In the end, Butcher and Ryan may heal each other's emotional scars. But sadly I don't think this is the kind of show that does happy endings (except maybe for Maeve).
Ryan's actor is really good this season, I was really nervous that he was gonna be kinda shitty or just off balanced in scenes but hes really nailing it!
Season 5 will end with Homelander hosting a raid against the White House and instead of a Homelander clone disguised as Black Noir killing him, it’ll be Ryan doing it making his mom and Butcher proud
There are things that stuck in Ryan's head, his time with Becca and her lessons, and Butcher's "Don't be a cunt". Ryan's mind has that what's right and wrong, he cares about people.
This is actually so sad. Because you can see how much Ryan wants Butcher to be his father. But Butcher’s hatred for himself makes it impossible for him to love Ryan the way he deserves. I can’t imagine how sad and lonely Ryan feels, to want so desperately to be loved by someone who won’t allow themselves to.

Ryan is too good for The Boys, he realized that even if he isn't coming back to Homelander, he'd be fine, it's the last thing he could do for Butcher. So, him questioning why Butcher threw the cookies is more so, an affirmation.
It's his love for his wife, and the promise to take care of the only part of her that still exists in Ryan. He's gotta fix what's broken, starting with his relationship with Ryan and himself not being honest to those he cares about the most.

I know some ppl aren’t feeling this season, but this season has given some amazing acting from the cast and some really strong character moments. Here we have possibly one of the most “man” characters ever in Billy Butcher being completely open, vulnerable and expressing his emotions to a kid who completely get him but as a kid, he knows he can’t save Butcher. This is a truly fantastic scene and both Karl Urban and the kid actor deserve major props, as well as the writers.
This is the kind of humanity that was missing from the original source material. Comic Butcher would never say anything like this. Chances are, he would’ve tried to kill Ryan right then and there at the end of Season 2

This is what I mean, Butcher is Ryan’s Father not Homelander because not Biological but needed and Butcher was being real with Ryan unlike Homelander and I guess why Butcher and his Wife didn’t have kids of their own is because I guess Butcher was afraid he would be like his Father in certain ways and we all seen a few of that

