Hi, I'm Korean and a fan of your channel. First, the music video director was concerned that the music video was 'What if the members of New Jeans are still free and creative friends, but their actions are misunderstood by the public and they stop expressing themselves?' It is said that they expressed their concern that their own colors and expressions as artists and humans would lose their light in the music video. "I'll run whenever you call me~ I exist for you" Hani's line may be expressing Siri, but it's a very important line to express idols. She is expressed as a patient who sings for us, tries for us, and then eventually loses herself and thinks that she is an iPhone (Siri) who has to do anything when she presses the button. Daniel, who is always known to fans for smiling, is always smiling while watching TV with nothing on it, and Hye-in, who was pretending to be pretty for her fans, forgets her situation and thinks she is a princess. So while projecting herself on all princess fairy tales, the steps are twisted, and the prince dies after eating a poisonous apple, and the sleeping princess in the forest dies when a bear appears. Hae-rin, who has been hearing that she looks like a cat, is now even thinking she is a cat. In a similar situation, Min-ji misunderstands that she is a doctor even though she is a patient under pressure to take care of her leader role and members.
The music video is a sad black comedy in which all of their actions are distorted, misunderstood, and criticized by the haters and their actions as idols are attacked. A mental ward is a frame set up by fans, haters, and the public, and they lose themselves there. Daniel said in the middle, "Did you forget who we are?" They blame the members, but they don't remember who they were until the end. Even the haters who write bad comments until the end. It can be seen as a music video with many meanings.

17:58 So that was Minji ... and yes her voice sounds so good, I think she didn't get many lines but wow her tone in the ones she got just fit perfectly.
it is plausible to suggest that this masterpiece right here displays how things can really be *internalized* & how most people are *desensitized* to it. i’d like to quote two of the comments i’ve read & also add my own commentary to it: • ““i’ll run whenever you call me~ i exist for you,” hanni’s line may be expressing siri, but it’s a very important line to express idols. she is expressed as a *patient* who sings for us, _tries_ for us, and then _eventually_ *loses* herself & thinks that she is an iphone (siri) who has to do _anything_ she’s being told to. an "iphone", basically a metaphor for being a person who has to run & be ‘on’ when the button (app) is pushed. • danielle, who is known to fans for always having bubbly personality, is always smiling & laughing [even] while [just] watching tv with _nothing_ on it (she’s so used to her _professionalism_ that it’s almost as if she is still performing & the public eye is there to watch her expressions closely even when no one is there to criticize her. an extremely uncomfortable and unrealistic dilemma to be put in, right?) • hyein has a princess syndrome, because while always trying to dress up & be her prettiest self for the fans, she forgets reality and confuses herself with fairytales. (snow white, sleeping beauty, and the revenant references) - this also reminds me of (g)-idle’s ‘nxde’ especially the line “put on my beautiful self” as idols when what actually want is to bare their souls, show their authentic self more even when they get hated for it) • haerin - ever since debut, both fans and non-fans have said haerin looks like a cat _so much_ that she actually starts to believe she’s a cat • minji is the unofficial leader of the group (there are no positions in nwjns, but a lot of people, and myself included, think she has leadership qualities) and she’s the oldest. so she’s been known to take care of her members very well. hence, her thinking she is a doctor who’s under pressure to take care of her members.” we can also see that in 2:17, she finally decided to check up on her own self too. she needs someone to attend to her needs as well since she is also still young. when people are constantly telling idols what they should do & how to behave/having such audacity to dictate their lives, it will eventually get _into_ them. there is a chance that they may actually, subconsciously, start _believing them._ (this also reminds me of _the rise of bangtan ep 4_ or also known as the times where namjoon expressed his crisis of how he wrestled with his own thoughts that deals with the society’s opinion about him & idols in general, and how he also came up with the resolution of why would he even tried so hard to categorize & box his identity if he is an idol or an artist, when he can just be _himself_ without confinements). because by projecting things towards these artists & feel the need to tweak almost everything about them can be equal to insisting that they should replace their real selves in order to please us just because we are the source of their income and we are the ones making them relevant; which *ironically* made us become deeply into them and stan them in the first place because there are parts of them that are authentic... that are ‘very human’ which are relatable. and when hanni said, *_“now i am ashamed that i was worried. it doesn’t matter who i am anymore. i exist for you.”