It might have been treatable for Dr Lee. But she rightly has to be as near 100% confident of performing a successful operation as she can be. She decided in that instance she may not have been and rightly found an alternative surgeon.
She would potentially lose her ability to practice medicine if she practiced beyond the scope of her license. That would be reportable to her state licensing board and is potentially a suspension or revocation offense, depending on why it was reported (such as patient death resulting from negligence).

He's such a handsome young man. He seems like such a sweet and gentle soul. I am so happy for him and I pray the blessings keep overflowing for him. He deserves this kind of peace.
He is such a sweetheart. The pain must have been terrible, and although he looked miserable before it was removed, he did not complain. It's really good to see him smile, in the end, and Dr. Lee helped put him in touch with someone who could cure him. They took his disability away, as I'm sure that lump was bringing his life to a complete stand still.

ieatpokepuffs No, they are lacking empathy, the thing that differentiates us from other mammals. They are lacking the capability to feel for another human they've never met. I feel bad for them.
She's so sweet and kind to him. Just having someone treat you with that much compassion can be life changing, especially for someone suffering from low self esteem.
This case in particular really broke my heart. You can see that he's suffering from depression as a result of the lymphangioma. The pain in his eyes when he returned for the second time was just so sad to witness. God bless people like Dr. Lee who are willing to help people who wouldn't be able to afford such a specialized treatment on their own. A man of his age deserves to enjoy his youth without the pain and embarrassment of such a noticeable condition.
The worst pain is losing your self confidence. It's like a self created prison. This removal will hopefully not only help him heal physically but also mentally. God Bless him!
Dr. Lee is no only beautiful on the outside, she's beautiful on the inside as well. She is very concerned, and compassionate towards her patients. I think this separates her from a lot of other doctors. God bless you Dr Lee!

Dr Lee couldnt remove it ,but she didnt stop at that and send him away, she went above& beyond her responsibility and realized he needed help, and she found a specialist to remove it for him..She didnt have to do that but thats just how she rolls!! She is truly incredible ❣️
She’s an amazing doctor. She took the time to find specialists to do it for free. Don’t see that too often it’s very touching how she changed this man’s life.
sh*t, I am lucky if my GP to lays hands on me or any patient! He orders tests, he prescribes the hell out of useless meds or refers people to other doctors, but he hardly touches his own patients and he certainly does NO treating of anything! I am so trying to replace him with an old fashioned doctor, one that is not afraid to take a simple small cyst off someone's back or something like that.
@Rosey Annette - I hope you'll find a good doctor. He's just a super-tech. All the unnecessary tests and drugs that have really bad side effects are probably making you feel worse. Has he giving you a diagnosis? Is your health insurance paying for unnecessary tests, referrals, meds? This may constitute fraud. Personally, I'd search online and UA-cam for the disease, symptoms, at least I'd be better informed. Praying for guidance and to send you the right people to your life will help a lot. Best wishes.
@@roseyannette2030 definitely time for a new doctor. This one isn’t working out for you. It can take time to find the right one but keep looking and you will as I did. Goodluck!

