Igiul wasted no time letting us know he was a serious threat, from killing Mario multiple times with no effort to his theme being the legendary Through the Fire and Flames. What a great villain! Also I had no idea that random rooftop garden scene was inspired by Super Mario Kindergarten! I remember that series, it’s so nostalgic.
Agreed. It's honestly interesting how obvious the power tierings are with the old dopples if you think about it. Oiram was too incompetent to defeat Mario at all without training, and even that got undone. In this series, he was the first to get killed in the final slugfest. Igiul murdered Mario multiple times over without a sweat, but was still a joke to Luigi. OO not only murdered Mario and held a dangerous reputation, but also had all the good guys on the ropes for a long time.
@@InfernoCleric384 When you think about it, it kinda makes sense for Oiram to have a large losing record and for Igiul to be a bigger threat. They are the opposite of Mario and Luigi in nearly every way. Mario is brave, humble and can overcome most challenges on his own, Luigi is gentler and often relies on Mario and others despite being more than capable on his own. Oiram however is prideful and talks a big game but can’t back it up unless he puts in the effort, and Igiul is deadly serious, is great at manipulation, and wastes no time taking out his targets.
@@GatorOne-in7hk Great analysis. Also, I feel like the Oiram Bros are both similar to and dissimilar to their counterparts. Oiram has the confidence of Mario but not the heroics and winning streak. All he has over his brother is his intellect, which is probably the only reason he's the leader. He's basically Vegeta (Quick, someone make an edit of him doing the thumb pose). Igiul is subservient to his brother, like Luigi. However, Igiul, unlike his counterpart, is obviously the more competent one. Imagine how the other counterparts differ from the main characters. Imagine: -Morally gray Oiraw Bros -Quario being like an older, more mature Sonic I think Death Trapper Chronicles explored those ideas a lot.
