I love your guys way of life! It’s amazing starting from dirt to now amazing home. Definitely got my itching to purchase some land for first plans. I’ve never built A house but I have flipped our first house and now remodeling our 2nd house now lol. Good luck in the rest of the projects.
Awesome humor 😄 Don't forget to put GFCI any plugs around your sink. You can always Daisy chain to the same GFCI. Meaning your home run goes in to the GFCI on the line side and the load out to other receptacles in the kitchen. Except a dedicated circuit to the refrigerator and other outlets where you might use an oven or microwave.
Your video’s are so relaxing watching you have so much fun working together. The family room is going to be really nice with electric outlets, & new Sheetrock walls. Love you guys, be safe, stay healthy, God Bless everyone.
You will notice a big difference with your heat and cooling once the drywall is done. I did the same on my cabin and increased the heat retention from my wood stove and the single unit cooling worked so much better. Jeremy a mouse l jumped when a spider landed on my neck so even big guys get scared 😂😂 . You both are awesome 👍❤️🤗
The hemlock was Pretty but the Dry Wall will be better in the end. Plus is , that it don't shrink and when painted if you change the room decor you can change the color of the Walls.
I saw a drywall knife ad on facebook that my wife got me for Christmas. It has a tape measure device attached to the knife. The night thing about this tool is if you have a piece say 9 inches wide you use the tape measure to measure the width of the void you are trying to cut and fit a piece into and you lock the tape measure . Then you take the tape measure and butt up the end of the tape measure against the edge of the drywall piece you want to cut from and guide the device down the drywall piece as the knife scores the drywall and it should fit perfectly in place
I think what you guys are doing is very cool. The old farmhouse I grew up in was built in 1880....never had electric wiring. I was told it was wired in the 1930s, I grew up there in the 60s and 70s and it only had 1 outlet per room, a pull chain ceiling light in some rooms. So they had to install wiring in an old plaster and lathe building back in the 1930s. Wiring was run up to the attic for the 2nd floor, and single drops down to each room, again 1 outlet and maybe a ceiling light. Good work guys, love watching your progress!
A suggestion Jeremy and Ashley, while you have the walls open, put an outside plug on both sides of the house. If you have one on the west wall, put one on the east wall, that way you do not have to run extension cords all the way around the house just to do a little electric required job on the side that has no plug. cheers.
It's going to look good when it's done and then y'all can relax after all that's done in the house and then start on your garage so stay safe stay warm be careful out there and be true to yourself and God bless you for sharing these wonderful videos when it's all done out there it's going to look beautiful so thanks for bringing us along with you thank you very much bless you 💖💖💖😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇
Morning, the drywall or as we call it sheetrock isn't so bad until the mudding and sanding to smooth it down I liked the joke that makes for a happy marriage!
I am laughing my head off on your opening on the old couple joke killer job you guys make my day. Your interior will be killer when finished, i have been married 42 yrs in 2021 Thks Guys.
Glad I put heaters in the bathroom, sure feels great getting out of the shower, nice and warm! Just curious, in Canada are you required to have AFCI in the living areas?
Things are flying along. A suggestion, check the cable splice using the TV and mark where it is before drywalling it in. Those connections/splice have a habit of coming loose. Cheers.
Hope your planning on at least installing a blank plate with an access to that cable splice. Never bury splices, cable, phone and especially electrical. Use a double gang blank on a mud ring for accessing that connection later and try to leave slack. Unless it’s a threaded connector splice that you can crank down on to tighten it, simple room vibration from the television itself or stereo speakers can cause the push together type to get loose. I know how crazy that sounds but believe me I’ve been on many service calls where that was the problem. (Loose connections) If you never need to touch them again then that’s a good thing, the blank plate can be covered with decor or a clock but having that access will save your sanity. I was in the electrical then cable industry long before then into two way data, so I’ve heard and seen many nightmares regarding wiring. Looking forward to seeing that room rocked! * wherever the cable goes through the studs you may want to put a plate over it. Then when you go to run a screw or bang in a nail to hang something and hit a plate you’ll know to stop and relocate... 😉✌🏼
@@todddebockler7786 Yup , we said it on our channel last spring I believe. I first hear Eddie Murphy tell that joke in Delirious :) ....The bear wipes his butt with the rabbit ;) :) haha :)
Question. Why do you have 2 rg-6 cable lines? On my satellite I only have 1 cable line. I'm glad you took the time to run switches and plugs in your home. I bet once you get the make over is done you Will have awesome home.
Shaw uses a couple of different satellites they point at so you need two lines to get all the channels. We are looking forward to it all coming together :)
What about a ceiling fan, since your boxing in wires? With all that heat up high in the ceiling from the wood stove having some thing quiet to move it around?
When you start hanging your drywall make sure that you only use 1-1/4" screws so that you don't go through your newly installed electric and cable wires.
🐭too funny watching you jump. You kids are doing great. I can promise you that you’ll never not have mice living in the country. I remember seeing a device that you can plug in that emits an ultrasonic sound that is supposed to help repell them. I can’t recall the name but maybe someone will remember it. Good luck with the project. Looking forward to your next video. Be well.
@@MBFModernHomesteading Good luck with the drywall. I’m the absolute worst at muding and taping ( on purpose ) , my wife is the best. I hang it she does the rest. It’s a good gig if you can get it hahaha. Stay safe you guys and be well.
I'm going to add this one in because I thought it was funny as heck......did you hear about the chameleon that had trouble changing colors? apparently he had a reptile dysfunction.
I disagree totally because I used 12 ft sheets and only used one helper to load sheets the rest I did alone.. Less butt joints and easy to move sheet around into place...

