Was looking for some stuff for a forum member and came across this....I have an 09 1500 and I don't have any issues with it, granted it's only got 83k miles (perks of living on base and deployments).

Reminds me of that old war movie" The Sand Pebbles". A British Steam powered gunboat in post WW1 China. The Chinese that the Brits had working on the boat thought it was powered by ghosts and black magic. Our vehicles are nuts and bolts and wires etc.,if it's not working there's are reason, not some goblin under the hood.In my lifetime,if it doesn't leave me sitting along the road,no matter what make or model,it's top notch imo.( Doesn't hurt I've been a diesel mechanic 35+ years either).

I bought a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 Sport brand new back in the day. I washed and waxed it about every 4 to 6 months and after about 2 to 3-years, the clear started to burn off on the hood. After about 4-years, the dash started to crack (little did I know that was a common issue on that generation). Dodge would not replace the dash nor repair the large area where the clear and paint were now discolored. I cannot really complain about the drivetrain because all I have had to replace was the following: water pump at approximately 115,000+ miles; radiator about 500 miles after I replaced the water pump; and I just recently replaced the output transmission senor at about 122,500 miles. However, I will NEVER buy another Dodge or Chrysler product just because of the crap they produced and unwillingness to repair and/or repair what were inferior products.

Quite literally just about every auto maker is gonna have true same tiny wiring on headlights. It’s cheap. I speak from experience on dodge, Nissan, ford, chevrolet, and Toyota. What exactly happened with these headlights? I’ve got a 2010, lights work fine but the automatic feature quit working literally 10 years later. Looks to me that your son is just rough as hell on his truck

Iam glad I watched this video, and was able to do an even cheaper fix for now, eventually I will replace the socket, but for 4 bucks, put a dab of dielectric grease in the socket. It worked for me. The middle pin hole on my 08 ram did have a slight burn mark on it so it will need to be replaced soon but this could get you by for a little while.

I have a used 2014 ram 1500 quad cab non of these i have any issues with .... not sure where your son got his truck at but I'm going to guess either at a buy here pay here lot , or at a auction, or from a private seller, or from bank repo, or from salvage yard , or he actually done the damage him self again not pointing fingers cause i don't know where he got the truck from or the condition it was in but what I'm saying is those places i mentioned above it's buy as is where is

Other than the size of wiring, all the other damage is owner ignorance! Jerking the hood release isn't necessary and the console, maybe if he put both hands on the wheel instead of leaning to the right trying to look cool would help! I have a Ram that I have had for 4 years and have none of these problems!

My dads 2000 Doge Ram 1500 4X4 that does not have a DLR system has a problem with the Head Lights every now and then will stay on with the switch off and Key off or while it is just sitting there with every thing off the head lights will just come on.
he has replaced the switch and it still does it. and we cant figure it out
so if any Dodge fans out there has any ideas please reply to this

That truck in not a year old. That is mid to late 90s. And probably we'll over 300k miles on it. If your son and whomever owned it before would take care of it then you too will appreciate it.

Your son paid 10k if not more less than he would have for one of the other major brands comparable trucks. See where I'm going....

Great video you made. You had some good points. Now tell me,why is it that you Americans build piece of junk cars compared to the Europeans and charge an extremely high amount of money for those piece of junk trucks because all of them are complete junk.
So I'm asking you, an American, and I would like you to tell me. Why is it that your own American people are selling you American people complete junk cars. because as the who live in this country, already found that out a long time ago.
I'm having exactly the same problem with my truck and the brake release is falling apart as well.

I don't have a good answer for you, Allen. I see the same... garbage... coming from Chrysler and GM. There seem to be (slighty) better vehicles coming from Ford, but the *dramatic* increase in electronics/sensors is... just... plain... stupid.
-- A *HUGE* part of the problem is 'union' labor = huge costs of production. The other side of it is IDIOTS doing the "engineering." They try to "cut costs" on individual parts (cheaper steel, more plastics) and produce garbage.