_* it’s just heartbreaking. because there are k-pop idols who feel sorry and people even guilt trip them when they are expressing their honest feelings. it’s sad that when they finally choose to share their genuine concerns, the public tends to deem them as ungrateful for all the platform, fame/success, support, and all those other things they have - _as if all these things would immune them from feeling empty or restless_ from doing what they used to be passionate about for a long time. when they are being invalidated, eventually, they may perceive that voicing out their thoughts and emotions are pointless since they are always available for fans, but they rarely get to have someone who will listen to them & hold space for them. (it honestly kinda reminds me of the same dilemma in singularity by taehyung. the lyrics *_“i don’t have a voice,”_* *_“i dumped myself into the lake, i buried my voice for you”_* & *_“have i lost myself or have i gained you”_* this is important because as a singer, his voice is what defines him. a symbol of his identity, if you will. it could be interpreted as them sacrificing their real voice and identity in order to please us. or the later half of bts festa 2022 where they’ve expressed their dilemmas when they are experiencing burn out. taehyung even said, “i’ve wanted to show the things that are inside me for a long time now. *_at some point, having these thoughts started to feel wrong. i became cautious in even mentioning the things i’ve wanted to try._* and it was hard to even say that i’m going to try it.” or when hobi said, _“so i hope you don’t see this as a negative thing.”,_ _“i hope you’ll understand”.)_ stans (and even the industry itself) have the tendency to feel entitled & therefore, demand such unnecessary things from them. things which *don’t* really lessen their musicality/artistry, other skills, and *worth.* they are being subjected to be stripped off their basic rights just for the entertainment & the audience’s attachment to them which we already know are harmful _(e.g., fans are very much enticed to fall in love with them but idols themselves are not allowed to fall in love or being frowned upon & lose support if ever they are involved in dating scandals or they themselves openly admit that someone else’s already own their heart & thus, they’re not available anymore which will crash the fantasies of delusional individuals out there and companies who profit from them being marketed as fans’ potential romantic partners/close friends/family i.e. parasocial relationships)._ but sometimes, things still need to be put into perspective. this visual presentation & social commentary is truly top tier that we all should learn from & be _more_ mindful of. otherwise, we would all collectively loose our minds without even knowing it. and just go back from “it is what it is” since such unhealthy perception & treatment has always been the norms - especially in the industry that people mostly often apply the “they’re just doing their job” notion & forgot that they are also human beings like us. “i think the team at ador & hybe are VERY self aware of media and newjeans’ market. they know what people say about newjeans!! this is their first comeback and only 5 months since their debut & they’re already _challenging_ the industry and doing callbacks to their debut! a MASTERPIECE of a music video & the song is 10/10! i love the breaking of the 4th wall, i love how they called out their haters at the end of the video, i love hanni dressed as steve jobs. i mean, this video has it all: humor, weird/quirkyness, references, callbacks, serious topic(s), lore, introspection, thought-provoking...” the only one i’ve experienced who goes with _this kind_ of depth, substance, socio-psychological commentaries and other related issues & therefore has that replay value _ever since_ day 1/debut, is bts. so experiencing the craft of newjeans: the concepts & rich message they’re going for so far is both nostalgic and refreshing in today’s era saturated of only aesthetically-focused content without that much of a substance. and the fact that they are doing both is chef’s kiss. sorry if this is long-winded. i just can’t express enough how this is just so promising at all levels. p.s. all the references i’ve mentioned that i personally find relatable to one another are just based on my background as a psych major, my prior exposure to k-pop culture, those similar patterns i’ve observed in how the industry works, and even just from individuals i’ve encountered/get to experience daily (how they turn their thoughts & emotions into art.) thanks for checking out new jeans!
