Inside Corners, Wind + Thermals | HUNT RECAP SZN 1 | EP. 5

- Inside corners are deadly setups. The deer feel like they have the advantage moving into the wind, and you’re safe from getting winded because they don’t want to walk through the open field. This creates a great funnel on the windward corner of the field.
Deer like to use the wind and thermals together to get an extra advantage. This helps them feel secure, and it's an efficient way to search for does.
If you’re hunting hill country, do yourself a favor and grab a pulley and rope from the hardware store, it'll make your life a lot easier when you go to recover your deer.

Great video
Thank you guys!!! Go Blue!
Gear stuff here Alex..thanks for sharing!
Interesting breakdown… and I like the shirt… Go Blue!
The Grit series has been great! I look forward to new episodes every week, great job!
Question: how do you pay attention to changes in thermal activity during mid day sits? I understand the concept of scent rising as the temp warms and vice versa, but when in a tree what resources do use to actively keep tabs on thermals?
This was an awesome break down to the previous video. I hope youre able to do other videos like this. Great work and congratulations on that stud you harvested.
Awesome video I love this series. Say you have a ridge that’s loaded with acorns on the tip of it that dumps down into a huge swamp. The ridge has a very long left side to it that faces north out to the swamp. If I’m watching your videos correctly you would hunt the ridge side facing north with a west wind trying to catch bucks coming down the side to the bedding area and in the evening you would hunt a north wind on the acorns so they can come up the top of the ridge and work down the side. Correct? I realize thermals come into play here tho so not sure how that would work out yet.
Access from the S / Sw ofc
I like the pulley idea... but how about get 2 pulleys.. hook one to the buck.. 2x mechanical advantage!!
👍
Why were the thermals pulling down in the morning?
Shaded side of ridge
Cold air sinks into the lowest point of terrain features.
Love the pully, I have the
Roll N Lock ascender by climbing technology
I use on my linemens belt but it can also be used as a pully.
