- T1N Sprinter Brake Light Switch Replacement | In this video you'll see me replace (NOT fix) brake light switch, a common T1N Sprinter woe. That's right, I replaced it, but it didn't fix the problem of not starting. I just kept doing my "turn key to ON position, move the gear selector through all of the gears a few times, and turn key on START position" technique until it starts. Yes, I did the ballpoint pen trip a few times too. If you know what I should look at next, please let me know!

i’ve been researching this issue with my van. following Zimaleta on YT and found a video on the actual brake light circuit board being the issue. i’m replacing those first.

I put the light meter on my rear brake light panel and blew many fuses. Now engine won’t shut off with the key unless I push the break. Electrical is a rough find on these vans

Dude, I feel my problem is related to how I park the vehicle. For example, if I'm parked downhill, it always starts. But if I'm parked level, or slightly uphill, when I go to start the van I simply call it "van start attempt sequence." Electrical sensor thingy, a-hole gremlins, who knows?!

I did not... a Sprinter mechanic told me there's a lil linkage in the transmission they'll adjust the next time we go into the transmission again. In the mean time, I'm not using the van as a getaway vehicle for any bank heists.
Ground or wire harness bad.
The problem may be the lower most electrical plug on the up side, installed, of the fuse block under the steering column. My Sprinter has incurred the described intermittent NO Start problem several times. That plug, on my Sprinter, somehow becomes loose, therby making intermittent contact. Drop dow the fuse box, 10 mm bolt on top portion and 10 mm nut on lower portion and check the plugs for proper seating. Good luck, Pat Courtney
