Total amount spent on practice for this challenge: A lot. Just a lot.
This past month I embarked on a 30 day fitness challenge. I followed a strict workout plan and a diet. I say it in the video, but I’ll say it again. The biggest transformation for me this month was not my body, but rather my mindset to fitness. It’s been interesting to see that my approach to fitness and health habits has taken a turn - I’m not focused on how I “appear” but rather on how “strong” I could be. Here’s to more fitness challenges, and a healthier mind and body!

I'm so surprised to see such an accurate approach to this.
    Cal. Deficit for weight loss.
    Cal. Surplus for gains.
Focusing on weights for better gains as opposed to doing 20+ reps of the same weight.
You had an amazing start at your fitness journey. Most people forever stay stuck because of misguided workouts. All you need to do now is be consistent over the years.
    This a bombass vid ❤️

I'm a month into weightlifting seriously for the first time, and I agree with a lot of your experiences. Adjusting calories has been tough and ultimately rewarding, and it feels good to know that my lifting is paying off and I'm building muscle. When you said, "I don't wanna look better, I wanna get stronger," it reminded me of the reason I'm doing this and I think I'll have a better focus on my goals moving forward. Great vid.

Amazing video! Was scared he was just going to do machines but luckily he did callisthenic and a recomp which for beginner(gainz) are way more effective for everyday life as you said in the video. Like pulling yourself up, pushing yourself up , lifting weird objects/carrying them apposed to 'doing a military's press with 50kg' which only trains very specific muscles and movements!! Great stuff again :D

This is really neat. I like how by the end your goal was more of to get stronger rather than to look different. I’ve been wondering - if you workout regularly but you don’t change your diet, would that do anything? Is it worth it to even workout if you don’t eat right? I eat an average American diet, and I don’t really care to change it, but I also have been trying to workout because I find it to be fun.

Love the video Kize! Please never eat below BMR again!!! This is super unhealthy and what you felt before caloric surplus in the last week shows exactly that. I know it's been a year so hopefully, you found someone with better knowledge to train you or found the knowledge personally. At the minimum eat 200 calories above BMR. Unless you're doing a bodybuilding show you don't need to go lower. The cardio that you do throughout the week will still create a caloric deficit.
Best of luck in continuing your fitness journey!! :D

Up the challenge: 7 seconds down... and 7 Seconds up. Maintain the same speed throughout the entire exercise. By slowing them down... you cant cheat by using Momentum, or other body movements.
Also.. the muscles are active for a long longer along that entire pathway... which will make you FAR stronger alone that entire pathway. This is one of the key secrets behind arts like Tai Chi. Stronger development, and a Surgical level of Precision and Control.

Its not just about the calories. Its also about Nutrients. For your body to both Heal And Grow Muscles... it needs the proper building blocks. This means more Calcium (almond milk is great), Proteins, minerals, and vitamins. I often recommend gummy multivitamins, as they absorb much better than pill format.
Additionally... even a very small amount of new muscle growth, will consume more calories every hour... even if they are not actively doing work. As such, whatever fat you might have.. might just be easily consumed by the body turning them into the needed caloric fuel to drive these muscles.
Also... even when eating Healthy... you dont have to Sacrifice TASTE !!! If you are cooking chicken, and only have salt and pepper at most on it... then you need to open up a cooking book, and learn how to season with other spices. Add some Rosemary, Thyme, Garlic Powder, and Red Pepper flakes, (and salt) ..for example. The calories of spices, are not going to be significant.
Just try to stay away from high fatty ingredients, such as Salad Dressings. A single spoon worth of them, tends to undo all of the benefits you are working for. For a healthy dressing... try mixing Balsamic Vinegar (much sweeter taste than standard vinegar), with some Soysauce (more vin, less soy). You could add some Italian spices in there too. No need for a fatty / oil base... nor any man-made chemical crud. The taste of those two ingredients alone... is magical. It also seems to stick much better to salad than you might expect... even without an Oil base.
I will also say, that you should stay far away from Carbs / Wheat / Sugars. These will just make you more hungry, and wont give you lasting energy.. nor nutrient value. In fact, it could cause a reduction in your nutrient absorption.
Instead of snacking with the usual garbage... simply go into the fridge and grab a few slices of ham/turkey/roast beef...etc. This will satisfy you quicker, 10x longer... and you will have FAR more energy to boot.
Natural Fats, can be perfectly healthy for you... such as those that come from a nice medium rare, reverse seared, steak. Try to avoid any man altered fats/oils, that are Hydrogenated. That stuff will stick to your internals like Glue... and its 10x harder to get rid of it.
    Suffering from Horrible workout pains?
Grab a cheap box of Baking Soda. Run a hot bath, and pour a standard small box worth into the tub. Soak for 30min to an hour. I believe it absorbs the lactic acid from your system. However it works.. it just does. It worked far more powerfully than Epson Salt.. and is MUCH MUCH cheaper!
If you want something a bit more extreme.. you can squeeze some muscle pain cream into the tub. (Menthol based) However... you have to be really careful on how much you use... or it could burn your sensitive areas way too harshly... if you know what I mean. Also.. this will make a powerful cooling effect... even if you are in very hot water... so make sure that water is plenty hot.
    Extreme Pains and Injuries?
Get a Russian Stim / High quality Tens Machine. These deliver a very mild electronic shock pulse.
You can control the level of intensity and duration with the good ones. A 15 min session, can cause your pains to vanish, and your injures can heal in a single day... instead of a weeks worth of time.
Of course.. get plenty of Quality, Deep, Sleep. I believe that your body heals best, in the Delta frequency state. If there was a bunch of noises when you were sleeping.. that could prevent you from getting to a Delta level of rest and healing.
And finally... I recommend taking up Martial Arts. Not only will you add to your fitness routines.. but you will also gain even more bodily functionality. Its also very challenging and yet, very fun.

I don’t understand, if you are working out why would you go below your BMR, that’s never recommended by any sane dietitian. If you at the very least ate at your bmr and work out you’d burn down to a deficit

  • @JacobStoneFilms
    @JacobStoneFilms 2 роки тому +2

Just curious why he was having you eat below your BMR? BMR is the calories you burn if you laid in bed all day so you need at least that amount to function. At least that’s what I’ve been told. Maybe I’m wrong. I’m not a fitness professional or dietitian.