The underlying narrative is each of them have their own 'character trait' that they play out in the psych ward. Hanni has the iphone/Steve Jobs, then you see Minji say a line saying "I'm not a patient", which is why she plays out a carer role. Dani believes they are new jeans, Haerins drawings come to life, Hyein is a Disney Princess. All of it is about expressing the different psychoses that each character possesses. All of that is what I gleaned, hope that helps.
Fun Fact 1: Given that 2023 is the year of the black rabbit (zodiac), the cover art for the single album OMG is a black bunny. Fun Fact(?) 2: Hanni is one of the lyricists for OMG. Hanni said in a video about a week or two ago that she really liked the movie "Everything Everywhere All at Once". Maybe it was a hint towards the MV, as the MV is quite reminiscent of the chaotic switch-ups of context in the movie. Seems like OMG is sort of the contrast to Ditto, in that the mv for Ditto seems to illustrate more what Newjeans projects onto the fans (as the 6th member of the group, although the mv was from the point of view of 'Heesoo' [Bunnies]), and the mv for OMG seems to illustrate what the fans projects onto Newjeans (i.e. Hanni's almost robotic monologue about her existing and being whatever she is needed to be from the fans/'phone user', fans projecting onto Haerin a cat, Hyein playing the role of classical princess archetypes, haters commenting), although there are overlaps in between the two mvs. Particularly interesting is the concept of Newjeans being crazy (thus them being in an ambulance and also in an asylum), yet the display of the ambulance starts from a clean one to ending up with one with all sorts of imaginative doodles, the same with the constant back and forth from the spotless asylum setting with the white gowns to the crowded party setting. Maybe the message is that with both the sane and insane, the good and the bad, the public and the fans and Newjeans are altogether defining what the group is and setting the trajectory for the group, that Newjeans is not what Hybe or Ador says it is (as Danielle also is seen asking the MV producers what NewJeans is, but the producers also look a bit clueless), but it ends up becoming the summation of what Hybe/Ador says it is and what the public/fans say it is (at one point, the doctor ends up seeing Newjeans constantly transforming into any random set of 5 people, maybe implying that the doctor [the third-party viewer] himself has no idea and has fallen down into the rabbithole [pun intended], or implying that both NewJeans and the third-party viewer can both seem sane and crazy at the same time [since they both display signs of sanity and insanity in different parts of the MV). At the end, another guy (the web cartoonist) in the asylum continues to imagine and build upon what NewJeans is, even after NewJeans leaves (probably parallel to the VHS tapes in Ditto symbolizing that NewJeans as a memory will live on). That guy may be the representative summation of the unpredictable and outlandish imagination of the public/fans. Also, seems like there is a message to the haters at the end of the MV, that they are only insane as the rest are, even if they think they aren't, as the rest also claim, including NewJeans [harkening back to Minji/Danielle saying they're not crazy].
the guy with the goatee at the end is "lee mal nyun" or also known as "chimchakman", a webtoon artist known for having a simple drawing style with outlandish illustrations. Also, towards the latter part of the mv, where danielle walks up to a group of staff, they're the directing team of the mv, the guy at the center being the director "Shin Woo Seok"
Something I notice is that in the beginning in ditto mv from A version is the beginning give a sneak peak of omg the instrumental when hesso was recording them
Hyein thought that she was a dead princess, that explains why she was a ghost for a few second (cinderella ig bc of the shoes and the book) Haerin thought she was a cat, they were referencing it by her eating something that cats would eat (i think LMAO) Hanni thinks shes Siri, you can see her whispering in some walls because she still thinks shes inside an iphone. Minji thinks shes a doctor, which is why at first she said "i'm not a patient" Danielle thinks shes was in a group called NewJeans I think it's meant to show what they were in their past life?? basically danielle's past life is this life in the present, which is a group in NewJeans. So I'm guessing that's the future. But on the FUTURE, which is supposedly Minji's present life in the MV is a doctor. so theres a difference between present in real life and present in the music video.
