way through the ride. 😅
Very, very, pretty though.
Rode one last weekend and it does get toasty around the chestnuts in urban traffic but it’s such a joy to ride it’s worth the heat!
Great video and what a lovely looking machine. Now all we need is a V2 Streetfighter.
That would be cool!
Rode both last weekend and will take the Panigale every time for me!
Despite being wristy and less comfortable, it’s such a joy to ride!
Absolutely beautiful bike
I am ordering one in red in the next few weeks. Can't wait to give my Monster 821 a friend in the garage.
This is the best review that I have seen of this bike. My wife just picked up one and I couldn't agree more with all your comments, fast, nibble, amazing brakes but It runs super hot and starting it is a huge issue, it can take several seconds and you feel like the battery is about to die on you. I guess a Lithium battery will have to be installed soon. Subscribing.
Thanks, so glad you agree, shows we're not going mad! ;)... Hope she enjoys her V2! Aaron KNOX

@ 1:22 what settings did he have it in to get it to wheelie like that
I’m currently between a hypermotard 950 SP or the V2, this video REALLY made me lean toward the V2, awesome review.
Thanks, glad you thought so. V2 is a brilliant bike! Aaron KNOX
Love the hypermotard. Both would make a nice bike. I bought the V2 only because I’m too short for the hypermotard. But the White V2 will break necks everywhere you go. Get ready for compliments all day.
Rode a v2 Mutlistrada, then the V2 panigale, monster and Streetfighter V2 last weekend (thanks SMC Sheffield and Josh👍) all nice bikes but the Panigale blew me away, I am still listing after one!
That white is just 🔥
Very well done review. I am a V4s owner and I really liked all the information you gave and in the manner for which you presented it.
I originally was looking to get a 959 when I bought my V4s but the shop I was buying from had a very slightly used V4s on consignment because the kid was in the military and got called back to duty overseas and couldn’t justify owning the bike just sitting in a garage. So, I got the V4s for highway robbery prices and walked away much happier. That being said, I am really captivated by these v2’s. They really offer a lot in the way of a bike that would just be so fun because you could go wide open throttle through so many more corners on the v2 where it is just not possible with the sheer unbridled power of the V4s. Also, for the money, I don’t think the looks, sound, or feel could be beaten with the v2 package. I think the v2 with an aprakovíc system would just be so awesome.
Many thanks, really appreciate it! V2 is definitely a weapon, but yes full throttle is much more accessible in comparison the V4! Aaron KNOX
I’m trying to get my first motorcycle is this a good first bike for me?
Beautiful bike. Beautiful video.
Great review. Thank you
Thanks for watching!
what settings do you run to make it power wheelie? mine does not go up at all.
Turn anti wheelie off first, then its mostly a clutch up job in 1st gear. Thanks, Aaron KNOX

Its more the engine heat tbh. Thanks, Aaron KNOX
Beautiful
What means "3 Year PCP offer"? is that just available in the UK?
Its a UK offer and UK terminology. but basically it means that you finance the depreciation of the machine over the time you have it and then just hand it back to the dealer at the end of the finance period. Almost like a rental but on paper you do own it. Hope that helps. Thanks, Aaron KNOX
I was so in love with this bike
Until
The bad starting issue .
Doesn’t it start first push of the button
Or does it take a few pushes to start .
It's not that bad to be fair and definitely got better the more we rode it. It just can stutter for a while until it turns over, basically its not instantaneous or super refined in its start up. Probably similar to the indian ftr1200 we had which was also a big twin. But not like a big ktm twin that just fires up straight away... Hope that helps. Aaron Knox
Hey, Neil. I was having the same issue. I told one of my friends who owns a Ducati 899 Panigale about it. He told me it's because of the charcoal canister, which is literally there for emission reduction. He was having the same issue with his bike until he removed the charcoal canister. So I had my dealership remove my charcoal canister and that solved the problem. Now my bike starts the first time, every time.
@slesperado thanks mate
A good solution
Nice video! How does it compare to the GSXR 750?
Haha, funnily enough we did a comparison, you'll have to stay tuned for the video. thanks, Aaron KNOX
@@KnoxArmour Great look forward to it! A GSXR or ‘smaller’ (150hp 😆) panigale will likely be my next bike so that will be v interesting
As a former owner of a V4 I would give it a try, the V4 is a lot on track and I was slower than on my previous V2 1,200
I've got the 959 with underbelly akrapovics.
It's equally as beautiful as the v2, maybe the aggressive front of the v2 pips it just a little.
I think the v2 will be my next bike, as I really don't need anymore power than the baby panigale has to offer. And now I've had a v2, the Japanese bikes just seem a little boring.
Not saying they aren't faster, it's just the sound and the drama of the Engine and exhaust popping that make me smile every time I ride it.
Nice bike Mark, bet the akrapovic adds a bit of drama too! All the best, Aaron KNOX
I agree with you, i love the sound of the inline 4 on the Japanese bikes but because they all look the same its kind of a turn off for me, i love to be different that is why i went for the V2. The MV Augusta F3 is also a wonderful choice
I bought this bike mostly because of this video. 😎🙌
