the Panama level was the first time ever when Max was in a gun battle during daytime. Throughout max payne 1 and 2, all the fight happened at night.
The first mission of max payne 3 is during an late afternoon/evening

This song is why Max Payne 3 is art. Max Payne 3 alongside music like this describes how we get older just like Max and we never stop battling our demons no matter how old we are. This song also describes that nothing lasts forever. We eventually lose loved ones. And eventually we all die as well, but what matters is what we do with our time while we are still alive. Max Payne 3 is not just art, its a accurate description of life. This is why i will always love this game.

One winter, where it all clicked and i felt everything deeply and sincerely. This game became a personal milestone. I wanted it to never end.
I'm right there with you, this story played a role in my life some people will never understand.
Panama is one of my favorite soundtracks, so this was a welcome surprise

When I was younger there have definitely been more than a few nights I spent drunk, reflecting on my life choices with Max Payne 3 music on in the background.
I ain't about that life anymore, but I'm glad Max Payne's story and the music got me through some dark times

I do too. Minus the alcohol, I'm a non-drinker(I think people call it "teetotaler"?). Sometimes it's so hard to fight your demons... I can't recall a single bad decision in my life, and sometimes I still just can't shake off the feeling something is wrong.

Oh my god this hits totally different after reading the max payne 3 comics and knowing a bit more about max past...what kind of tragic sad past. A drunk cheating father, who was a veteran and had ptsd. A dellusional mother. Max said it himself:
"I cheated...I lied...-and even killed the wrong people."
Poor man was falling apart more and more even before his time in Brazil
Just play in first and second chapters and you understand more than that. Love this franchise.

I feel and think that the song wants to show the feeling of someone who lost his valuable things all of them suddenly then tried to back on feet but he failed again and he is ready to beat the fuck out of his enemies but he dont have enough energy to even wake actually dont want also he dont give a fuck to anything uh one moreover thing which is he won’t find any reason to breathing if he thinks about it but he won’t
Honestly, New Jersey background for this is even better than screenshot from Panama. You can literally see how strange is the transition from being drunk near home to being drunk at the boat in the middle of Panama.

Nobody should go through what max went through. Nobody deserves it. Just to have everything and then stripped away the very next moment. Most would break but somehow our hero did not. His sanity is to be respected and also questioned. He is like a sailor floating on waves of a black sea with dusky sky on a wooden plank with no shore in sight. Its an endless sea of bravado.
