The investor class. People's homes are an important asset. They'll keep it empty (or rent it) for a few years and sell it later for a nice profit. It's like crypto. The migrants play two roles here: cheaper labor and also a pressure on housing prices. Knowing who benefits from increased migration also clarifies why all parties are for it.

You are incorrect. Typical blinded Canadian response. Canada is in the top three countries for housing costs. Your stupid thinking is why Canada only gets worse.
So misleading! Why not also point out the income of the immigrants that are leaving and those that stay. The ones that are leaving are the one that actually contribute to our economy/society who can afford to simply pack up and leave. The ones who stay are using Canadas social systems without contributing enough to compensate their usage of taxpayer resources. By stats Canadas own data they use no less than 4 social services to get by (which does not include healthcare or education resources).
Which social services? In fact can you provide a source that the ones leaving are those who are well off because the report this is based on does not mention any of that.
Thats exactly right. Brain drain causing a death spiral in poor services and tax base. Canada is definitely attempting a quantity over quality strategy, which will have predictable results.
Stats Canada hasn't been properly updated since 2016/2021 It says 2023 but then you click on population of a town and you can see the stats used from that town (not all but some) come from stats in 2016.(which were added to the 2021 stats) For example many towns in BC have not done a census since 2016. So stats Canada still uses those stats to update the Canadian stats. The ones that can afford to leave probably have not been able to find a job reflecting their skill set so a doctor or teacher doesn't exactly want to work in a grocery store or as a carpenter. And at a certain age or with the years experience they have they don't exactly want to get into debt going back to 4 or 5 years of school. Or even 2 years of school, why should they when their credentials get recognized easily elsewhere.

And the image they are fed of widespread prosperity and wealth is shattered, after they realize everyone is just in debt
This is not a bad thing, I miss the Canada of 10 years ago. It is unrealistic for immigrants to think that they can take a job away from a Canadian citizen. Ask yourself, as a Canadian in a foreign country, would I be treated as well as they are in Canada. In most cases, no.

You dont say? Ive spent my entire adult life helping build homes in cities that I cant afford to live in... 🤷🏽♂️ Its probably akin rocket science though
The immigration Ponzi scheme lures migrants to Canada without enough affordable housing to accommodate them. This drives up housing costs for Canadians already here. At the same time, the flood of cheap labour reduces wages making housing even more unaffordable. Moreover, a flood of cheap labour hampers the transition to higher value added businesses by encouraging lower value businesses, thus further limiting income growth. Productivity growth is the an essential way forward to affordable housing. The answer is to stem the flood of migrants until rising wages meets lower housing costs. Also, Canada needs to lower its overall population if it is serious limiting its carbon footprint in this cold climate with long distances between cities. Higher productivity with higher wages meets lower housing demand caused by limiting immigration!

Blackrock vanguard wealthy middle eastern folks and wealthy Asians
The investor class. People's homes are an important asset. They'll keep it empty (or rent it) for a few years and sell it later for a nice profit. It's like crypto. The migrants play two roles here: cheaper labor and also a pressure on housing prices. Knowing who benefits from increased migration also clarifies why all parties are for it.

Qualified immigrants & Canadians are leaving. Refugees and unqualified immigrants/students are flooding in. That's actually one of the reasons for emigration. Thats actually one of the main reasons for almost all of the problems here right now.
If govt were to underwrite relevant employment for half of all those under-employed foreign professionals, at half pay (under supervision if necessary) for one year, I'm pretty sure many would be retained after the trial, and the economy would see a significant boost.

Do you have a source for this? The stats Canada thing, I mean? Thanks!

"Labor shortage"? 🤨 Um, no, there's no labor shortage, companies simply don't want to hire citizens because they'd have to pay them a livable wage; they'd rather just hire immigrants so they can pay them less and act like they're doing them a favor.
Can't imagine how horrible their home countries are to want to come to Trudeau's Canada during high and worsening inflation. maybe they have an outdated image of Canada?
Maybe if employers treated their employees with a bit of respect than there wouldn't be a shortage. I've been working for 35 years and rarely have had a job with decent management.
The system is so broken. Immigrants are filtered for the education and skills needed in canada...and then after getting here, they learn that their education and skills are not recognized, and they have to start all over again anyways. And the image they are fed of widespread prosperity and wealth is shattered, after they realize everyone is just in debt
🎯 Bingo
This is not a bad thing, I miss the Canada of 10 years ago. It is unrealistic for immigrants to think that they can take a job away from a Canadian citizen. Ask yourself, as a Canadian in a foreign country, would I be treated as well as they are in Canada. In most cases, no.
I have been saying that for years. We would not receive any help from their country.