So.. Minji thinks she's a doctor Hearin thinks she's a cat Hanni thinks she's an iPhone or siri Hyein thinks she's a princess Danielle is trying to tell them that there new jeans that's what I got from it🤷🏾♀️
Okay, I got an idea. They are in a mental hospital. So, Hanni actually shows us modern people (or maybe just celebs) who live for their phones, we smile for Ig, we text a lot, sometimes we don't sleep just to stay online, always trying to show what people want to see, not real selves. The song is actually about a guy (maybe), and I guess we are delusional about our expectations of significant other, or maybe sometimes about male idols. Acting like princess waiting for her prince. But, unfortunately, we are some kind of mentally unstable.
so basically theyre all patients in this psych ward, definite facts of this mv are: minji is a patient that believes she’s a doctor which is why she’s in all their scenes the guy in the beginning is the actual doctor haerin thinks she’s a cat and drew a few cats (she also ate cat food) dani thinks they’re newjeans, which is why she goes up to the directors/cameracrew saying that they’re actually filming a music video (she’s also seen laughing at a tv screen with nothing on it) hanni thinks she’s an iphone/siri and that’s why she’s dressed like steve jobs and hyein has princess syndrome, and she’s shown as different princesses. the stuffed bear she sees is a reference to how in her story, her prince died and the bear attacked her (which is why she is seen as translucent in one scene, implying that she’s a ghost). now, it gets a little confusing when the ditto references come in. my personal theory is that heesoo was just seeing newjeans, they’re all apart of her delusions. and when she broke that camera in side b, those delusions stopped. i think the girls are now in this psych ward because heesoo has stopped feeding into these delusions of them being real and has stopped recording. when hanni sends that letter to heesoo, i think it’s newjeans trying to find a way back to heesoo and try to get her to feed into these delusions. but they can’t, because her camera’s broken, and that’s the only thing that was connecting the girls and heesoo. as a side note: heesoo also said in one of the videos on her channel that hyein has some sort of serious princess syndrome, implying that heesoo might’ve made this up about newjeans as well (?) i also saw another theory that said newjeans had died in the ditto mv, and it was heesoo trying to let them go, so maybe they had all these characteristics while they were alive ?
another masterpiece from NewJeans! I understood this as not being able to see their reality because it's maybe too hard or incomprehensible so they had to create another identity to be able to go through that unexpected (or difficult) reality... this is much more common than people think, people who are struggling hard in their life tend to create an identity to be able to go through hardships and when the struggles are gone they have a lot of complications for going back to their real identity, because in fact they're really thankful of their new identity... it's about identity issues on a psychiatric level so they are explaining the doctor who they really feel they are. Haerin is a cat, Hyein is a princess, Hanni is an iPhone, Danielle is an idol/entertainer and Minji is a doctor, about Minji I can interpret that she is so affected that she is only able to help others, not even being able to see her own actual psychological disease... even if my guts or the idea I got was wrong that's what I'm loving about their MVs, we can interpret in different ways... About the last part when the hater was asking for them to stop being so creative and making MVs this way, I'm guessing it's something that is already happening because to some people maybe because of their frustrations they think they're trying too hard and they only wanna listen to a nice song and see the girls, and Minji saying the hater: "it's time to go" it's making the haters look like mentally unstable (which is true, because haters are people who are really unstable in their own minds, I'm not giving an opinion, it's a fact that people who spread hate it's because they're living a hard life and aren't able to overcome through it another way than hating on others).
Goin back to Ditto, everyone pretty much assumes its from the POV of a fan and their parasocial relationship with idols. And yessuh you got it: Ban Heesoo = Bunnies = NJ fandom. And in the start of this mv Hanni was reaching out to the bunnies askin what do we want her to do for us. And OMG is from the POV of idols who lose their self identities, partially due to fans always applying an image to an idol even if the idol is nothing like that at all. In this video, Minji is the doctor/leader identity and gen pop koreans think, as one of the oldest, she should lead the group. Hanni is the people pleaser who will do whatever it takes to please the fans. Haerin is representing how people apply animals or colors or fruits to idols even if it doesn't match the person at all. Everyone calls her a cat due to her eyes. Hyein is like the princess because people think she has to be taken care of really delicately due to her age (which is pretty true) and she's slowly losing who she is. And I Danielle is representing the one idol who can separate reality from the fandom/group. She knows at the end of the day they are just New Jeans, but people think that's crazy/not enough. TLDR shit is crazy and i never expected New Jeans to be the one to break away from korean norms and make mvs with social commentary. also lmao at them taking shots at trolls at the end.