This is a very sincere post but when referring to black people PLEASE don't call us well mannered. It sounds like when white people used to call us boy and that sounds like you're referring to a child. Just keep that in mind 😌
Poor guy. It mentally distressed him, can't imagine the social anxiety he dealt with. Yet even with it, he powered through and continued to workout and to better himself. Hope he is doing better, and that he achieved his goal of becoming a physical trainer.
I admire the people who don't give up, he had his challenges and dreams. He took care of the medical issue, had thd luck to get treated with profesional and compasionate people and move on to pursue his dream career. I wish him all the best!
You can hear in her voice how much she cares about him and this situation, when he talks after the surgery about still being worried it might come back she chokes up a little when she responds. She’s truly one of the kindest and most caring people.
This is one of many reasons why America needs healthcare for everyone. This young man wanted badly to participate in life: to work, to socialize, to achieve things, and this huge physical problem stood in his way. He couldn’t even get diagnosed, let alone get surgery. And while his particular physical situation is unique, the financial/social situation is not. Sick people who are poor just stay sick. The only reason he was able to get care was that he was chosen for this show. I’m overjoyed for him and I love the doctor, it’s not a statement on her, but on the fact that you shouldn’t have to get on reality TV in order to get necessary life changing medical treatment. He can live a far more productive life and be self sufficient now that he’s received help. I’m so happy for him.
I"m really happy he finally a great result. Dr Lee is wonderful and so is the anonymous surgeon . I don't live in the U. S so can someone give me an idea how much it would cost to have this type of surgery? Also some of the people Dr Lee treats have relatively small skin problems, bumps etc. Are they very expensive to be dealt with too? Thanks
Miss Bingley So every surgery is different but I’m disabled and I’ve had 7. I can tell you that the cash (non-insured) cost of a surgery like this would be over $100,000. Small bumps and things would be cheaper but just an office visit for a consultation alone, the cash cost of that billed to insurance is usually a couple hundred dollars for a specialist. With insurance if it’s approved you pay a co-pay, but those costs vary wildly. I had a surgery last year, I did have insurance, Medicare, and it still cost me about $10,000, which was only 20% of the total cost.
@@lauralouwhooo Thanks for your comprehensive reply. I live in the UK and whilst it's not perfect it always gets me when I watch Dr Lee that particularly the people with bigger problems would be treated here for free no questions asked. The smaller problems may face a bit of a wait but still get treated. Some issues are considered cosmetic, I had a varicose vein lasered last year and that cost me £1500 about $3000 perhaps. Every country is different and all have drawbacks. It just upsets me to see people having to go to reality TV to get their upsetting problem resolved. Stay safe every one. Sending love from England.

This man looked so sad when he came in but now dr lee helps him out and now he’s smiling, laughing and just having a great time. Dr Lee started popping pimples now she’s improving people’s lives
She knew that he needed another kind of specialist to get rid of it for ever, she is a skin doctor, this was not a skin problem. Good doctor recognized that and will send you to the right doctor for the right problem. But the fact that in the for profit American healthcare system she was able to find him a team that would do it for free, that is dedication on her part and very generous of the specialized team that took care of him.
I can see how she gets experts and surgeons to help her with cases out of her scope. She is so caring, loving and humble. She's absolutely precious and she shines. Also, she gets emotionally attached to her patients. She touches them (other than than the exam). A lot of these problems look horrid, so you know nobody is touching them. And she hugs them. Beautiful!
Yes. There is something called therapeutic touch. We are social animals. Being around people, everyday hugs and handshakes and pats on the back, rubs, touches are something we need as humans. Its literally good for our mental health. In times like now with the virus pandemic we are 100% no touching, not standing near other people and generally avoiding people all together all the time. It is taking a toll on many. Side note...my mom was a nurse in the 80s and 90s when the AIDS diagnosis was a death sentence. She said that no one wanted to touch those patients. Not doctors or nurses, aides or orderlys. They dealt with them quickly and left the room. She was the last face many of them saw. She would bathe them, the act of bathing with the touching, the warm water, the gentle stimulation from rubbing and then rubbing lotion on after always lifted thier spirits if only for a short time. She held many hands as those men died and cried many tears. She rarely talks about that part of her career bcuz it is still painful all these years later. She lost 2 very close friends. By the time they were diagnosed they were already ill and dead within months. She's very empathic. I want her to tell her stories and let me write it all down, write a book about it. Many people do not realize just how horrible those times were but also that there were people like her, who treated those men with kindness and care up to the very end. But she wont, I understand but maybe one day...💜
Just watched this episode on TV and I'm soooooo happy for him. His life will change so much. Kudos to the team and their efforts to help thus young man. Great 👍 job!

It is good that a doctor helps somebody for free, but the whole concept of “giving back” is troubling. Being expected to “give back” implies that you stole something that wasn’t yours. I will give, but will not accept that I should “give back”. An honest doctor does not take, so they should not be expected to “give back”.

Just reading that made me shed a tear

Beautiful!
That’s a lovely comment you posted. We need more people like you in the world.

It is good that a doctor helps somebody for free, but the whole concept of “giving back” is troubling. Being expected to “give back” implies that you stole something that wasn’t yours.