Best of luck with the drywall. Hanging it isn't too bad, I hate the mud and sanding. The house is looking great! Looking forward to the next one.
Lots of energy you two! Drywall delivery was very quick! Anxious to see the kitchen build!
Coming along, awesome! Lots of advice about your dry wall... If you hang horizontally and use an adhesive will cut down on screws

Lol 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🏆🏆🏆🏆 nice one ..... Good morning Ashley, Jeremy and Sam 😁🏆 I Love all you Do 😁☕☕
Glad you’re getting those nails out of the way. I’m sure it is a tedious job though. Well done, Ashley! Good video as usual. Thank you!
You’re such hard workers and you do a nice variety of things on your vlog. Keep up the good work!
Its gonna look awesome guys
Nice to see things coming along. Keep at it. It’s worth it.
What i remember from what little drywalling I did was that stuff was heavy and the tireder you got the heavier the drywall got.
Another enjoyable video Regards from Scotland
You guys are doing a great job.
Kudos to you. I absolutely detest putting up drywall. Even if I only had 3 sheets to hang, I would hire someone.
Great video
You kids stay safe and we will see you on the next one. Later!

I'd be interested to see the setup right from the solar panels and find out how that's set up. If the batteries are run in series or parallel.

We actually did that very thing in case it ever happened :)
Conduit. Large plastic conduit. AV cables do not fare well in walls.
A big X on the drywall
Awesome video really enjoying

hey moe some one put wires in these pipes 3 stooge clip be nice lol how you like the folding ladder they heavy

Yes.

That is what we originally had up there and may do the same again, it is nice :)

Rent a drywall jack if needed, it is going to look great
Good
Hey J&A, Jesse here, The walls are looking great. Glad to see Jeremy is only human. Most humans don’t like mice. Even a bear would jump.
haha, thanks :)
Mice and snakes, why do they make us jump like that! Still scatching my head as to how a mouse could have got in a that location?
Through the attic, those little stinkers can fit through anything haha.
there is an insulation you can get that meese wont get into it repells them and insects...but since ya gtter done already ...kinda late
Any video of the friend/electrician nearly coming through the ceiling 😁
I wish lol
I could buy a utility knife everyday of the week and still wouldn’t be able to find one when I need it!lol,

👍🦅
Why do drywall when you have the wood? I kind of like the look of the wood.
The wood is going in the garage.
Ashley, if you want a washer that really cleans your clothes, go with an older model with the agitator in the middle.
Yes, always start of with a knob gag for squits & giggles. 🤪🤪🤪😍😷😎🤓🇬🇧🏴
Make sure you mark where your wires are or you will hit them with drywall screws. I did
Wish you would wear even light gloves while working with those brad nails which some could be sharp.
I'm going to add this one in because I thought it was funny as heck......did you hear about the chameleon that had trouble changing colors? apparently he had a reptile dysfunction.
haha
Rent or buy a drywall lift. You will be happy you did, trust me. If you buy one, sell it when you're finished.
If we were doing the ceilings then we may, but lifting on the walls is pretty easy.
With a couple hundred pesos a Sheetrock hoist helps hanging drywall a little less stressful??
For ceilings it helps for sure.

The trick of hanging drywall is to not do it