This song was fire and the MV was too yo, this such a great start of the year for a NJ comeback. They never miss 🤧🤧 Also off topic but those two actors seemed familiar from Extraordinary Attorney Woo lmao
Again, NewJeans showed new Music and Messages~! You can find out what the theme of the MV is through the interview of the director Shin- Woo Seok who made of MV . While working with the members), Director 'Shiin woo seok' learned how pure, clear, and free spirits they had, and This MV contains the concerns of producer Min Hee-jin and director Shin who are concerned that such things are suppressed and restricted by the evaluation and judgment of others. This applies not only to NewJeans, but also to ordinary people who are judged by others and live to satisfy them. It's because if you're conscious of others, you're bound to experience a situation where you lose yourself. Hah!
Netflix quality stuff? I think they need to start making Hybe Cinematic Universe (Use cookies to get attention of a hype boy went OMG still no ditto got hurt 😂). I might be trippin' as well but whatever they are FIRE!!! 🔥🔥🔥
I might be completely wrong on this one, but this might be another one of those instances where all their music videos follows a strory, kinda lile bts did their early ones. If that’s so this is gonna be 🔥

I think this continuation of ditto where sixth girl doubted whether she can go with her friend and leaving new jeans so new jeans saying you can go with him
So their delusions in the MV are assigned to them by Heeseo (the fans): Hanni angelic voice, caring leader Minji, princess Hyein, Haerin being a cat etc. Since Ditto established NWJNS as the idols, this MV is also about fan-idol relationship but from the idol's POV. Idols lose their identities and take on the ones assigned to them by the fans.
that whole mv just blowing my mind to be honest but... hanni dressed like steve jobs bc she is an iphone lmao the last scene telling haters to go get some mental help ahaha genius
Seems like ador making sweetest music with creepy undertone in the storyline, asylum, personality disorders and what not. But music certainly hit Teenage stuff from music to lyrics, very easy and sweet on ears.
The last clip has to have been like a stab at the haters saying that like they too are pretty much just as psycho as the girls. But like the girls aren't actually psycho but they are.
Was this mv already conceptualized before attention? Because Minji’s bathtub scene is altered here. Also wonder how much Loona’s lore success influenced this direction for new jeans. I know aespa has lore but loona’s interested me more
I think that all the newjeans members are delusional and that why there in the center because they forgot who they are and Danielle is trying to make them remember that there newjeans so the iPhone and princess stuff and doctor drawings coming alive is just all in there head.

• hyein has a princess syndrome, because while always trying to dress up & be her prettiest self for the fans, she forgets reality and confuses herself with fairytales. (snow white, sleeping beauty, and the revenant references) - this also reminds me of (g)-idle’s ‘nxde’ especially the line “put on my beautiful self” as idols when what actually want is to bare their souls, show their authentic self more even when they get hated for it)
• haerin - ever since debut, both fans and non-fans have said haerin looks like a cat _so much_ that she actually starts to believe she’s a cat
• minji is the unofficial leader of the group (there are no positions in nwjns, but a lot of people, and myself included, think she has leadership qualities) and she’s the oldest. so she’s been known to take care of her members very well. hence, her thinking she is a doctor who’s under pressure to take care of her members.” we can also see that in 2:17, she finally decided to check up on her own self too. she needs someone to attend to her needs as well since she is also still young.
