I know it’s been a down year for hip hop but honestly you can argue we’re in a golden era or like a renaissance or something for underground rap. I personally never lived through a time when there was this much output of extremely great rapping. Lol facts then he can go round the country doing speaking engagements at corporate events 😂
I know I’m late but I found ransom this year through listening to cravens collabs with boldly James and I mean he has become my favorite artist. It’s is nice to see support for him.❤
ransom is still hasn't missed on a verse, guy is different, craven is shaping out to be one of the best active producers as well, fire project as expected out of these two
Tan is one of them one Fasho! Him and craven talented in the own rights but their chemistry together is close to perfect. They styles just mesh extremely well
My new favourite reactor. Wish I could have friends like this guy in real life 😮 nobody gets this deep !!!! Love every second, you know your shit bro 🤌🏽🤌🏽❤️
Ayyyy I appreciate that!! Yo I think a lot of us in the same boat. We love rap but not too many to share that interest with - that's why I really appreciate the community thats kinda developed with the channel! Yoooooo B what it is!!! What lease is there to say, Ran does the most with the least words. I believe this is what makes him the best lyricist. He doesn’t beat you in the head with a bunch of words we’ve never heard of say things just for the sake of rhyming. I’m my mind this is what separates him from every other MC. The depth is so vivid you can slice it. Like you said his self help book would be crazy. BTW that kat spazzing on that freestyle was old Ransom. Check the old Clue tapes/A-Team mixtapes. Still lyrical Ran just super street with it. Telling you now his mixtapes are unmatched (that’s right Lil Wayne fans). Anyway Peace and love to the worlds greatest B-Side.🫡👊🏿 BTW, I still have DC4 as top dog. Possibly if this wasn’t just four tracks and a remix because like you said Ran spazzed. DC4 was just a different beast though. I didn’t think I would like anything more than DC3 but his rhyming on DC4 went somewhere else. I’m still catching lines. Regardless it’s all lov
I rock with DC4 but the more I listen, the more I think American Made and Arrival woulda been the best songs on DC4...they don't necessarily fit the theme of DC4 but at the very least they'd both be 2 of the best 4/5. And preciate that!
@@BSideRapReviews I feel you, but it's something about Rise Of The Machines, War Dog's & Freedom that's doing it for me though. But, I'll definitely give you American Made fo sho fam!💪🏾💯
That can’t be Sean P - his voice distinct af I think I woulda picked up on that instantly. Folks saying that’s a young ransom which make since cus he said “Ran” multiple times in the freestyle.
You are right dude. I thought it really sounded like Sean P freestyling. Ran talks about him on some of his tracks so it only made sense for me to think it was him. @@BSideRapReviews
Same bro. Yeah I don’t even mind the bars. It I think the beat on the original is clearly better than this version. I guess Ran viewed it as like a bonus track
Preciate you bro!! Thanks for that subscribe too. Yeah man, I fell in love with hip hop as a kid and just tryna pass on some of the intricacies I enjoy about it ✊🏾
The only bad thing of these projects is that they never get passed a certain level. Maybe he needs a different type of producer that will learn him to be less monotone.
Yeah that’s honestly a issue with most guys in this east coast, 90s inspired, mafioso lane. Great spitters but since they have very little son structure it can get repetitive, and even tho Ransom might be the best bar for bar in this lane - he’s held back because he doesn’t have the best ear for beats. If I think of the best albums. If I think of the best 2 albums in the space - Piñata by Freddie Gibbs and The GAT by Mach, both those albums have 10/10 production and the production is very dynamic on top of how well they rapped on it. Production on this album was good but it’s more around a 7.75/10 imo. I think ran’s best project is chaos is my ladder in large part cus of the production. I would love to hear him do a tape with Futurewave, dj muggs, or alchemist
I actually rocked with DC4 just not as much as like DC3 which was best in the series…maybe not even 2…but this joint is easily better imo. I much prefer this content from Ransom - he’s just way better at telling those hood stories and dropping gems than dropping social commentsry
This is my first introduction to ransom thanks to you , but i absolutely loved him and your reaction and breakdowns , what would u suggest as his best album? Awesome vid btw ty for the great content ❤
His tape with V Don had sick drums and that’s prob a big reason why it’s his best project. Will say tho - I think some rappers do the drumless sound extremely well but i think Ran just doesn’t have the best ear for beats unfortunately. Like even from craven, his songs Power Nap and You Ain’t No Menace from his project with Boldy James last year were incredible imo and didn’t have any drums.
I personally don’t love his choruses but I 100% see why you say that. With pretty much every random chorus, you gonna get at least one fire bar but I put that more on him just being a phenomenal writer. When I think of best choruses in this lane of hip hop- I think of guys who are a little more dynamic with their delivery like say Westside Gunn, stove god cooks, even a Mach Hommy. But I Fasho see the argument 💯
@@BSideRapReviews not all of them hit but he makes it work out because there's a message that's why I respect his choruses more, that overnight success hook is a slogan for me now
Love Nicholas Craven but gotta admit all his Ransom beats sounds the same. I cant differentiate one title from the other. Time for Ran to deal with a different beat maker.
I’m with you - I think it has more to do with ransom’s beat selection cus I don’t think Craven’s beats in general sound the same. Def same style but for example the tape he did with Boldy doesn’t sound like his stuff with ransom. I do prefer when Ran works with Craven tho because craven’s better than those Trust in house producers by a long shot. I personally think he should do some work with conductor Williams. I could see that being an amazing pairing
0:54 into the video and my face isn't ready for the stank faces I'm about to make thru this whole video! I haven't finished directors cut 4 yet due to me replaying every fire bar on there! salute b 🫡

American Made is a top 10 Ransom song, elite hip hop !
I can’t even disagree with you bro - I’d have trouble naming 10 songs better!
5:34 yeah that was Ransom 17-20 years ago. He's been a menace since day one 😂
Bruh why he sound older then than he do now 😂😂 bruh been had it tho
@@BSideRapReviewsI think he just changed his tone a lil bit, becoming more relaxed over the beats. He used to be more aggressive back then
@@Fuku-kujuthat’s a old ransom song from when he was in his 20s .. I know cus I been listening to him that long

Ransom and Craven make beautiful fucking music! All their music together is by far tbe best work for them both! Ransom is a an absolute beast.
