I think it's unfair to not give advent proper respect. He's farming stats vs chinese t4 mushroom farmers and fishermen. Advent is the real goat worst of all time
Dude was a fantastic IGL. He’d constantly make major runs with players that didn’t deserve to be there. You don’t make major playoffs with players like shara or waylander without being a slick IGL.
He wasn't really that bad, this video does him dirty lol. He was a well respected IGL and his teams consistently made it to the majors, for the type of rosters they fielded it was considered overperforming.
B1ad3 is such a chad these days that I forgot he was barely a human decoy in csgo. Looking at his gameplay, it feels like he would lose a 1v1 vs your average bum in silver lobbies.
B1ad3 was never a good player but by far one of the best IGLs to play the game. Not discussing coaching obviously. He took Flipsid3 Tactics, a struggling B-C tier team to nine majors in a row. That doesn't happen if you're overall a terrible player. His stats as a player weren't any good but he attended 10 major tournaments. All with little success, only ever reaching knockouts once after an upset against NiP in Colonge 2016. Regardless I think his longevity with Flipsid3 and pulling mediocre players like Worldedit, Davcost, Shara, Waylander and Bondik to majors is such an accomplishment and a testimony to his unbelievable calls and tactics. Not a fragger by any means but not the worst player to grace CSGO. The video is funny but it lacks the acknowledgment that qualifying for majors was a task in of itself. They never performed to be fair, but reaching these majors was huge for the org. After going bust in 2018-19, the manager Finch revealed that owning an esport org was far too tasking, they were out competed by bigger orgs offering much higher numbers on contracts. The revenue Flipsid3 accrued mainly came from stickers in CS and their Dota and RL ventures. I think B1ad3 genuinely kept an org alive probably half a decade longer than it should have been. I'm trying not to just glaze B1ad3 but I followed the scene so closely back in this period and I think he deserves so much more credit than is given. Although a really good video, it points out that he was trash mechanically to be fair, probably one of the worst fraggers in the scene but he only gets this title because his IGL'ing was so good, it was enought to reach majors and A tier tournaments where he is matched against far higher skilled opponents and therefore he gets out fragged almost every single game. The utility point was very good though, no idea why he was so terrible with util.
@@mrlawnmowerdeth3298 He was the star man for a lot of games, agreed. I would say he was overall mediocre but had high frag potential. Same with Wordledit. Bondik had a 1.07 rating with F3 and Worldedit had 1.08. Really good players on their day but after Hellraisers Bondik showed that he was never going to be a top player. But agree with your comment!
a lot of the stats that go into utility weren't tracked prior to 2016, some of them i think even as late as 2017, and b1ad3 retired in 2018. I'd venture to guess that "enemy time flashed per round" is counted as 0 for all of his games before the stat was tracked.
16:00 some more context is that blad3 lost a really easy post plant clutch on inferno against Zeus. They lost 16-1. S1mple tweeted "I can't believe such experienced players can make decisions like this.", then left the team soon after.
Genuinely didn’t even notice how small of a channel this way until I was deep into the video. Indistinguishable in quality to a large channel. Great job, man
Just so you know, the utility stat is kinda broken for 2015 and earlier. It's the same for all players. It seems to work normally from 2016 onwards, just look at karrigan's utility rating in 2015 compared to 2016, same with gla1ve for instance
What I've noticed is that most of the 1.6 legends had a rough transition to CS:GO with a few exceptions. So no surprise that a non tier 1 player from 1.6 would have even more trouble but I'm glad he found success with coaching.
I was always rooting for the 1.6 boys back in the transition to GO period of the scene. Players like Markeloff, Karrigan, Delpan, n0thing, f0rest, GTR, Dosia, Edward, and plenty more. Some excelled, some... didn't. I always kept hope for some of these players because I watched a lot of them as a kid/young teen. fRoD was one of the players that comes to mind that I saw do amazing things in 1.6 that just didn't have it anymore. Markeloff is another one who I kept hoping would find his way back to the AWP (he was a top 2 awper at the end of 1.6). Cogu was another one I wanted to see shine... I'm glad we got f0rest & GTR and quite a few others that did well, though. It was also awesome to see all of the source talent I wasn't aware of rise up(see: French scene). It was such an exciting time in CS history
Maybe I am wrong but I thought these HLTV stats like "entrying" for example were supposed to be more of an indication of how often someone does something rather than how good they are at it?
I think B1ad3 and Flipsid3’s ability to consistently punch well above their weight is severely underrated here. The Cologne 2016 run especially, as this was a team whose rifling core was markeloff, wayLander and Shara - all of whom had an average rating below 1.0 that year. The fact that this team consistently qualified for majors over teams with far greater firepower is a testament to B1ad3’s calling. HUNDEN qualified for literally 1 major - Dreamhack Winter 2014 - after they lost in the European qualifier then got invited anyway.
in my opinion, discrediting b1ad3 and flipsid3 for not making major playoffs is totally unreasonable. The fact that a team of their caliber made it to most majors is already very respectable. they were actually known for somehow qualifying to nearly all majors when they probably shouldn'tve. + sticker money, the team can be very proud of their achievements, even though it doesn't show up on hltv or liquipedia.
blade's story gives me hope. i sometimes get hopeless thinking about my future and career, but listening to this made me feel better. who knows where we can end up finding our calling

Yeah, his samples are more than Hooxi and Advent. His stats is kinda misleading to what he did in the game and his impact. How he ended match vs Navi in EPL 19 with 1v4 was crazy