when people are constantly telling idols what they should do & how to behave/having such audacity to dictate their lives, it will eventually get _into_ them. there is a chance that they may actually, subconsciously, start _believing them._ (this also reminds me of _the rise of bangtan ep 4_ or also known as the times where namjoon expressed his crisis of how he wrestled with his own thoughts that deals with the society’s opinion about him & idols in general, and how he also came up with the resolution of why would he even tried so hard to categorize & box his identity if he is an idol or an artist, when he can just be _himself_ without confinements). because by projecting things towards these artists & feel the need to tweak almost everything about them can be equal to insisting that they should replace their real selves in order to please us just because we are the source of their income and we are the ones making them relevant; which *ironically* made us become deeply into them and stan them in the first place because there are parts of them that are authentic... that are ‘very human’ which are relatable. and when hanni said, *_“now i am ashamed that i was worried. it doesn’t matter who i am anymore. i exist for you.”_* it’s just heartbreaking. because there are k-pop idols who feel sorry and people even guilt trip them when they are expressing their honest feelings. it’s sad that when they finally choose to share their genuine concerns, the public tends to deem them as ungrateful for all the platform, fame/success, support, and all those other things they have - _as if all these things would immune them from feeling empty or restless_ from doing what they used to be passionate about for a long time. when they are being invalidated, eventually, they may perceive that voicing out their thoughts and emotions are pointless since they are always available for fans, but they rarely get to have someone who will listen to them & hold space for them. *_at some point, having these thoughts started to feel wrong. i became cautious in even mentioning the things i’ve wanted to try._* and it was hard to even say that i’m going to try it.” or when hobi said, _“so i hope you don’t see this as a negative thing.”,_ _“i hope you’ll understand”.)_
stans (and even the industry itself) have the tendency to feel entitled & therefore, demand such unnecessary things from them. things which *don’t* really lessen their musicality/artistry, other skills, and *worth.* they are being subjected to be stripped off their basic rights just for the entertainment & the audience’s attachment to them which we already know are harmful _(e.g., fans are very much enticed to fall in love with them but idols themselves are not allowed to fall in love or being frowned upon & lose support if ever they are involved in dating scandals or they themselves openly admit that someone else’s already own their heart & thus, they’re not available anymore which will crash the fantasies of delusional individuals out there and companies who profit from them being marketed as fans’ potential romantic partners/close friends/family i.e. parasocial relationships)._ but sometimes, things still need to be put into perspective. this visual presentation & social commentary is truly top tier that we all should learn from & be _more_ mindful of. otherwise, we would all collectively loose our minds without even knowing it. and just go back from “it is what it is” since such unhealthy perception & treatment has always been the norms - especially in the industry that people mostly often apply the “they’re just doing their job” notion & forgot that they are also human beings like us.
“i think the team at ador & hybe are VERY self aware of media and newjeans’ market. they know what people say about newjeans!! this is their first comeback and only 5 months since their debut & they’re already _challenging_ the industry and doing callbacks to their debut! a MASTERPIECE of a music video & the song is 10/10! i love the breaking of the 4th wall, i love how they called out their haters at the end of the video, i love hanni dressed as steve jobs. i mean, this video has it all: humor, weird/quirkyness, references, callbacks, serious topic(s), lore, introspection, thought-provoking...”
the only one i’ve experienced who goes with _this kind_ of depth, substance, socio-psychological commentaries and other related issues & therefore has that replay value _ever since_ day 1/debut, is bts. so experiencing the craft of newjeans: the concepts & rich message they’re going for so far is both nostalgic and refreshing in today’s era saturated of only aesthetically-focused content without that much of a substance. and the fact that they are doing both is chef’s kiss.
sorry if this is long-winded. i just can’t express enough how this is just so promising at all levels.
p.s. all the references i’ve mentioned that i personally find relatable to one another are just based on my background as a psych major, my prior exposure to k-pop culture, those similar patterns i’ve observed in how the industry works, and even just from individuals i’ve encountered/get to experience daily (how they turn their thoughts & emotions into art.) thanks for checking out new jeans!
they never disappoints
NewsJeans is already beyond K-pop's reach 🐰
Love it Minji telling a hater that her time is up and that they belongs in the mental hospital at the end lol
this comment 😂😂
i fuckin love this mv and song damn just when i thought it couldnt be any better from new jeans they deliver, they dont miss
they just DONT MISS ITS CRAZY.
