As a member of the non furry community also, I totally get where your coming from, not even on Halloween. Those suits are way to cumbersome to wear at school, specially for the young students. The logistics of this alone would overwhelm the school system to the point of shutting them down when compounded with the Covid situation. I just don't get how this individual can't see this. Sad.
I was a furry on account that I made furry and anthro artwork for sale and thru private commissions. Emphasis on "WAS" on account that they've gone too far left for my comfort zone 7 or 8 years ago (they banned a well-known comedian in the furry community for essentially saying that punching a dude in the face is a bad idea, even if their ideology's full-on garbage).

As a person whom has a furry friend I can confirm, furries don’t identify as animals it’s a form of crossplay, therians are the people whom act like animals.
An example of a furry is people who dress up as anthropomorphic animals for fun they don’t believe they are the animal!
Another example of a furry is adding humanised characteristics to the animal like the movie Zootopia that adds that.
An example of a therian are the people who believe they were either once an animal in a past life or whatever but I have never seen Therianthropy get this bad darn.

I think the child got confused on what a furry was because they do not think they are cats or dogs, they are just cosplaying in their oc’s (original characters). Therians are the ones who identify themselves as a dog or cat, or not totally human. It’s sad to see that furries are so misunderstood. They just want to have a fun time as their characters.

Let me clear something up: Furries aren't people who literally identify as an animal. Furries are people who like anthropomorphic animals; characters like Nick Wilde, Sonic, etc. That's literally the only connecting thread between everyone in the fandom.
There is a separate term for those who literally identify as an animal, but honestly, I don't even recall what it was. I also don't think it's something we need to be "catering to" in schools.
If she's correct about the whole litterbox thing, something needs to be done about that. You should not be encouraging children to play pretend and act like a cat during school hours.

"The agenda that's being pushed" is a phrase I'm very quickly growing tired of hearing. REAL REASON: The real reason why schools might have kitty litter in the building is because it's a great absorbent if something gets spilled on the ground. Industrial strength absorbent may be too expensive, or not easily available to obtain.
Exactly, most janitorial staffs have a bag of kitty litter handy in just about any work place setting for this exact purpose. In parking lots it both absorbs oil leaks as well as can be used for traction on icy areas in the winter. The idea that schools would be allowing children to use a litter box to go to the bathroom is so ignorantly stupid and preposterous that it boggles the mind. Its like these people all of sudden just became stupidly clueless over night about the fact that schools have to abide by Health & Safety codes and therefore would not be allowed to have litter boxes for children to use as place to go to the bathroom. DUMB DUMB DUMB people in this world I swear, and what's even more frightening is that they breed.

That Utah school doesn’t look like it has any playground equipment in the footage with the “furries” “biting and scratching other students”, it’s just a brick wall with a sidewalk and blacktop. Maybe they are playing pretend due to the fact that the school hasn’t even half a balance beam nor the slightest fraction of a tetherball pole. If a young student wants to play pretend as their fursona at school before and after class hours that’s fine, as long as you are not harming anyone. But if we don’t educate enough people about what furries actually are, then we REAL furries might end up as casualties in a possible repeat of what happened in Germany, Rwanda, and Cambodia all because WE had a fun hobby that a young group of philistines didn’t like!!

When I was a kid, we never played any games like I'm a cat or dog. I think my parents and grandparents would have quickly reminded us that we were humans, not animals. We frequently played house, dress up and wagon train.

Actually. To be a furry you have to typically have an underlying amount of mental problems, so yes, it is a weird thing that weird people get into. All of these people project themselves onto an animal avatar and the obsession they have with their self inserted persona is extremely unhealthy. If you're a child, I suggest you consult some counseling because its obvious that anyone who associate with this outcast group is likely lonely and insecure, you don't want to associate with this group, the further you plunge into it the more mentally depraved you will become.

I know that furries and litter boxes are in our school district. They have been seen by to many parents and children. A friends daughter was encouraged to become a fury at school and she was seriously considering it because it was made out to be cool. Thankfully another adult in her life talked some common sense into her

as a bit of a furry myself (i'm not open about it cause it's really not something people need to know about me), people have been bullying my good friend (he's also a furry) in school. they tell him to "pee in a litter box" and stuff all because of these weird rumors. i got them to stop doing that, but i'm worried it could be going on in his other classes.

I live near Midland. A letter went out to all of the parent's emails. I started laughing and just deleted it. Dow Chemical pretty much owns the city so everything is based on chemistry. I think their mascot is the chemics or something. Pretty much everything in the city has the word Dow or Chemistry or some variation of it in it. If/when Dow ever leaves, the city will crash just like Detroit when the automobile industry left.

The litter boxes are for soaking up anything that may be on the floor and also reduce some odors, not to be used like a cat may use a litter box.
