- The Acura Integra Type-S has a $7K premium over the Honda Civic Type-R (excluding any sort of markup...) and it is the better car, but does it really matter in the end? It Depends...

Type S babyyy
7K gives you
-Rain Sensing wipers

-Cooler Exhaust Note
-Leatherette Interior
-HUD
-Radar Sensors in the bumpers
-Sound Deadening
-Aggressive body kit
-Premium Sound System
-Powered Driver Seat with plenty of adjustments
-Heated Front Seats
-Door Sill Plates
Among other things.
No leather, remember? :-)
@@lionary not many brands use leather anyway.
Leatherette so the guy can sleep tonight. 😴
Also: suspension settings that are more usable day in and day out, exterior styling alternative (including wing delete--for those who prefer it), more prestigious corporate badge, more exterior and interior color choices, and last but not least . . . Performance Car of the Year.
(And if the CTR has a $7K dealer markup vs. none for the ITS, then you essentially get these goodies for free.)
tell me you have an ITS without telling me you have one
It is not like you can get a R-type with out a big mark up. The Type S you can get it for MSRP in many areas. So based on the current market conditions, they are equal price.
Some more important benefits of floating rotors is to reduce disc warping by allowing the rotor to freely expand and contract. It also reduces heat transfer into the wheel bearings and prevents the grease inside from getting cooked.
I dig the ITS but the CTR just feels like a more special car of the two in person. The interior of the type S just feels kinda bland compared to the interior of the type R. The seats are much better, the odometer is sportier, the data logger, colored belts and its also going to have better resale value as well.
Honestly ive been able to find the Type S at msrp pretty easily but have yet to find a dealership without a 25k markup on the type R. If were just looking at msrp the R is the way to go but, at least in the Midwest, the Type S ends up being the more affordable option between the two.
Thank you for this! Crazy how markups can flip flop these cars.
stay patient and it’s possible, got my Type R right at sticker!
Same here. Look for a year across many states in the east coast and couldn't find a CTR at MSRP.
Took 3 calls to find the ITS.
When is the full review coming? I5N
Definitely the Performance Red and the Copper wheel finish.
That red carpet on the Type R is no go!
They couldn’t be bothered to give us a third seat in the rear… Or rear vents? For an Acura, I expect more. My old accord has rear vents… it isn’t exactly a high cost feature.
it’s subjective. for me ITS wins bc of the ADM plaguing the CTR. ITS looks are the only way to for me but I really wish it had the option for CTR seats, in black.
Needs a DCT!
Ever made? There was never a such thing as a USDM Integra Type-S until 2024🙄
I would go black with copper wheels
Typ R all day
No playa Integra type s baby.👌🏼
Nizzan zzzzz
@@freemantuffcakes 🤔👍🏼
Type S please
TYPE S (Super) all day!!!
someone will be butt hurt!!! 😆
Own both Type S and Type R (FK8)...TYPE S look alone is the Best!!! Also look closer to the FK8!!! Which I think should've been the new Type R instead of the FL5 which look like an Egg or a Mouse especially with that off looking wing hehe...
Type S for the looks, Type R for the better resale value.
Type r looks better in person
@@jw3384 I don't know when I see the Type R in person, it looks like a regular civic other than the big wang. lol
@bj10jgo I thought the type s looks like A spec lol. Mine is black so maybe the black looks better
@@jw3384 Almost like a Apec lol but the front bumper, side fender flairs, hood, and rear diffuser is what makes the big difference.. So you have a black FL5?
There is a price difference for a reason, of course its going to be better lmfao
Type r anyday, the hud is cool but the log r and the dash is much better on the type r
It’s also the only integra type s so… it’s also the slowest integra type s and worst integra type s
Say you don't know anything about cars without saying it.
@@Marbindenlighten me then. When has there been another Integra type S?
And remember, R and S aren’t the same letter
@@barryisawesomer Please, enlighten us.
It is the only one and firstaccording to you.
How it can be the worst and slowest?
😂😂😂
They make their own traps.
As my great grandma used to say, ”It ain’t a tight car if it ain’t a Type R.” 😂
She sounds pretty rad
@@ShiftingLanesShe was a great woman and a true visionary. She died in 1987. At the time, we were just thinking her old age was taking a toll on her mental acuity. Ten years after her death though, the first Civic Type R was released. It turns out that the crazy old lady wasn’t so crazy after all. It really ain’t a tight car if it ain’t a Type R. I miss you so much GG Kakinuma!
Nah. Type R
Type S drives too soft.
Saying that the Type-S is too soft is the same as saying the Type R in sport mode is too soft....Sport+ in the Type-S roughly = Sport mode in Type-R. I own a Type-S and a friend of mind owns the Type-R....They are mechanically identical, and the only difference in suspension has to do with software that controls the dampers depending on drive settings...
Meanwhile FL5 owners are buying the ITS suspension module because the stock one is so stiff that hurts performance. 🤷♂
integra R is ugly. just not appealing IMO
