I started reading Kagurabachi last week and I'm caught up to where the manga is currently and I can wholeheartedly recommend giving it a read. There are so many amazing qualities about the manga. The characters are great, lovable, and well written, especially Chihiro (despite his looks he's actually not a typical edgy, brooding MC). The artwork is absolutely fantastic, there's a reason why people say that Kagurabachi has cinematic paneling, it can truly look like something from a movie. I truly believe Hokazono is going to go down as one of the great mangakas of his time (and he's only 23 I think, which is crazy). The story is amazing and the current arc is actual peak. Definitely give it a read, I can't recommend it enough!
Martial Master Asumi was something that was never gonna be the most popular, but I really did hope that it was able to survive and exist under the radar at least.
@@BrokenRonin it hurts but you’re right. M.M.A just isn’t as wildly popular concept and the series was probably a bit too grounded for a story that’s trying to make it in jump. Maybe we’ll get a SJ mixed martial arts series that makes it work in the future.

The memes started before the first chapter even released haha. I definitely picked it up because of them, and it just slowly became less and less ironic as it went on. A little over a month later, and the recommendation for Volume 3 comes from Kishimoto. Debate quality all you want, this series has the motion to put itself on the map with a member of the big 3 putting the spotlight on it so early on.
After reading the first 30 chapters it's clear that the hate for this series is so forced. Like sure you can think it's mid there but it's not bad and it's usually jjk fans hating.
Bro, I don't know if you read it But the battle panels are simply crazy, they are fancy in a way that you can actually see how badass and stylish the protagonist and the art style is. I suggest giving it a chance, as someone who read and watch a lot of this culture in general, I'm bout to say Kagurabachi will be something highly hyped, in a jujutsu kaisen level past the years.
Bachi gang rise up! This series has (to me at least) has been a day one banger. If you want to make the analogy that most manga can been seen as a tv show, kagurabachi is like a k drama/ movie.
I’ve begun to read this series around the time the memes start coming around, and man I came in with low expectations and will say these manga is actually really entertaining. Some of the facial expressions at the start look weird at first but the art gets better as the it progresses and even early there’s still plenty of great panels, and even the MC is more than just a “edgy swordsman with a tragic backstory.” It’s a manga that really feels like it’s made with passion and care, and it’s giving me that feeling I had back when I was reading manga like Bleach when it was running. Right now it’s still in that “Honeymoon” phase where so far it’s so good, but the potential is there and if they keep this energy I can see it becoming a modern classic.
Bro, the panel of shiba teleporting soya into the sky was one of the best action sequences I’ve seen in a while. Also, this paneling and writing style gives me mass effect, kotor vibes with the whole cinematic thing he’s got going on!
According to jajanken the last 4 rankings of Kagurabachi in Japan are 17/20, 17/20, 16/20, and 17/20. One piece rarely ranks below 3 for comparison. Kagurabachi probably won’t be cancelled, but it needs a killer anime to be the face of jump. I think undead unluck is really good but since it’s anime was basically ignored, it’ll never be the face of jump.
Other mangaka's styles do not translate well into eachother's art. The only time I've seen a mangaka make another's characters work in their style was Horikoshi drawing Goku. Who'd have thought that Goku wouldn't translate well to the One Piece art style though