My heart hurt so much for both of them in this scene. I'm not ready to see Butcher die and hope he survives to season five to see the inevitable end of Homelander for everything he's done
Ryan has the potential to become a real super hero. One that doesn't fake his saves, one that actually feels for humanity and wants to help them and save them without expecting any gratitude or reward for his good deeds. This can be seen by Homelander and it probably pisses him off knowing Ryan is the world's first real super hero who is better than him. I do think Ryan will one day snap and kill homelander not for himself but for all the people Homelander has hurt in his life. Ryan may not be Butchers blood son but Butcher cares more for him than he cares for himself to the point his willing to sacrifice the opportunity to kill homelander and get his revenge just too save Ryan from becoming a even worse Monster than Homelander.
I do hope that the show pushes for a more optimistic view on the human spirit. That Ryan chooses to be a genuine protector because he understands the duality that people have, that there needs to be someone who stops characters like Homelander
@@ApexGale "If we're ever going to win against monsters, we need to start acting human." That's what Ryan needs to do, be human, be compassionate and caring towards those he knows and doesn't know. Like him feeling absolutely horrible for what he did to the stuntman guy just means he cares about those he meets. That and being human is the only way The Boys are going to win.
This scene shows me why I like butcher so much because even in the last few seasons I thought he was going to be the villain of the series. But I am glad he isn’t because butcher feels like a proper farther to Ryan than homelander. I think butcher just doesn’t want Ryan to be like homelander. Hope Ryan becomes a better hero than his father and I think butcher and his mother would be very proud.
Butcher was raised by an abusive father, and his biggest regret was not being there to save his little brother from him. I think to him, this is a repeat of his childhood. He now has the chance to find some sort of peace with Ryan. I hope he makes the right decisions, as a father.
The more I watch this show the more it really feels like an honest to goodness hero origin story in the form of Ryan. He's learning all of these lessons while dealing with his growing powers.. Real John kent/uncle Ben vibes with this dynamic
While Ryan is Homie’s Biological Father, Billy is the Only Father Figure who understands the Boy perfectly, this also shows how Butcher is telling Ryan the Truth from how he regrets the Things he has Done, how much he took Life for Granted, the Brother and Wife he has Lost, and what a Monster he is and even how he screwed with the Cookie Recipe, we see a Vulnerability and Humanity in Billy that he’s trying to make things Right before he’s Gone and Ryan is the Only Legacy left from Becca and even can relate as he has a Horrible Father, a Great Scene in my Opinion.
I wish the butcher and homelander in the comics got as emotional as they do in the show. While I enjoy the comic story better, the show did a millions times better with the characters.
Billy Butcher’s arc in season 4 really reminds me of Arthur Morgan’s arc during chapter 6 of red dead redemption 2. Both characters don’t have much time left to live and are trying to make amends for their past sins.
If I’m being real I don’t think Butcher is gonna die we don’t really know what the effects of the Temp V are having on him just a guess but his powers may come back and he might get healthy again
0:35 put me in tears. Ryan still has not moved passed the fact that he killed his mother and believes that his existence is burden on others around him. I’m just happy butcher feels that pain because he too hates himself for what he has done. They both need each other❤.
Boys writers. This is what we want. The complex nuance of superheroes would actually be like and an interesting story. Not boring politics, sure politics is world building but after a while it just becomes exhausting.
We are not our failures, We are not who we were. *WE MUST BE BETTER.* - Faye, Guardian of the Giants. Billy trying to do right by those he wronged (and be a better person in general) is one of the best parts of the season so far and I’m excited to see more of it!
I think the real guy who has no business looking after a kid is Homelander cuz butcher just proved that he has way too much potential to be a father although something in him was lost since he lost his loved ones
If they change one vital thing about the comics, it's that they should cure Butcher and let him leave his past behind and put him and Ryan in protective custody somewhere save and in the nature. An ending where he and Ryan are just sitting infront of a little cozy home with a lake infront of it fishing, would be a nice ending. Oh and break up Hughie and Starlight, the chemistry between them is gone anyway.
I can feel a 50/50 here, I feel Ryan and Butcher will reach the point of no return on both sides of the relationship. Theyll both get to a certain level of trust and love as father n son, but somethings gonna tip the scale. Whether its Homelander or Butcher. Or hell, Mallory's gonna fuck it up.
I bet the show will end with Homelander dying and Ryan becoming the superhero his father was supposed to be like: kind, compassionate, true, and stalwart. If he doesn't die or lose his powers that is.
I think the shows going to deviate heavily from the comics drastically, the latter proven that the comics are just spiteful and poorly written distaste for the super hero genre, and the creator was fed up with writing it.
I reaaaally hope this doesn't follow the comics, I do hope butcher actually leaves a positive role model for ryan and ryan becomes the best super hero and not butcher killing ryan.
This show is so much better than the comics. Butcher has an actual character instead of being a trench coat wearing Gary Stu. I resent having to live on the same earth as Garth Ennis.
I hope once season 5 ends that lil Ryan come out on top as the savior and hero this universe been needing for so long. This whole season no supes save anybody 😂😂😂 at least make Ryan the one like neo. And give him his own spinoff 😂
she probably doesn’t know ryan is her nephew. she thought becca was dead for years and it’s likely she didn’t know what homelander did to her unless butcher said something, but even if he did i don’t think that she’d assume homelanders son is her nephew bcuz becca dissapeared like way before the kid was born and i just think she wouldn’t connect the dots rlly or wouldn’t have enough proof to know for sure. but i think even if she did know there isn’t much she could rlly do to get him back, much less even rlly get in contact with him bcuz homelander is like such an openly vile person now and he killed someone for throwing a plastic bottle at his son, imagine if she tried to get custody of ryan, he’d kill her.
@August81804 I know, but would take care of Ryan when William will be dead, she or Homelander? Plus, she tried to find her sister like Billy before to give it up. Don't you think she deserves to know the truth?!
@@carminecioffi9770 oh no she totally deserves to know, and i think it’d be really sweet if she got the chance to meet ryan and take care of him after his mother and her husbands passing. i hope that she gets to meet ryan and learn the truth about her relation to him. i just think at the moment she wouldn’t know and if she did try to get him back at this moment it would be dangerous for her. but hopefully after homelander is gone it’ll be safe for them to be a family again.
it’s his psychotic but biological dad and if Ryan didn’t go to Homelander when Butcher’s there it would be bad if Ryan even refused to go with Homelander things would take a wrong turn. He goes to butcher for humanity and expressing emotion and he just does what his dad says because homelander is getting in his head putting pressure on him

