I am only 30, and I am not religious. But you, Phil, have shown me that I would be silly to think that faith doesn't give strength beyond what we can do by ourselves. You have so much energy flowing, like Michael Hedges. I put you two into your own league when it comes to hearing your soul in your music. You don't even try, it just channels out of your fingers into the guitar in such an effortless and smooth way. Like some greater power was pushing you towards what notes to play, and no concious thinking involved. That's what I experience in my mind when I hear you play. Your version of this from 11 years ago on stage with the blue lights will forever be one of the most emotional songs of all time.
Phil, you have a brother named Carl? So cool! I never knew that! I first heard you on a radio station out of Joplin Missouri back in very late 1976 or very early 1977, not sure exactly. The song was "Disappointment". I have loved your music ever since.
