Fifa 98 has been the best for me, and from this I learned that is not about the graphics but the gameplay itself, the fast and ease of use, no exaggerations, available cheat codes to change the skill of players, teams etc besides most of the best players of all time were from that era anyway

They got the players photorealistic, how do manage to mess up the stadium so badly? Nobody waves flags that way when watching a game. Also all of them have the same animation too.
As I keep watching the gap in graphics quality gets smaller and smaller... from the start of the PS4 era to the most recent title on the video I can see modest upgrades in visuals but nowhere near as significant as the ps1 and 2 era.

The graphics haven’t significantly improved for the past 7 years. There AI programs that can reproduce photoreal graphics and they are not using it. They are just being lazy at this point. When 2k do their soccer game, EA will have to stop being lazy.

Your missing the 3DO version, at the time it was pretty damn life like thnk it was around 94 95 it came out I haven't played fifa since the mid 90s i loved it on the megadrive, decided to play it on the pc fifa 17 a couple weeks back while the graphics and the realism looks stunning i still prefer the 16 bit playability the quickly run down the pitch and bang it in the back of the net the modern versions just feel to real slow and clunky perhaps I'm showing my age but i grew up on retro fifa plus sensible soccer, super side kicks, striker.

I think FIFA 18 or 19 because they are fun and bring back many memories such as my own experiences, especially when I had like an 84 rated UT squad and no informs but hey, we don't talk about that lol. But I feel like the game was very easy back then, but maybe it would be better to play at the oldest FIFA 22 so they can at least play Ultimate Team.

They need to use AI to improve gameplay, graphics, narrator, etc. You can do so much with the tecnology now a days. If FIFA doesn't improve in a few years they will gonna be eaten by the next company that starts using it.