That and being human is the only way The Boys are going to win.
the acting from both sides is superb, the dialogue also.
This kid will have a great future in Hollywood..his acting is top notch. Hope he does well
This scene shows me why I like butcher so much because even in the last few seasons I thought he was going to be the villain of the series.
I felt like butcher is like Arthur Morgan
Fr
Great analogy bruv
Ryan's actor is sooo talented
Being a parent isn't in the DNA, it's in your heart. 👍💖
Billy Butcher’s arc in season 4 really reminds me of Arthur Morgan’s arc during chapter 6 of red dead redemption 2. Both characters don’t have much time left to live and are trying to make amends for their past sins.
Ryan needs to see the plane video or security footage of Homelander deafening Blindsight.
Ryan needs irrevocable proof of Homelander’s evil.
Actually he already saw it remember? The first time Maeve showed that video to Homelander Ryan was there
Or maybe he can hear about how he was conceived…
No, he needs to know the truth about his birth
What if Ryan just watched HL talk to the broken mirror/ parts of him 😵
If I’m being real I don’t think Butcher is gonna die we don’t really know what the effects of the Temp V are having on him just a guess but his powers may come back and he might get healthy again
Nah he takes the real stuff.
2:42 i think Ryan knows he is lying
This might actually be my favorite scene in the whole series
I love how you can see Ryan realizing Butcher is being 100% honest
Watching him dump the cookies was the most cathartic moment in Butchers entire character
Ryan is giving me actual superman vibes. Unlike is father he actually values morality.
This is the moment billy butcher became arthur morgan.
Butcher will always be a better dad to Ryan than his own dad
Cameron Crovetti is such a great actor. I hope he has a bright future.
Poor kid
I wanted butcher to hug him so bad 😭 it would literally fix everything
Ryan is still a kid he shouldn't have to go through this 😢its sad he wants to be love and cant find it
We are not our failures, We are not who we were. *WE MUST BE BETTER.* - Faye, Guardian of the Giants.
Billy trying to do right by those he wronged (and be a better person in general) is one of the best parts of the season so far and I’m excited to see more of it!
I think the real guy who has no business looking after a kid is Homelander cuz butcher just proved that he has way too much potential to be a father although something in him was lost since he lost his loved ones
this is probably one of my favorite scenes so far this season. I wish these two would get a happy ending. unfortunately, butcher will definitely die.
I really don't understand why some people hate Ryan. He's just a kid who's really confused 💔 This is such a wholesome scene
Damn , actor who play Ryan is so good when he emote cry 😊
If they change one vital thing about the comics, it's that they should cure Butcher and let him leave his past behind and put him and Ryan in protective custody somewhere save and in the nature. An ending where he and Ryan are just sitting infront of a little cozy home with a lake infront of it fishing, would be a nice ending. Oh and break up Hughie and Starlight, the chemistry between them is gone anyway.
Nah keep Hughie & Starlight
But you’re right about the Ryan & Butcher part
Nah starlight and hughie is good
I'm glad, I was worried he'd become the next brightburn.
"Because I'm Badman" 😅
Homelander is going to psychologically ruin Ryan and try to groom him to be just like him
I can already see it now I get a feeling next season Butcher is gonna die :(
just think, ryan could have been how homelander would have been IF HE WASN'T RAISED IN A LAB.
No excuses for homelander
This scene made me cry really
Kids a great actor
This scene hits a bit different after episode 4.
1:40 when the brave character says "I scared"
Never felt so much tension over a cookie jar in my entire life.
Great Video
I shed a tear cuz of this scene
connor/flash: i wudnt wana fight me either
ryan/myself: i wudnt want me either
I bet the show will end with Homelander dying and Ryan becoming the superhero his father was supposed to be like: kind, compassionate, true, and stalwart. If he doesn't die or lose his powers that is.
Keep dreaming
What were the cookies laced with
this some real sad shit man
Whats the background music?
If anyone had read the comics, i have an idea of how thigs are going to get, considering that is confirm that the 5th season will be the last.
I think the shows going to deviate heavily from the comics drastically, the latter proven that the comics are just spiteful and poorly written distaste for the super hero genre, and the creator was fed up with writing it.
Might as well forget the comics bud . They’re going a whole different route
I reaaaally hope this doesn't follow the comics, I do hope butcher actually leaves a positive role model for ryan and ryan becomes the best super hero and not butcher killing ryan.
Seems like the ending will probably have Butcher die but leave an optimistic view with Ryan deciding to be a genuine super hero
@@hbjetta i honestly hope so man, i just want a good ending lol
I think hughie and starlight going take ryan after butcher death
This show is so much better than the comics. Butcher has an actual character instead of being a trench coat wearing Gary Stu.
I resent having to live on the same earth as Garth Ennis.
2:35 Karl Urban is the best 🤣
Deep!
😢😢😢😢
I hope once season 5 ends that lil Ryan come out on top as the savior and hero this universe been needing for so long. This whole season no supes save anybody 😂😂😂 at least make Ryan the one like neo. And give him his own spinoff 😂
Where's Rachel, where's Ryan's aunt?
I doubt she will show up till season 5
@@gnm7858 Better she appears
she probably doesn’t know ryan is her nephew. she thought becca was dead for years and it’s likely she didn’t know what homelander did to her unless butcher said something, but even if he did i don’t think that she’d assume homelanders son is her nephew bcuz becca dissapeared like way before the kid was born and i just think she wouldn’t connect the dots rlly or wouldn’t have enough proof to know for sure. but i think even if she did know there isn’t much she could rlly do to get him back, much less even rlly get in contact with him bcuz homelander is like such an openly vile person now and he killed someone for throwing a plastic bottle at his son, imagine if she tried to get custody of ryan, he’d kill her.
How can't ryan tell the difference between butcher and homelander and always goes back to the same person who obviously lack shoving love
it’s his psychotic but biological dad and if Ryan didn’t go to Homelander when Butcher’s there it would be bad if Ryan even refused to go with Homelander things would take a wrong turn. He goes to butcher for humanity and expressing emotion and he just does what his dad says because homelander is getting in his head putting pressure on him
