The green juice one was funny and clearly that guy was searching for anything to keep busy but in general the drink one is good and has some additional evidence based in the monopoly study. In a study where they rigged the game in favor of one person without telling either participant who would automatically win to test if the winner would attribute their win to luck or skill (spoiler all winners attributed their victory to personal decision making and not luck 😂) but one interesting side finding was that while winning people would showcase dominant behavior with the researchers leaving a bowl of pretzels out (one pairing even surmised correctly that the bowl put there for some reason but know exactly why). Winners would behave more dominantly throughout the game, making themselves bigger AND consuming the pretzels as both a subconscious primitive form of dominance by consumption (money accumulation is a form of consumption like eating in the wild) where losers would never feel comfortable eating any pretzels while losing. I would guess that consuming food or a drink while in a hand would suggest they are not nervous (nervous people don’t consume calories as their body teeming with stress hormones) whereas the relaxed person is quenching every need with no worries in the world and consumes more resources much like the rich in their daily behavior.

in my experience the sip at the bottle is almost always a bluff (i've used it a couple of times)! I think it's an attempt of seeming calm, but also, when someone's under stress his mouth dries and needs inconsciously more watering. Negreanu also says the same in his masterclass. But whatever ;)

One of my home game mates lemme know of an involuntary tell. He told me he could tell I was bluffing because my face would get flush. I went to reddit for ideas on how to counter this besides just hiding my face. I was suggested to try changing my thoughts in this spot, so now bluffing instead of screaming in my head "please fold please fold" it's now "please call please call" and for my value jams it's "please fold please fold." It's been working, and now in these spots the adjustments have habitually become looking super uncomfortable with the really good hand and looking calm and confident when bluffing.

    Here are a couple more
    1. Staring at your chips, or even looking at them briefly. When someone has a big hand and they're contemplating how much money they stand to gain they need to examine your stack to determine a bet size. So if at any point in time the pot is growing whether you're betting or your opponent is, look at them and see if he's glancing at your chips.
    2. The stare down - this is usually a sign of pretty decent strength, but not necessarily the nuts like staring at your stack. The players staring at you because he's intensely focused trying to determine if you'll call. This doesn't necessarily mean that he's bluffing, but it does mean that he's highly invested in the hand and it's usually because he has a strong one himself any just can't help but observe you to see what he thinks you're going to do. You see the irony of the scenario is that you are doing the same thing, you are also invested in the hand and so you're glancing at him is similar to why he would glance at you. This is sometimes applicable in a pure bluff when a player is so fixated on you they just want to get the bad or good news when you ultimately fold or call. When bluffing though they will often quickly look away because making eye contact will immediately create tension and make them nervous thus appearing weak, and they won't want to give off such a tell But I'll also see players do this with big semi-bluffs for the same reason. Typically they won't do this with the absolute nuts because they are no longer concerned with your reaction since they obviously have the hand locked up.

here's a better video idea, edit together 20 live stream hands (really you'd probably need 1000 to prove anything) where there's a decent amount of physical movement or talking on the river or after all in, then have Fedor watch them with hole cards covered, then have him share what he thinks about what someone's acting or talking means, and then see results. Its easy to sit here looking at the hole cards of someone bluffing and saying "oh see the way he scratches his nose like that, obviously uncomfortable" then in the next hand the guy has the stone nuts and does the exact same thing lmao

With good players I wouldn’t of see it this way but given the situation I felt he wasn’t faking that he missed the flop. So I stole like 5 pots from him. The other guy would try to fake it weak when strong and strong when weak. He hated that I would fold on his good hands and put draw him on his medium hands LOL. Maybe you're not a winning player then I've been playing 30 years live and you can spot a lot of tells when you play live and like fedor holtz says here most of the time they are correct there is no results oriented blah blah blah people usually do the opposite of what they want you to believe and if you remember that..you can win a lot of extra money

@@SoulfightPoker that's the beautiful thing about playing live maybe you're just not good at reading people but by trying to engage them and watching them when you have a big decision after they bet you can gain a lot of information that you yourself don't give them it's just another edge playing live
