Courtney Laplante is one of the best female vocalists in the metal scene right now. Right up there with Tatiana with her ability to swap from beautiful cleans to brutal screams with such ease.

Spiritbox has been my favorite band since 2019! I'm a sucker for an angelic singing voice that stops on a dime and then pours out a potent metal growl.
I have been listening to this genre of music for 25 years, and Courtney LaPlante has the best sing and growl. Most of the time vocalists either have a good singing voice and a not so good growl or vice versa.

They're so good live too
Courtney can flip from that angelic voice to that scream and back again on a dime live. She's the smoothest at doing that live that i think i've ever seen in a vocalist. Male or female. To be honest, Courtney and the band sound even better live. Plus, they are a very versatile band. The guitarist Mike who has the chrome guitar in this video is Courtney's husband. Mike does all writing, composition and tracking of the instruments, while Courtney writes the lyrics. They also work together to pick the right tones in the music to match Courtney's tone for each song, which really amplifies their sound.
The only one that does it better is Tatiana from Jinjer but this world is big enough for the both of them cause they are both next level live. Such a great time to be alive for metal music.