I never expect there will be a rap line in the MV 😯 WoWzers NewJeans!
Hanni's vocals keep shocking me, but her vocals on there cover of tell me bro are next level
if you want to understand, you really have to keep up with the community. this vid blew my mind with the story telling
Love these girls so much I watched video already 10 times stayed up all night for this I need sleep but new jeans has me under their spell
Something I notice is that in the beginning in ditto mv from A version is the beginning give a sneak peak of omg the instrumental when hesso was recording them
Hyein thought that she was a dead princess, that explains why she was a ghost for a few second (cinderella ig bc of the shoes and the book)
Haerin thought she was a cat, they were referencing it by her eating something that cats would eat (i think LMAO)
Hanni thinks shes Siri, you can see her whispering in some walls because she still thinks shes inside an iphone.
Minji thinks shes a doctor, which is why at first she said "i'm not a patient"
Danielle thinks shes was in a group called NewJeans
I think it's meant to show what they were in their past life?? basically danielle's past life is this life in the present, which is a group in NewJeans. So I'm guessing that's the future. But on the FUTURE, which is supposedly Minji's present life in the MV is a doctor. so theres a difference between present in real life and present in the music video.
After watching this MV I was like: wtf 🙉🙉🙉 It's confusing but also interesting! 🥲🥹
They never miss
So..
Minji thinks she's a doctor
Hearin thinks she's a cat
Hanni thinks she's an iPhone or siri
Hyein thinks she's a princess
Danielle is trying to tell them that there new jeans that's what I got from it🤷🏾♀️
Love her or hate her Min Hee Jin & her team are genius, and the girls make it that much more of a slam dunk.
NEW JEANS SLAYSSSSSSSS ♥️🤗♥️
Okay, I got an idea.
They are in a mental hospital. So, Hanni actually shows us modern people (or maybe just celebs) who live for their phones, we smile for Ig, we text a lot, sometimes we don't sleep just to stay online, always trying to show what people want to see, not real selves.
The song is actually about a guy (maybe), and I guess we are delusional about our expectations of significant other, or maybe sometimes about male idols. Acting like princess waiting for her prince. But, unfortunately, we are some kind of mentally unstable.
Yeah
In short , OMG is almost of a clap back to some kpop fans who are too obssesive to the point they might as well do some sasaeng thing
I think Hanni's intro part is about celebs "existing" for people to consume and it doesn't matter who she really is in her personal life
@@CK-kd5pn And also a clap back toward consumer culture ? I guess ?
NewJeans are really the New Genes of all kpop generation
so basically theyre all patients in this psych ward, definite facts of this mv are:
minji is a patient that believes she’s a doctor which is why she’s in all their scenes
the guy in the beginning is the actual doctor
haerin thinks she’s a cat and drew a few cats (she also ate cat food)
dani thinks they’re newjeans, which is why she goes up to the directors/cameracrew saying that they’re actually filming a music video (she’s also seen laughing at a tv screen with nothing on it)
hanni thinks she’s an iphone/siri and that’s why she’s dressed like steve jobs
and hyein has princess syndrome, and she’s shown as different princesses. the stuffed bear she sees is a reference to how in her story, her prince died and the bear attacked her (which is why she is seen as translucent in one scene, implying that she’s a ghost).
now, it gets a little confusing when the ditto references come in. my personal theory is that heesoo was just seeing newjeans, they’re all apart of her delusions. and when she broke that camera in side b, those delusions stopped. i think the girls are now in this psych ward because heesoo has stopped feeding into these delusions of them being real and has stopped recording. when hanni sends that letter to heesoo, i think it’s newjeans trying to find a way back to heesoo and try to get her to feed into these delusions. but they can’t, because her camera’s broken, and that’s the only thing that was connecting the girls and heesoo. as a side note: heesoo also said in one of the videos on her channel that hyein has some sort of serious princess syndrome, implying that heesoo might’ve made this up about newjeans as well (?)
i also saw another theory that said newjeans had died in the ditto mv, and it was heesoo trying to let them go, so maybe they had all these characteristics while they were alive ?
another masterpiece from NewJeans!
