@@Fuchsia_tude not true at all, not sure where you heard that lol. Machine translations from japanese to english turn out a lot worse than the original ff7. Most of the issues are due to size limitations on text boxes (the scorpion fight for example) since individual japanese characters communicate much more information than english - or because the translators weren't provided with coherent, structured scripts back then - they only had a giant infodump of text to translate line by line with little to no context, which led to several lines being totally misinterpreted. Everything else can pretty much be chalked up to minor typos and oversights, this was an absolutely massive script after all
The opening to this game still gives me chills. The architecture, the cinematic feel, all of it was majestic. It felt like the dawn of a new era in gaming (which it turned out to be, in actual fact).

Some don't realise that when you spend your childhood playing such a game, the soundtracks are comforting in an indescribable way, and are our go to, in sickness, and in health. Probably that's why I like FF7 more than other FF (outside of FF Tactics). Also, got into the first SaGa Frontier, which is not a particular good game, but nostalgia ...
Doooood SaGa Frontier is the bomb!!! My brother got me into RPGs with Secret of Mana and I played his copy of FFVII when it came out (I was born in 90). VII is a great game. IX being my all-time favorite.

The beginning of this game actually made me feel it’s the end of the game. Everything seems like what you’d expect in the final battle. Only Cloud at Level 7 made me believe it’s the beginning.
