Laika story makes me sad, dog is innocent like a little child. And it was sent into space, trusting the scientist who raised it for the mission. It's very sad, I don't think they should have ever sent dogs into space. Laika died from overheating just hours after the rocket launched, it's a sad story. I think this video here shows the childlike trust Laika had while being raised at the facility and trusting the people, it's sad. Makes me get a tear in the eyes.
Space race stories are sad in general, the amount of lives lost but kept in secret is crazy. Imagine being the first person in outer space, but nobody knows your name because the government didn't consider it "a success"

This song is based on the first living being in space a dog named Laika Laika’s story: Laika was a stay living on the streets of Moscow but one day a scientist took her because there was a contest called the space race and which ever country gets to space first basically wins Laika stayed there in the lab for a while until they finished the rocket (Sputnik 2)etc so many days or years later they were ready to send here off she got ready to go to space they put her in the ship and sent her off there she flew away a couple hours later she was getting close too earths atmosphere at a fast rate and the rocket got on fire and she died but before she went in the rocket the scientist put some kind of special drug/medicine in her food so she doesn’t feel pain if she dies because they didn’t have the technology at the time to bring her back so her death was expected but she didn’t only die from that she also died of panicking because she wasn’t aware of what was going on. rip Laika
She died from overheating in the shuttle, as well as extreme stress. It is said (not sure if this is accurate and I don’t remember where I heard it from) that the last words she heard were: “I’m sorry. Please forgive me.” This might not be true though.