TLDR shit is crazy and i never expected New Jeans to be the one to break away from korean norms and make mvs with social commentary. also lmao at them taking shots at trolls at the end.
wow!!!! ador and the production team is giving!!!!!!!! the future is bright!!! i can't wait for more!!! lezzzzgo nwjns!!!!!!!!!!
Love how the song is about a boy yet the mv is totally something different
omg thanks for the fast upload and reaction!
This song was fire and the MV was too yo, this such a great start of the year for a NJ comeback. They never miss 🤧🤧
Also off topic but those two actors seemed familiar from Extraordinary Attorney Woo lmao
And I thought I'm done with the deep lore stuff with LOONA, jeez. 😅
the way they're a bunch of lunatics getting infiltrated by different multidimensional versions of themselves is just AMAZING
8:50 HANNI STEVE JOB COSPLAY 😂😂😂😂😂 LOLLL NO CAUSE FR
Hanni participated in the writing of this song
Again, NewJeans showed new Music and Messages~! You can find out what the theme of the MV is through the interview of the director Shin- Woo Seok who made of MV
Hah!
Great reaction!
Btw, Jisoo made a channel

OMG 🥰🥰😍🤩😘
Netflix quality stuff? I think they need to start making Hybe Cinematic Universe (Use cookies to get attention of a hype boy went OMG still no ditto got hurt 😂). I might be trippin' as well but whatever they are FIRE!!! 🔥🔥🔥
OMG Bro! You caught the Steve Job wardrobe reference.
1:14 that's what I've been saying.. Hanni in her Shizuku Murasaki era 😍
I might be completely wrong on this one, but this might be another one of those instances where all their music videos follows a strory, kinda lile bts did their early ones. If that’s so this is gonna be 🔥
antis watching this mv: wait, is this play about us?
You should check out MV director 돌고래 유괴단's other works.

I think director of the MV is in to show. the Mv and the show have very similar vibes
and the last scene is just talking about haters in internet.
Idk tf is happening but the song bops!
they don't miss!
that whole mv just blowing my mind to be honest but...
hanni dressed like steve jobs bc she is an iphone lmao
the last scene telling haters to go get some mental help ahaha
genius
Seems like ador making sweetest music with creepy undertone in the storyline, asylum, personality disorders and what not.
But music certainly hit Teenage stuff from music to lyrics, very easy and sweet on ears.
the mv is like an a24 film
"i know that's *probably* not a real bear" cracked me tf up somehow😭
Internet troll’s username at the end was”hates everything”
Plus 2023 is the year of the rabbit. Let that sink in.
base on what Ban Hesso said on her channel, Hyein has a major Princess syndrome and she thinks she's a princess that's why she like that on this mv
OMGGGGGGG💥💥
it's the newjeans simulator™ 😭
1:16 THANKYOU
I'm disappointed the EP is just 2 tracks , we need 4-5 at least come on .
mystery solved. Bear means god
The last clip has to have been like a stab at the haters saying that like they too are pretty much just as psycho as the girls. But like the girls aren't actually psycho but they are.
plsssss react to their cover of Wonder Girls Tell Me 🔥🔥
the mv broke the 4th wall lmfao
Was this mv already conceptualized before attention? Because Minji’s bathtub scene is altered here. Also wonder how much Loona’s lore success influenced this direction for new jeans. I know aespa has lore but loona’s interested me more
they said minji filmed the scene again for this mv
@@evelinramosmiranda619 oh cool! Can you link me that. Having a debate and want to send to a friend.

Guys do you have a theory about the mv?
Change the word iphone->idol might help
And is it just me or does Minji have no lines in this song 😢
At 3:20, there are two Minjis next to each other... wth
OMG♥️
first🙃
I think that all the newjeans members are delusional and that why there in the center because they forgot who they are and Danielle is trying to make them remember that there newjeans so the iPhone and princess stuff and doctor
drawings coming alive is just all in there head.
