It is hard to say how many hours because filming adds 30% more time easily. The hardest part is maintaining motivation to consistent work on it. I think the biggest surprise was when it arrived and I had to inventory 30 boxes of parts. Honestly I did a lot of research and tried to overbuild this to make sure it exceeds my expectations so I can't think of something I would do differently.
Great video and a better build. I know is difficult to estimate time But how many hours do you think you guys spent to get the truck this far? I assume you also had a regular job of 40 to 50 hours per week so that meant that you worked evenings and weekends. Thanks for you video. I have thought about a FFR car for many years but did not have the money or time to put into it. Now retired I have all my waking hours to work on the truck project.
Thank you, I really appreciate it. That is a very hard question to answer for a few factors. Filming adds easily adds 30% more time just from figuring out how to do the work in an angle that could be filmed with adequate lighting. We also spend a lot of time while not actively building doing research for parts and other aspects of the build. Yes we both worked full time and I would say on average we spent about 10 hours weekly on the build process. Thank you. Their wait times are much longer now due to supply chain issues and more people ordering the kit but I waited 3 and a half months
Thanks for the response good to know ....I'm on the fence about the cobra as well..
@@phillipnaffah2561 no problem. I was as well. My ultimate determining factor was at the time I was in Virginia and only had a 2 car garage so I couldn't justify a car that I only drove half of the year
Great build, has it gone to paint yet?
Thank you. We are disassembling it now and doing bodywork and paint
Hey, you live in Sheffield Manor area?
No I moved to Florida last year.
👍
Thank you
Is the grill shell designed to be laid back as far as you have it? I like the rake that it gives the grill. Just wondering if factory five did it that way or is that a mod you made yourself?
No it is not. That was a beautiful style cue that came out of necessity because we rerouted the coolant system.
Hope you don’t mind if I jump in here. Did you have to reroute the coolant system because of the LS motor.
@@charlesnorsk3055 I am really sorry for the late response. No it was because they want the lower radiator hose to go under a frame cross member and we did not like the radiator hose being that low
What part or Northern Va are you from? I’m in va.
I was in Sterling. I have moved to Florida.
Noice 😎
Thank you
How many man-hours did you have in the build?
What was the hardest part?
What surprised you the most?
What would you do differently?
Thanks!
I would say since April 1st, 2020 there were about 6 weeks that no work was done on the truck.
Auto trans?
Yes it is. There were a couple deciding factors but it boils down to space considerations
