1:00 That music brings back memories. This is one of those games that I really enjoyed and wanted to complete but never got around to it and now it's in the realm of classic.
Funny how at 45:25 they have an image of Aragorn in his Gondor Black Gate attire, wielding Narsil. Yet this game came out even a month before TTT movie! Definitely wasn’t intended but that was probably the earliest glimpse of the ROTK movie
This game scared and confused me as a kid. I'd end up beating it years later and thought it was pretty cool. Now decades have past and I'm in complete nostalgia!
I don't know what it was, but I have a clear memory of seeing this in gamestop on a GBA kiosk and I was like, WOAAAAH THIS IS AMAZING! I was so hyped for it, got it and actually loved it. Especially playing as Legolas. Now LoTR tFotR however was the worst video game I'd ever played and I felt so bad asking my mom to get it for me and hating every second of it.
Nostalgic game of the time! I loved the movies and the gameboy games were just so epic! I remember staying in one zone and constantly farm so i can progress easier xD
I wish the console version of this game was a blend of the combat style of the console version but with the heavier RPG elements and larger character selection with different storylines of the GBA version. Both are so good but just imagine
Return of the King was miles better, and this game is GOOD. I struggle to know why they got so little recognition. RotK though, better in ALL aspects: best sound/graphics on the console, deeper systems, finer atmosphere, stronger gameplay
I'm relatively curious as to why ROTK's Game Boy Advance version doesn't have any speedruns that I can find. Like, I wonder if it's just too inconsistent to run, like maybe too much RNG, or if it's just that no one has tried to run it yet lol
Can't wait to get my GameBoy Advance SP Cobalt Blue Color Console and The Two Towers & The Return Of The King, & The Third Age, & Lego Star Wars I & II & Star Wars Trilogy Apprentice Of The Force & Star Wars Attack Of The Clones & Star Wars Revenge Of The Sith III & Tony Hawks Pro Skater 2 & 3 and Toy Story 2 originally for gameboy color ❤️ will be awesome to play these masterpieces again 🤙🏻
@@etheridescence I buyed it on ebay 👍🏻 and yes IPS v2 screen is really awesome even whit the lowest brightness setting the screen looks amazing and if you use brightness setting on 2-4 it looks super! ❤️you doesen't even need to use bigger brightness setting than that and that way battery last longer 👍🏻

Have you played any other hack and slash games on GBA that are good? Anything similar to Gauntlet or the LOTR games you would recommend?
The Fangorn Troll has a safespot where you can stand inside the range of its attack without getting hit. I missed the correct position on the first few tries
the map in 20:28 have two versions the first it haves an area with two orc sword champion and two chests,between the chests there is a map.collect it then go to the pause menu and select 'artifacts' then you will see a item that its name is bilbos map
It's the Eye of Sauron and represents corruption. Corruption increases when crebain (crows) escape and drummers drum (among other things). -Purity items make corruption increase faster. As corruption increases, enemies get more health and hit harder. If it reaches the maximum, Nazgul appear and will probably kill you if you aren't well equipped (or use exploits).

yes it is totally possible, with legolas I was tricking the game into spawning them behind a wall I could shoot them with arrows through. they are really tuff but they do drop some cool uncommon and rare stuff sometimes. And they also give incredible amount of exp. 2k per kill on maximum difficulty. it's the only to reach level 52 (max level)
the ! is just the level of the sauron eye.if the !-eye reaches size lv 8 above the eye will start fade red-white and then nazguls will be summoned.the more the eye will be size lv 8,more nazguls will apear.(each nazgul gives you 300xp if you kill it and moreover a nazgul it haves terrifing damage
I got Legolas on lvl 29 with 21 pts into Critical Shot and 100 accuracy... When things refuse to die, 13 pts Spread Fire fixes that lol Playing on Grueling too. Much fun.
well, maybe it's because you view it on a large HD screen. Remember that the gba screens where around 3 inches. the animations are quite fluid and it even had very good video sequences to boot!
@@firstname3255 You can download it alongside an emulator to play on your phone. It's probably the easiest solution. My Boy (emulator) works quite well.

His healing ability works way better than the rest

That Fangorn Troll was problematic, did you glitch it out when you beat it? That 10% speed Lornica was a sweet reward though

How do you make your sword sparkle like that? It does additional damage right?
The sword sparkles when you are holding B to charge your attack. I assume it does extra damage but I never really checked

It's a strong attack that delivers a fixed amount of damage. That larger number is the charged attack damage.
