2001 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Sears Craftsman 175

- The second and final time the trucks raced at the Chicago Motor Speedway. There was a war in the battle for the championship going on at this point of the season. This was also the first race young 16 year old Kyle Busch had a chance to win, stealing it on fuel mileage. I to this day do not know why they did not push the truck instead of tow it. Perhaps they didn't have any wreckers with the push bumpers on the front. Either way Scott Riggs took over the points lead with a win.

Lack of interest. The place cost more to turn the lights on than it made in sales. It has since been torn down.
I had no idea this race even happened. I wish the NCWTS would go back to this kind of schedule, they don't need to go to all the big tracks.
The track was demolished because Chicago land speedway was finished.

@NascarNixon You're Right this Chicago track is a lot less boring than the other one
They should rebuild Chicago Motor Speedway and tear down boring Chicagoland Speedway.
CMS was an interesting racetrack definitely should rebuild it. Problem is the reason why it closed was because of the locals complaining of the noise. Who gives a shit really. Chicagoland is borrrrring that shit hole needs to be torn down same with Kansas, Las Vegas and Texas
Well, the racing's been better, but this track'd be fun to see today.
Chicagoland Speedway is done
Similar to gateway?
I'd take this Chicago track any day over that crappy Chicagoland track we have now.
kinda wish they woulda put 15-18 degrease of banking and then this track would not have been closed
11:42 "Remember the name Kyle Busch" and now here's a Sprint Cup Champion.
Neat thanks. Heard about this track but never seen a race on it before.
@prmaniac1958 Yes, that Kyle Busch.
sexy track
was my first nascar race
The attendance for the 2000 race was pretty good...so what happened here? Did Chicagoland really take the hype away from this track?
LG GM ISC partnered with IMS to build Chicagoland with every intention of moving the trucks there as well as cup and bgn. So not only was Cicero guaranteed to never host a NASCAR race but Irl went to Chicago too and they couldn't make money with 1 CART race. The track couldn't sustain a 75000 people cup crowd either.
That sucks. That looked like a great track.
It seems funny watching this. So many things that no longer exist. The track, Sears, and Craftsman is only a name anymore.
15:25 Dana White raced in NASCAR? Dahfuq?
Shame they tore down this track. It's like a big Martinsville.
Why did they stop racing here? Chicagoland?
@TheSubstituteGnome It's been demolished, I believe.
Yeah, hard to believe that Chicagoland caught on like it did, but this place was damn near deserted. Even the CART races hear were baren, and I'd argue that this was the better track all around.
S1aptasticSquadalah this place looks like something I'd visit but Chicagoland ehhh not really
now both are abandoned
You have made my life. Thank you!
Kyle Busch?
Who's this Kyle Busch character? He's not gonna amount to much.
Someone told me he was going to win a cup title Despite not even running all the races....never laughed so much before in my life
@@aolbf5 thankfully he won it running all the races this time
