You mentioned about safety as important parameter for you but did not wear seatbelt while driving. It is primary restraint system, SRS airbags will be useful only with primary restraint system so better wear it everytime.

paddle shift and hill hold control .. these features are for very selected consumers.. majority of the consumers tend to ignore these... however in your case.. if you really want these than obviously Jazz is your choice.. but i would like to suggest you.. you will hardly use them.... so choice is yours mate..

Outer build quality should be bit strong. However safety depends on many things. But being premium hatchback it should be more strong layer at outside. It feels cheap. Maruti setting wrong standard just to make average more.

the swift auto is tprque based thats technology is opd is not that fuel efficient compared to continous variable tramission (cvt) that is used is baleno which helps in making a car smooth and gives more mileage
Rahul Singhania jazz is a better car in terms of space n build quality and its powerful too on paper. interiors wise too jazz has an edge over Baleno n moreover its spacious too. jazz is any day better than Baleno .. but its slightly expensive .. if your pocket allows you u can go fot it .. thnks
Thanks! One follow up question. Do we have engine noise issue during rev up in Jazz as I know Baleno is way smoother. Also considering Jazz VX cvt touches very close to 11lakh on road Bangalore. Will you advise a different car in that range considering I don’t want to shell out any more than that 11 too and cvt petrol being the only preference.

very nice video... i took test drive of alpha cvt n i felt it lags very initial pickup and takes a second to start reving after pushing acclerator ...also i noticed engine's noise all time though not disturbing but its there... but driving is very easy and hassle free. did u experience same?
That's called rubber band effect on sudden acceleration because the hydraulics use that time to change ratio of the pulleys in CVT, overall it' less time taken to change a gear manually but we expect acceleration to happen instantaneously. It decreases on 'S' mode as RPM goes about 2 k higher than normal.
you did not cover the most important feature of car..CREEP FUNCTION...where the car moves by itself when you release the brake. Too good for traffic in city.
I am using in Shimla for last two months, gets noisy above 40kmph uphill when RPM crosses 2500 because CVT keeps RPM at maximum possible torque, rest extremely quick and no gear hunting. Mileage is impressive.
AMT is almost a manual type transmission that facilities there action as Autonomous, however, CVTdo it in a smooth way. In rough terrain AMTcould work better while in plain, CVT actbetter. CVT transmission is better because it has infinte gear ratio. Also CVT is smoother than AMT.
All Automatic CVT are noisy if you treat it as a sports car. Because it takes time for the fuel burnt to match the rpm you want to attain. But on Manual you are aware at what rpm you gotta gear shift. Even BMW automatic makes noise, when you push the accelerator. So accelerate normally, it will not be noisy.
